KIDI- Kerbal Interplanetary Defence Initiative

Done! http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/39029-KIDA-Kerbal-Interplanetary-Defense-Administration Also, you're hired, and we need a logo and motto. -
Drove it off the launchpad and flipped it, lost an entire wheel assembly. If you drive nicely, this works great, but it's not as indestructible as you describe.

KIDI- Kerbal Interplanetary Defence Initiative
minerman30 replied to sodopro's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Should I just create it and then edit it later? I kinda want to model it after the Zokesia Skunkworks thread, with categories such as corvettes, frigates, gunships, crew transporters, and carriers, as well as various warhead and missile designs. Perhaps there could be a "featured" page with the best in class of every category, based on an overall ratings system that would have points such as part count, range, speed, weapons effectiveness, accuracy, armor effectiveness, and handling, which would be rated on a scale of 1 to 10 and then averaged. -

Can I do the honors of creating this thread? I will call it the KIDA - Kerbal Interplanetary Defense Administration. We would include every craft that can do it's job correctly, not only the best ones, as people might judge crafts differently based on their needs. -

Are your kinetic missiles stacked or side-by-side? You can make a simple 5-part torpedo either way by taking a cubic octagonal strut and putting a mini nosecone on the front, two separatrons on the sides, and a mini-decoupler on the back for a side-by-side configuration, or replace the nosecone with an Oscar-B mini tank for a stackable version. You could also make a smaller (part count) engine block by instead putting two Jumbo-64's on the sides, add either a bi- or tri-coupler on the back, put NERVAs on the couplers, and plate the whole thing. I could do it for you if you could release or PM me the craft file. -

I think you should not plate the side of the engine facing the body of the craft, as most missiles aren't going to be well-aimed enough to get past it. Also, judging from the use of the 1x1 plates on the weapons module, that's probably 1/3 of your part count right there. Use 2x2s on the top of it and on the engine modules and you should be able to cut like 50 parts off it. Also, you should add a single controllable large-SRB missile in the middle section, using sgt_flyer's warhead. That could obliterate the Vanguard one-shot, no problem. Also, you should post it on the Spiritwolf submission thread, I think Macey would very much like this design. -

Bannon, I really like the idea of a modular ship, it looks like something Macey Dean would use in his series. I think you should sent up the ship in one piece minus the engine modules, which you should send up separately and dock together. Also, because the engines are so critical, I think they should be armor-plated too, instead of using the weak wing-plates. -
Kerbal, Kennedy, same difference!

Can you please group all of your craft into one thread, instead of one each for your 10 craft? -
Smallest Operational Spaceplane
minerman30 replied to minerman30's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Fine, I'll change it, but it is called the Spaceplane Hangar, right? -
I introduce to you, the smallest operational plane in KSP, the Mosquito! The bare-bones version has a whopping 6 parts and uses every one of them to the fullest extent. It handles very nicely but cannot land. Download: http://www./?46o9apz1hv1a187 I also have a more advanced version, the Mosquito 2.0! It has 13 parts and can land and take off again using parachutes and landing legs. It also has a Clamp-o'-tron Jr. docking port on the front, for refueling or transportation. (Fueling and transportation means provided by user.) Action group 1 opens the parachutes, do this above 500 meters radar altitude and below 50 m/s to ensure the not-exploding of the craft. After landing, do an EVA, and while holding on to the side of the craft repack the radial chutes. Download: http://www./?76cusuoytd63te3 Both craft require no more than 1/3 throttle to keep them in the air, have a 17,500 meter ceiling, and have an approximate 300 km range at 1/3 throttle. They were inspired by Scott Manley's video about a 5-part plane (before jet engines required intakes.)

[6 Pics]Super Light Extremeâ„¢

Needs more lights. Also, can we get a craft download? -
Build something that has a hook made of the small girders to grab the front landing gear, and use the small wheels.

International Civilian Space Program Series
minerman30 replied to malkuth's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This looks great! I think you should have mission payouts by the government and private companies, for example let's say Koogle wanted a satellite in orbit and they offered 100,000 KD for a lifter and launch. Just an idea. Also, since the fuel tanks come fully fueled, wouldn't fuel be included in the part price? For example, the Jumbo-64 costs 12,500 KD and holds 2880 units of liquid fuel. 2880 x 2.45 = 7056, meaning we still have 5444 KD for the tank itself. -
Awesome! Can the large missile reach orbit? To, for example, take out a space station? Also, you should release it as a craft bundle all in one download.

The Jetsons Got Nothing (Lots of pictures!)

Space Truckin'. Now make an RV with nuclear engines and tanks all enclosed. -
A need for stock realistic weaponry?
minerman30 replied to deskjetser's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This looks awesome, but an idea would be to add an unmanned core and replace the nosecone with an aviations package, and then add a generator to the plane. Also, I want the downloads to it and I want to see all of the other weapons you have. -
Duna North Pole Mission (permanent outpost)
minerman30 replied to Mephane's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Awesome, but one thing: JEPEDIAH!?!?!?!?! -
With the way parachutes work in the game, this won't work due to the fact that on ascent the parachutes would hang below you.

HOCgaming's THAT'S NO MOON! Base - Craft Submission Thread
minerman30 replied to HOC's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Now that I understand what you mean, I have a cannon for you, the Kerblifter Mk1! It uses a Skipper engine for thrust and has a backplate and landing legs to secure itself against the memorial. http://imgur.com/7hRcHBY It weighs about 30 tons and has 58 parts, and you could push it against the memorial with the tractor once it's landed and stable. You could add docking ports and use the cannon itself to land, and then refuel it once landed. Craft file: http://www./?gzg38oxann9e2u4 Also, I haven't tested it yet, but it should work once it's up against the memorial. -Minerman30
