To get more thrust to pass over M 1.45 just add afterburner on your jet engines by using the Kerbokatz small utilities: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/116034-1-0-X-KerboKatz-SmallUtilities-V1-2-2-07-08-2015-Now-with-AutoBalancingLandingLeg! If your engines are not in the config file, look at the file, it's very easy to add an engine.

Hello Here is my Starblaster cargo, Ferram design but not tested in flight under Ferram du to stock heating bug. He is flying perfectly well under Stock and leave you 70% fuel in Orbit at 100km with a 7T satellite inside hold. You can fly to Mun, launch Satellite, Land on Mun and return on Kerbin. He is equipped with 4 Nukes 2 RAPIER and 2 OPT J61 very powerful RAM Jet Engines. They allow you to reach M 4.8 at 20km with the help of the RAPIER and then Nukes they will give thrust until 40 km at Mach 5.5 , even in rare atmosphere, because the speed you reach will give enough air to the engines. Shutting down RAPIER at 24km and lighting Nukes you will reach orbit without burning only fuel. There is an Oxy reserve you can use with RAPIER. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/97525-1-0-4-WIP-OPT-Space-Plane-v1-7 The SSTO is equipped with Karbonite detector,drillers and converter in another hold and is completely autonomous, provided you launched a Scansat satellite to search for Karbonite. With this device, you do not need any refinery nor installation. You can fly directly to Laythe, launch a ScanSat satellite to detect Karbonite and then land, mine and refuel. Drillers are deployed by mean of Infernal robotic rails and hinges. The SSTO and all wings are reinforced with struts. It is modulable, you can replace hold by Mk2 passengers parts or equipped hold with science..;etc.... Share and explanations in my kerbalX later. It would be great to update the system that manage heat ! There's a lot of situations that are not playable, du to this heat bug. For example, a big spaceplane on the runway, carrying a smaller one on its back or on its belly is "heat unstable" and the whole thing will finally exploses, before you have begun to use it. Even with Alt F12, dealing with thermal conductivity slide, does not allow to make the thing stable..... On the contrary, each plane alone on the runway would not deal with that heating bug.....

Yes, it's easier to have a spaceplane balanced at any time, especially when you manage to build one where Dry CG and full CG are quite similar. So is there any means, kind of spaceplane version, where KER would consider all fuel and/or Oxy in tanks that are not shut down, and calculate the right DV -

Maybe it's a question of fuel line. I don't use any, I use TAC fuel balancer. -

OK. I am just finishing it and I will share on Kerbal X. LV-N are on Fuel tank but there's no fuel lines, I use TAC Fuel balancer during all flight, that's maybe why calculations are false. Lot of mod also: OPT engines, Karbonite tank, drill and converter, Scansat...... -

It looks like KER is unable to calculate DV remaining on a SSTO in orbit, once RAPIER and Jet engines have been shut down, and you are remaining on LV-N atomic engines? KER and Mechjeb see 865 DV remaining on my SSTO and I perform a 827DV run to Mun on my Atomic engines that costed me only 145DV out of my 865 remaining. In fact it remains around 5 times the calculated DV. -

But is there really a heat bug when using KSP without FAR?. As far as i tried without FAR, i did not see the same kind of bug, aircraft stationnary on ground and heating up to explosion. I had some heating problem during climb but it could be du to a bad choice of speed and path....so that's may be why they don't consider any heat bug and won't fix it!- 14,073 replies

Thank you Ferram for the update, but as you said temp bug still there . It looks like if you have more than one vehicle, for example a cargo with a satellite inside or with a small jet on roof, the bug is more active (more parts i suppose) and needs to be fix by mean of Conduction factor. But what is surprising is that it seems there is no rules. By decreasing conduction factor, temp on ground can decrease to 288 but can also increase to 500 or 900, it looks like trying decreasing values gives erratics jumps towards lower or higher temp!- 14,073 replies

Good job, but i have been trying for hours to place a vehicle in the cargo bay by means of a docking port in the ceiling.....impossible! I try to play with gizmo root part, but it won't work! my vehicle is always stuck by front or rear attach node!!!! would it be possible to place some attach node in the ceiling? -
The exponent for weight is not 3, but 2.5 If you take the rapier engine scale 1.25, mass is 2 If you scale to 2.5m, multiplier is 2 and new mass is (2^2.5)*2= 11.314......click center mouse on engine to check If you scale to 2m, multiplier is 2/1.25= 1.6 New mass is (1.6^2.5)= 6.476 If you scale to 0.625, Multiplier is 0.5 and new mass is (0.5^2.5)*2=0.354 Same rule applies for fuel and oxy flow and thrust.

I asked the same question because it's more complicated than simple multiplication. Here are some multiplicators I found by divided weight between them, it looks like it's the same multiplicator for thrust, air flowing Fuel/oxy flow for 1.25 it's 1 / for 1.50 it's 1.58 / 1.8 - 2.50 / 1.90 - 3.04 / 2.0 - 3.24 / 2.20 - 4.11 / 2.30 - 4.59 / 2.5 - 5.67 If you find the formula, please let us know....

It looks like, if you carry a space vehicle on the top of your spaceplane, there's a kind of multiplier for this overheat bug. I must reduce thermal conduction from 20 to 15 with my spaceplane and if she is carrying another vehicle, I must reduce from 20 to 5 !!- 14,073 replies

Thank's, it's working It's weird. When this factor is set to squad value, 20, the temp gauge show 508° on ground at night instead of 288° As soon as I set 15 temp gauge show 288 and if I increase to 16 nothing happens then at 17 temps suddenly shows 508. Is there a way to keep it permanently at the same value by modifying a config file?- 14,073 replies

On which page do you call the debug menu? Any page I try, settings, main menu page, main setting page, runway and building page,...F12 does not give any debug menu. I guess it's stock debug menu, because there's no such possibility on FAR debug menu I just find some "conduction factor" in the Physic.cfg file in the KSP folder- 14,073 replies

Hi guys Thank you for your mod that is very usefull. It's a must have! Is there any equation or factors that allows to define Thrust, fuel flow, oxy flow when rescalling? It seems to be the same factor than weight. Is it? What is the formula?

Yes this mod is fantastic, it's a great help, specially when we build touchy aircraft or spaceplane to pilot, but The fact is that when we are taking off heading 090 on the runway, it would be great that we can enter any heading before taking off so that once airborne we have just to touch HDG so that our aircraft follow the heading. For the time being, i was not able to enter any heading once airborne. So please tell us exactly what to hit to enter heading. -

Hi When I am in Hdg control it is impossible to enter a value in the heading window. I got the prompt, but impossible to enter any figures, Target Hdg stays at 0.00 , I can enter a bank, but not a heading! I can enter a value in the VSpd window but not in the Hdg window. is it a bug? Or is there something i don't understand? KSP 1.0.4
