  2. I might be a shade cynical, but that's never gonna happen. Getting our **** together, that is. The other planet thing might happen. QFT. Fortunately we have Space X and other private firms who will pick up the slack. I expect to see some good unmanned missions from them, though.
  3. QFT. Many times I need to reign myself in from posting, and obviously I don't always succeed, from a position of anonymity. "Would you say this to that guys face?" is a pretty good filter to use. Sorry all and sundry if I don't always use it.
  4. If it doesn't have this mod, then your claim is fallacious. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/45033-Kerbal-Plumbing-Corp-External-Commode-Seat
  5. I wouldn't expect any guarantees, anyway. It is what it is. That being said, I haven't had any issues with Ordan and MJ, for whatever it's worth. I usually add a line to the .cfg to make MJ integral to the pod. Great mod, hubbazoot. I love mods that have science or give some reason for doing something other than "because". Between this and Mapsat, it's a great vehicle for doing things like Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Add things like Graphotron and you can really do some sciency stuff.
  6. Before this update, I didn't have any problem with Smart A.S.S. holding a planetary target. It can be slightly twitchy, though. I honestly didn't have a problem with how slow the thing tracked before. I put a small remote control core on it last night and it tracked pretty fast. I haven't gotten the new version since last night. I'll have to de-orbit the old one and put an updated one up.
  7. Pretty sure 1.9.8 is not going to work. You need the current version which is in the first post of this thread.
  8. Awesome! Just so you know, it now wants to put 3 kerbals in the large telescope and won't operate without them. You could put a probe body on it I suppose, but I'm sure you could fiddle with the .cfg to make it work like a probe.
  9. This is a great mod. Glad to see someone forked it updated it for .21 and is keeping it going.
  10. That and, because they have implemented such a robust mod system, I think Squad have decided NOT to make some things stock BECAUSE great mods exist for them. Or at least no be in any great hurry to implement a stock version. Why waste the time? For me, ideally I would like a nice sandbox to play in provided by Squad, with many of the toys provided by mod makers.
  11. I use an ion engine on every probe I launch. They're great for orbit adjustments, plus the ton of dV allows for lots of orbital changes. The only problem I have with them is the power draw when they're running. I haven't used them on anything bigger.
  12. I think part failures in general will not be in KSP, so while they might have never thought of that specifically, you'll never see something like Apollo 13 where a specific part failure endangers the mission. Not that you couldn't just pretend it brokeded and sit in your chair and say -chhhht-BEEP- "Kerbin, we have a problem." -chhhhht-BEEP-
  13. There are a couple mods that would do #1. Kerbal Attachment System And Damned Robotics spring to mind.
  14. My station core has a cupola, RC-001S Remote Guidance Unit, and 6 inline reaction wheels (set around a Rockomax multi-point connector so that's two on each axis) and that thing is solid as a rock.
  15. The general lack of proper grammar, spelling and punctuation is irritating. That may be more of a pet peeve, but I find it particularly prevalent on the intarwbz.
  16. Another flawed poll. No option for "I couldn't possibly care less."
  17. Wait. No it didn't. Err . . . http://arstechnica.com/science/2013/08/scientists-are-arguing-about-whether-voyager-has-left-the-solar-system/ It's getting almost comical. Seems like every couple months, we get an article like this. Granted, it's pretty much breaking new scientific ground as it goes so it's going to be hard to definitively say anything conclusive until maybe Voyager Two gets around to making the transition.
  18. This. If Bac9 seriously thinks it's a problem, then Squad needs to rethink their strategy. Look at the opening screen in the game. A crashed orbiter with Mun or Bust written on it. It doesn't change my thoughts or feelings on the game, either way. I try to play fairly seriously and realistically but it's kind of fun to think that kerbals are slightly deranged.
  19. I made a thread in the Add-On Requests and Support forum: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/46238-Movable-Screen-Icon If you would like to add that code to that thread it would probably mean more coming from you.
  20. I tried looking for that in .20 and couldn't find it.
