  1. A large percentage of KSP players live in Europe though, so it would kinda make sense to target europe as well.
  2. There has been alot of disinformation about unity in these threads. Unity has afaik been multicore for quite some time but the problem is that there is no multicore/threads for the physics part, which is what is the biggest bottleneck for KSP. And from my quick research many so called engines that have been suggested does not do it for physics either.
  3. Often streams on twitch are archived for a while, so you might be able to watch it later on their ksptv channel.
  4. I would try to do a fresh reinstall if i were you. It has been working fine for me since at least .18.
  5. It definitely did in my and others experience. Would crash with a error log complaining about not having enough ram to allocate even though I had 4gigs of ram and did not use a single mod.
  6. Your issue in this case is that you are using a 32bit OS. I had exactly the same issues before i upgraded to win7. I was lucky to be able to have a couple of launches without a restart.
  7. Unity is 64bit.. It is just some kind of bug or something that prevents 64bit version from working on windows. From what I have heard the 64bit version on linux seems to work fine.
  8. A bit different than having it break every version is it not?? And what happens when the mod is no longer developed?? The ball bearings i use now could stop working completely with next version with no fix ever being released. With stock parts at least the parts themselves will work. And btw.. the save files for most could easily be converted so they would work, this is not the case with broken mods...
  9. And often they stop working with next version, which means all your crafts becomes useless. And sometimes the developer does not update the mod to work with new version either. This is a big problem with mods that would not happen with stock parts. Also they add random instabilitiy issues that can be really hard to track down if you are using more than one mod. Using mods wont for me be anywhere near as satisfying before this game has reached a point where new versions dont break mods. At least then I can still use those mods even if they are not currently being developed anymore. So I still think the best way would be to make some more stock parts as there are really plenty of parts that are really lacking from game like ball bearing, hinges and so on. These are essential if you want to make for example a artificial gravity station or a shuttle with hinged doors. In a sandbox space game like KSP you should really be able to make a shuttle without having to use mods or using workarounds that does not work as they should. Take for example EJ's shuttle with cargobay doors.. He did a great job making doors that open just using stock parts, but it is still very unreliable since the door and ship is separate crafts when doors are opened.
  10. I think using landing legs for a claw would be your only real chance... I know EJ made something like that for getting rid of space debris, so it should be posssible in theory.
  11. How stable is it? I thought the 64bit version still had some big issues. And how does the framerate and performance compare to windows? I have a ubuntu install but it is sadly just 32bit, so havent tested it out on linux yet.
  12. But they also add alot of issues. Things nearly always break with next version which is much more rare with stock parts. Not fun when all your craft files are unloadable and your persistance/space stations wiped just because one mod would no longer load. I like mods but this problem makes me try to use stock parts as much as possible.
  13. They should be able to use some kind of streaming for that. Loading a few parts now and then is nothing like loading them all into memory at one go.
  14. I honestly thought that was something that was originally planned for .21.. Recall devs speaking about something like that some months ago. Either way it is something this game badly needs.
  15. @neomorph To me it seems like you are just repeating their propaganda. And what is different about games compared to everything else in this world?? We have second hand/used car dealerships as well and no one has any issue with that. We have sites like ebay that earns money on you selling second hand and so on. And games are not more expensive, they have infact dropped in price if you look at inflation. The price in for example 80-90s was the same except that it was much more money back then since our money has less value now. And funny how it is mostly just the big greedy companies like EA that keeps pushing out DLC's for extra cash. It is nothing but another excuse to justify their greed. DLC's wont go away just because of digital distribution... And again I ask.. Why does it not bother you that your games will become unusable after they shutdown the authentication servers?? This has happened again and again over the last years. Meanwhile I can still play games from 80s just fine today as long as I got the hardware. Simcity 5 will probably vanish completely from history soon and thanks to the DRM always on system piracy might not save it either. Imagine if this was the case with classic movies or music?? Then our generation would not be able to listen to the music the previous generations made. This is the case with games and most of them will most likely not be resold so next generation will not even be able to play these games which is a big part of todays culture.
  16. Been working on my very first shuttle with vanilla cargobay and opening doors/"hinges": Inspired by ej_sa and jasonlii's shuttles. It needs a bit of tweaking to one of the hinges and is nowhere near as good looking, but at least seems to work and has cargo room for one large red tank. Those wings will be replaced as well as I am not happy with how they look and how they clip into cargobay.
  17. Someone in one of those other threads speculated that it could have something to do with sun tracking/time of day as it seemed to change when they time warped. No idea if this is true though, as I havent tried it myself.
  18. Dont be so naive... How they advertise cloud these days is nothing but a way to spin it from the fact that it is used as DRM system in microsoft case. Why do you want to lose your rights like that?? And you could already download these very same games through xbox live/psn store already. The way microsoft would use the cloud would at best be for your savegames, and would not improve performance at all. It is just used to kill the physical unrestricted copies so you cannot sell them second hand. Why do you want games that will stop working in a few years when servers are shut down?? This is what happens with such "cloud services".. When I buy a game i expect to be able to play it even in a decade or two if i have the hardware to play them on. This wont be possible with the so called cloud and your console will basically just become a worthless brick after a while and all your games will be gone... And do you know what I do when my internet goes down?? I fire up a pc or console game... With such DRM this would not be possible either so I would not even be able to play games when i feel like playing games the most. At least as it is now we have a choice. If you dont mind losing your copy in years from now then you can go buy a digital copy on PSN store or xbox live marketplace.
  19. @Brotoro I am sad to say it, but the before screenshot looks better to my eyes and also looks more similar to the photos that the nasa rovers sent back. Like for example this one:
  20. in 99% of the cases it is a strut/design problem but in rare cases such errors seems to happen with large crafts if you run out of memory. And about parachutes... Did you use time warp? Using time warp when deploying parachutes makes this happen. Also make sure you deploy the parachutes when you are high up, as they slow you down even when they dont fully deploy and make sure you also have drogue chutes on larger crafts. You would also want the speed to be lno more than max 200m/s or they can ripoff when they deploy fully at 500 meters above surface.
  21. It has nothing to do with pc vs console wars. The xbox one does not have the right controls and is cpu wise pretty weak compared to even a mid range pc, which just dosent make it suited for this game. This is something that developers have said themselves on stream and pretty much confirmed that it wont ever be released on console. And I say this as a person who have both the xbox 360 and ps3.
  22. Someone mentioned earlier in some other thread that it resets to automatic updates after steam has been restarted. If this is the case then that makes that feature pretty pointless. Also out of curiosity.. If one were to buy KSP for windows on steam, would you then be able to also install it on a linux or mac system without buying another copy for these said platforms?
  23. Even though this is basic features for you, I have never heard of anyone ever even mentioning that they want anything like that. There are plenty of things i feel the game lacks as well, but most people would probably not agree with me. And something like a replay function I think would be pretty complicated since you have a bunch of planets moving around in orbit so by the time you click replay they would be in a different spot. And about saving your creations.. you could always build your own museum anywhere you want on any planet and fill it with your past creations.
  24. What I find kinda funny is how people keep saying they should port it to another engine, but my reading shows that most engines including big engines like unreal does not do multicore for physics either. I wish those who beg for a new engine would at least tell us which engines actually does this....
  25. I agree completely. And congrats about landing them back safely.
