  1. I like jelly donuts therefore, "Ich bin ein Berliner!" would be a far less inflammatory use of a JFK quote on a KSP board.
  2. You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to regex again.
  3. Yes. But apparently we have to discuss MechJeb and it's implications for the manhood of the user once a week now, so I guess we can suffer an age poll once a month.
  4. Sounds like a job for KAS. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/25563-0-20-KAS-v0-3-1-Kerbal-Attachment-System
  5. I'm not sure "older" is necessarily the word, but maybe you're right to use "mature." Mature and older are not necessarily synonyms. The game is by it's nature "sciency" so it's not going to attract your average gamer. That being said, the other game I'm actively playing right now is Saints Row the Third, and I'm 47.
  6. Awww. Necro. Got my hopes up. There really needs to be a device that locks threads with no activity after a certain time limit. Seriously, stop necroing threads.
  7. I saw something is a post some time back that I would like some clarification on. True or not?: NVidia cards run PhysX on the GPU everything else has it running on the CPU. If true, what are the implications for the performance of KSP for us NVidia owners vs everyone else? Does that mean that the CPU has less load on a machine with an NVidia graphics card since KSP is single threaded? That would seem to be the implication.
  8. Without mods, I would play any game less. More so with this one, since many planned features are not yet implemented.
  9. Yeah you'll need to strut the crap out of that thing. Off center CG will be difficult, too without a counterweight like lammatt said. 38 tons shouldn't be hard, though. Here's some idea of what I do with struts for heavy and wobbly payloads: It's a design from .20 that I don't use anymore, but the thing is so top heavy that it shreds itself on the gravity turn without the struts. I probably have some better examples, but not here at work.
  10. Just tried the 4K textures and had no issues with it. I have maybe a dozen mods loaded. That's with TGA's. Looks great! Edit: Just saw the file format change for the textures. Updated them. Still no issues. Even with all the mods KSP is still only using 1.88 gig.
  11. I love any mod that gives me a reason to launch a rocket for a reason other than "because." Update: I installed this and it's pretty good, but there are some issues with it. The orbit tracks of the planets in map view are all wonky. I could see Moho, Eve, Duna and Dres, but no joy on Jool. Dres looked funny, as well. Also, once I got in "Activate Camera" mode, I couldn't figure out how to get out of it. Clicking "Activate GUI" on the external view of the telescope did nothing. Update again: put "activate camera" on an action group. Problem solved. From the Edwin P. Kerman Space Telescope: I take it back, you can see Jool:
  12. If something breaks on your rocket during launch, and it's not always noticeable other than an odd focal point shift (the camera follows the craft CG), then MJ can't do anything about overheats or throttle or even ascent trajectory. The rocket will not respond even to manual input. At least not the parts below the break. Not saying that you may not be having an issue, but it's likely that your rocket actually broke on ascent.
  13. It seems to be far less of a resource hog with .21 than it did for .20. Your mileage may vary.
  14. I can get to orbit. Does that count?
  15. Hmm. I was gonna try this mod, then reading this thread I said no and thought "too bad." Now I'm gonna try it again.
  16. No worries. I had to ask how to get a kerbal out of a hitchhiker canister.
  17. Whats the before and after launch tonnage?
  18. Don't scoff at the Kraken, dude. This is what happens.
  19. My current station has 4 RTGs in the core, because the core has no solar power and 6 reaction wheels. She's pretty stable. Solar's added later with modular 4 Gigantor units that plug into docking ports. Currently 4 RTGs and 8 Gigantors. Plus about 10K of batteries. Moar powah!
