I catalyze a terrain metastability event, causing the material of the half-sphere/hill to fall from its cohesive state and seek out its normal angle of repose. My formerly-metastable fluidized debris cone.

Overfloater's GG rating returns to 12/10 for turning the engine back on. My opinion on ponies has already been adequately declared. -

74. The Black Sun dies, unleashing the Mad Mind upon the universe once again.

Banned for making it rain on my first day of classes, while the previous five days had been sunny.

What is your favorte Joolian moon? (quick survey thing)
GreeningGalaxy replied to HafCoJoe's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm also kind of weirdly in love with Vall. It doesn't look a thing like Europa (which I am, slightly more seriously, also in love with) but I just love the seas of ageless ice surrounded by sharp mountain ranges. It and Laythe are actually the only ones of the Joolian moons I've ever landed on (I should really send something to Bop and Pol soon, Tylo can wait until I have a few days of nothing to do). Laythe is pretty and the 02 atmosphere is very intriguing (and useful), but its hard to take off from and has a habit of eating my ships and kerbals Eve-style. It would probably be my favorite if I went there more, but every ship I send to Jool tends to get enticed by the siren song of Vall and lands there instead. Which is often a good thing, because sometimes I just head off for Jool without remembering to equip my ship with a lander capable of getting down and back up again from anywhere big, and end up having to just land on whatever I can get my transit vehicle down onto. That's not really an excuse for not going to Bop or Pol, but the big far-out and inclined orbits tend to prey upon my laziness. Vall, though. I mean, just look at this place! -
I once managed a triple-encounter free-return trajectory on the way to Minmus- I don't know how it happened, but I managed to get my trajectory so that it got a Munar slingshot that took me straight to Minmus and then right back for a second Mun flyby. The orbit trajectory didn't draw after that point, but I think it would have gotten me an anti-slingshot from the Mun that would have brought me right back to Kerbin's surface. I didn't follow it through because I wanted to land on Minmus (which I did), but it was a pretty sweet orbit. I think the screenshot is on my parents' computer back home.

0/10. Would prefer literally anything to ponies, but the rocket was sweet. -
Mercury is boring. Venus is full of hot sulferic acid and worse. Banned for switching out your awesome rocket avatar for a pony. edit: ninja'd! still.

I get this glitch regularly. I think it happens whenever the game auto-switches to a nearby craft when the current one gets obliterated. I had it happen very consistently when I was testing glider-bombers in FAR yesterday and had one parked next to the runway while I crashed another one nearby- it would automatically switch me to the parked plane, with both kerbal icons saying "K.I.A." like that. Funny little bug! EDIT: Now that I think about it, I was getting that back as far as 0.21 or .22 when I first started messing around with fighter spaceplanes. Wouldn't be surprised if it's been there even longer that that.
-
Don't shout it out or they'll all want one! Banned again for obsessing over Venus. What do you want with that clearly evil death-planet anyway?
-
Banned because I'm lol'ing at that launch failures compilation in your sig. Especially the ones that helicopt instead of going up due to lack of TWR- very kerbal. Hope nobody died in those.

This thing can go to Mars?? Not a landing there, obviously, but if it can really get to Mars orbit/flyby and back with its crew still alive (which I doubt, but still) that would be impressive. Whenever I see pictures of the SLS, I catch myself trying to identify KSP NASA parts. EDIT: Wikipedia says that the Orion spacecraft is designed to go to Mars, but doesn't elaborate. The NASA website does something similar. ...okay? Anyone got better info?

Make a wish... and have it horribly corrupted!
GreeningGalaxy replied to vexx32's topic in Forum Games!
They are, but they only have 15 layers and resolutions comparable to flip phones from the 2000s. Could be useful for making tiny gifs in GIMP/Photoshop, though! I wish for more exclamation points, because I ran out after putting one in that last sentence. -
I really like to imagine that the galaxy is teeming with plant life. (and other life too, but who doesn't love plants? And no, no one's saying they'll actually be green on other planets.) Actual wording inspired by Arthur C. Clarke, specifically the Greening of Europa from 2010. Basically I just love plants and galaxies and alliteration, so there we have it.

It's just as painful as normally being burned alive, except that you don't actually burn. You just feel like you're burning, forever. I wish you would turn the flame in your avatar back on! -
God I hate that show so much.
-
I'm glad to hear that, because from watching their video and looking at that nice white open space on their 'sponsors' page, I'm not sure I would be confident in those guys completing an economically-stable space station in low orbit in KSP, let alone in real life. I'm also still completely unconvinced that refueling station construction and upkeep would be in any way more efficient than just building better heavy-lifters, but I digress.

10/10, quote I wish I'd thought of! for those asking, my sig references the Novikov self-consistency principle, which states that anything that could cause a temporal paradox (i.e. time travel) is impossible, by virtue of paradoxes being impossible by definition. "All the fun stuff" refers to FTL drives like Alcubierre fields and Krasnikov tubes which, due to their ability to get ahead of a beam of light, can be said to travel in time (create a closed timelike curve, to be exact) and thus may be prohibited by the universe because paradoxes are impossible. Hopefully some of that made sense?

(already done yours, Endersmens ) Its species-swapped (or trollmode) Jade Harley from Homestuck. I forget who drew it (it's not from the comic) but I should probably credit that. :x I liked watching the little flame, too! 10/10 for Overfloater's adorable rocket avatar even without the engine burning. -
