  1. This is awesome to see! I'm very happy you used my Apollo craft for this! Looks like she needs a fairing update though. Good work mate, and thank you. MJ
  2. Damn tootin' Having said that on my first version I had the same wheel set up made without the new tools.
  3. HA! That's awesome man! Does it use my bearing? How did you get on with it? Remember the center of mass rule.
  4. Well I added a bit more fuel and this happened: I ran out of fuel about 2 meters above the surface and so decided to fly the Ion shuttle back to kerbin: Sadly the Ion shuttle was not designed for atmospheric flight.. Jeb bravely fought the controls but there was no control. He fell into the sea and dieded.. I will continue to try to make this able to do a mun return. MJ
  5. Hi all, Some may remember my SPR rovers from my Duna constellation mission. Well after the loss of the thin white ailerons I had to rebuild this great little rover. In doing so I decided to make them part of another big Duna mission but make them a little bit smaller. The original SPR rover I made seated three, two in the cabin and one rear facing outer seat. The new one seats two, one inside one outside as the mission calls for four crew. These rovers can dock to a surface base or even better, dock to each other so you can drive two separate vehicles to one location then split up covering more ground. My proposed mission is in the very early stages so don't expect that for a while. Anyway, here are some pics: MJ
  6. When you aerobrake at Jool with this I want to see the video please!!
  7. Nah, it will take a fair bit of weight as long as its near the center of mass.
  8. Thanks man, I am very tempted to try some weapon mods on it! I will make a tank using it soon.
  9. Then your using it incorrectly. As I stated in the first post you should keep the centre of mass as close to the center of the bearing as possible. It's tiny and has a very smooth action but its also delecate. I have hung large fuel tanks from it and it worked perfectly as the center of mass was centred. Don't full pitch up or down and rotate either. As you can see in the vid, under normal usage it's great.
  10. Lol, ok so no my bearing then. No that I doubted it's reliability or anything..
  11. That's interesting man. Have you tried it with a jet engine? See if you can make the hinge narrower too and you could be on to something.
  12. Debate away good sir! I was just giving my opinion as I have a 'gut' feeling about this. "He's been acting squirly all day, it's that damn nose of his".
  13. Thanks man. I've seen a stock VTOL that uses the same engine for lift and level flight. But it seriously limits creative freedom as the resulting craft looks like a bearing with wings... Having said that, I will try to come up with a truly original solution to this.
  14. Loool!! Yes tis my real name! I don't mind craft being broken in the name of progress. I have come to terms with that now. My opinion is a logical one, based on what Squad have said so far and what they appear to want for KSP. if you read Squads new post on the aero update they do mention fairings, but in the context of existing parts. That is very telling indeed. I don't mind if they introduce heat, in fact I will be happy about it. I just can't see it happening.
  15. I fear that re-entry heat isn't going to happen. It will limit craft design. The latest aero news has confirmed this. IMO there will be no stock farings either. For two reasons. One, squad won't implement procedural parts, and conversely non procedural farings will limit craft design. Mark my words, no stock re-entry heat, no stock farings. In fact, I'm so confident they won't happen that I would bet real money to the fact.
  16. Looks good man, and great post! I laughed at the second last pic. I thought it was a shot of a landing. Then I saw the Kerbal standing on the wing! GJ mate.
  17. Hi all, I'm nearly finished turning my new SSTO into a VTOL too. Sadly this means no cargo but there is an abundance of fuel now! MJ
  18. Sry no pics but if you leave a splashed down seat in water, leave it and keep running you will run on water!
  19. LOL yes lots of these right now. So here again is my mini stock bearing with precicse pitch control too. It's probably the smoothest action small bearing available. *smug face*. MJ
  20. Nice launchers dude! I'm very happy to see you used my 'no stock engine fairings technique'! MJ
  21. Thanks! It's the first proper SSTO I have made and released. But yes, I have made and flown them before.
