  4. It's interesting so far; some of the character motivations are a little opaque (why did Gene send that fighter to shoot down the Keranian plane?) but I expect you'll reveal the motivations in time. -Will

  9. Nothing wrong with your writing style in imho, just there are a LOT of career mode reports floating around. But yours is well-documented and illustrated, and I have enjoyed reading it. -Will
  10. Haven't read the whole thread, but for orbital missions transmission is currently a waste of time; just land the craft and collect it, and then fly again. Then you only need power for SAS, which you can keep turned off most of the time anyway. -Will
  11. Hah, that does remind me that I've nearly got nailed by a spent sustainer stage as I adjusted my orbit several times! -Will
  12. My closest call was a manned mission that accidentally ended up within a kilometer or two of a satellite I had launched a few missions before, while the manned mission on the way out of the moon. Would have been a perfect rendezvous, if I actually WANTED to visit that satellite. -Will

  20. I agree that it would be hard to implement without taking the game in a very different direction (a program-management sim, not a space-flight sim). I think Squad has stated you will NOT have a rival in the career mode in any event, so it's only a pipe-dream. Maybe something to consider modding some day. -Will
  21. But this assumes that Kerbals are not going to gain any additional skills or abilities in future updates. What if they were required to take samples for return missions or other sorts of science-gathering tasks? Science might not be the only 'currency' either; maybe you also need to gain prestige for more funding, and manned missions are far greater in prestige, or something similar. I would LOVE an 'opponent' for career mode though, I admit. The Space Race has always fascinated me. -Will
