  1. Floor 913: A man comes in and presses every button. You're going to be late for work again.
  2. I watch flite test pretty often and have always been a fan, I liked the rocket planes they did a while back and figured I would take it one step higher and I took an airhogs titan, put two C6-5s on it and launched it. It went pretty far. My next step is putting some RC stuff on it so I can control the flight. Back to the afterburner, I wouldn't expect it to speed the plane up by much or even increase thrust. It did seem to get a bit of a speed boost in the video though so I'm probably wrong.
  3. We couldn't launch anything to space off of this balloon, let alone a cubesat. Japans first orbital rocket had a payload of 1 Kg. Japan, a rather wealthy country could launch just one cubesat on their first rocket. Putting the rocket on the balloon wouldn't help very much and we wouldn't be able to carry an orbital rocket with a balloon. We aren't even launching the cubesat ourselves. It would cost so much more than a launch provider using a P POD.
  4. We won't be launching our cubesat we would pay a few thousand to get it on a flight going to LEO. Unless you mean test runs, in that case we wouldn't really need a rocket at all we would just let it drop.
  5. The reason Android phones work for the model of phone it's in is because of how much you can change it. There are even phones that look like an iPhone 6/6+ and run android with an iOS skin to trick people into buying crappy phones that only cost 50$ to make and are sold for 300.
  6. I like that you can do the S4 trick with any phone with a removable back. You can see the back start to separate and he eventually just ignores it and focuses purely on breaking the phone. His hands were literally shaking because of the force required to break it. If you go watch the Note(3?) video, a phone much closer to the iPhone 6+, You can see the phone doesn't break because the back didn't come off. Your phone might "feel" good and cost 1000 dollars but its like Alienware, seems pretty good until you look into the poor specs/cost and construction. I'll admit the 5S seems decently constructed and I might test that with my hands if no one wants to buy it.
  7. I don't really mind the battery of my phone. A 5s was enough for me and it only has a 1570 mAh battery. My Find 7 is on the way with a spare battery if I really need it. Thats almost 6000 mAh from two batteries. I like resolution and screen size on my phones. I also prefer when they don't bend in my pocket from normal use
  8. Ah, that makes sense. I have a few shirts with pockets but my phone either doesn't fit or fits too loosely and if I lean to pick something up it'll fall out.
  9. Who doesn't carry their phone in a pants pocket? I use my hoodie pockets sometimes but very rarely.
  10. Granted, But you say something worse. I wish for unlimited funds
  11. Ohhh ok. I thought that meant you bought a replacement battery that wasn't a case and you bought some kind of crazy energy density battery. I would love to see one for Oppo phones that supported rapid charging. Probably not but one can dream.
  12. Isn't solar probe + supposed to hit 200+ km/s near the sun? A quarter of the time isn't THAT bad for another star.
  13. I think someone earlier said that the Note 4 has a 7 Ah battery. Is that true? I'm looking at the specs right now and it shows 3.2 Ah.
  14. the One Plus is a pretty good phone for around ~300. HD screen, 3 gb of ram, standard 13 mp rear camera, double the 5s' battery and 16 gb internal storage.
  15. they have nearly identical specs but i prefer the Oppo find 7 IMHO. Just has a better look to it. The skyline notification thing is just a bonus and the 5 mp front facing camera is great.
  16. ^ I agree with this. This thread is nothing but one side bringing evidence to the table and proving their point while the other side denies it and makes unsupported claims.
  17. About the wave thing... Yesterday I tricked my friend into microwaving his iPod. I felt pretty bad but man was it funny.
  18. Yeah, DDR4 boards, Cpus and RAM came out less than two months ago or something.
  19. 8/10 Heard it quite a bit but still pretty good.
  20. So it's just a capsule with wings? It's still good if it can land on a runway I guess.
  21. Does Dream Chaser have the ability to return cargo to Earth like the shuttle? I think that would make it a good option. If we see it at work for ~30 years like the shuttle it could see use in the earliest shot at asteroid mining. Nothing in large scales we would have to develop special craft for that. Just returning the very first material mined by an asteroid that has been dragged back to LEO.
  22. If you Orbit phobos first and come to a dead stop within it's sphere of influence as far as i know it would be physically impossible for it to somehow gain momentum and bounce out of the SOI.
  23. My main problem is the touchscreen UI. My aunt has an all in one desktop with windows 8 and I've used it a bit and my first thought was how fast your arm would get tired. I'm not sure how it works with dual or triple screen configurations but I could imagine not very well. Touchscreens are good for movile devices and I can get behind the Surface 2 but they just don't work for desktops. If my 6 monitors were all touchscreen I would cry for two reasons. 1. I would be broke because half of my screens are old 4:3 low res monitors and replacing them with 1000 dollar touchscreen monitors would be absurdly expensive. And 2. It would be annoying going from screen to screen by hand and actively having to move my hand 5 feet to do something else. I like turning my head 120 degrees to look at something else but not having to move my hand and probably my body over there.
  24. We have to decide on a certain gravity and stick with it no matter what we do. If you start with lunar and then go with martian you leave a blank spot on what happens at the beginning of the plants life for martian gravity and a blank for what happens at the end of life for lunar gravity. Lunar would be far better because the moon is a much more likely candidate for a base and it would require less power to spin up to speed for.
  25. Not trying to derail the thread or anything but what would happen if I used my spare whip-its inside of a pellet gun? Do they have different pressures? Does the density effect how the gun fires? I suppose these are kind of related to how he chooses his gas.
