Yeah, BIG vote for Steam here. Just some of the reasons I like Steam for games like this... Just as the previous poster said, very easy screen shot management. Here's mine. But one very big reason I use Steam only is because I don't have to trust yet another company with my CC number. I don't have to worry about another company on the list getting their system hacked an my card number compromised. Another reason is there is community review of products there along with some interesting conversation like in the KSP forums.

Wrote up a mission report, but it's too long and picture heavy to post it in this thread.
-
The report is long and picture heavy so I'll just post a link to it here. One of the nice things about this game is that it allows you play, outside the game too.

SSTOs! Post your pictures here~

No, the jets don't work on Tylo. The jets are used to help it get up from Kerbin and Laythe. -

Here is another SSTO-VTOL craft of mine that I took to Tylo. It's not SSTL on tylo but it's still SSTO there... -
Nevermind, Necro-Thread.
-
Anyone know the required Delta Velocity for landing and then ascending back into a low orbit around Tylo? This is assuming the craft is already in a low Tylo orbit. The orbit velocity of low Tylo orbit is 2170.

Challenge: Build a Mobile SSTO-VTOL
Bothersome replied to Bothersome's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Well I wasn't satisfied with the original craft in the OP, so I made another one that performs a little better. But mostly smaller and lighter, 84 stock parts at 40.08 tons. You can download this one if you like from post #12 in my Complany Thread. It's got all the details listed there. It should meet all the requirements of the challenge although they all have not been tested yet. Landing on Tylo is still yet to be tested but that one seems kind of scary for this craft. -
What so you think is going to be in the .22 update?
Bothersome replied to Titan Space Agency's topic in KSP1 Discussion
We probably won't get anything we can actually make much use of. Hopefully though, they'll fix the SAS completely and fix a couple of other bugs at least. Seems like it would be real easy to get some of those modders to add some parts too, but that seems to be going real slow. -
Well, it's a normal thing, I think, once you've done all the explore this and explore that missions you can dream up. Next,... Start a company and see if you can make better and more efficient craft for doing actual work than everybody else. We gotta compete some how. So get to building. Here's my company thread. What can you put together?

Challenge: Build a Mobile SSTO-VTOL
Bothersome replied to Bothersome's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Bean thats a very interesting craft. How much does it weigh? I see extras like satalite dish and antenna. I notice you have a nuke engine on it. That's impressive you were able to get such a heavy engine up. I don't see any RCS so I suppose the fuel station has to bring the fuel. Good work. -

Oh you don't have to fly it to Laythe under it's own power, a transport/refueler craft can be used to take it to Laythe first... It only needs to land and take-off again to be able to get more fuel for the next Island/moon. Still impressed as all hell. -

I thought that might be what they were. I just needed to know for sure... I didn't know they float well though, thanks. -

Sean, that's impressive craft. Would it qualify for the mission, which is to explore the Islands on Laythe? If so, I'd give credit. Also, what about landing on Ike, Tylo, and Vali, could it land and take-off on those? Yargnit, what is that round thingy that looks like footing in your picture? Is that a stock part? -

Magnificent work Pirke, and congrats to Yargnit. You guys really got what it takes to master this game. I'm impressed, a Rover SSTO craft is not an easy thing to do. Mine is actually the third remake of making a mobile VTOL-SSTO. Weighing about 48 tons. The early iterations were too heavy to make any use of them. Even on Duna, mine will pop tires on some up-slopes at about 15m/s. But, it gives the Kerbal something to do. Let's see if anyone else has "The Right Stuff". -

I was not able to do it without Jets. That is to meet the requirements in the challenge. -

Nice plane KissSh0t, I see you've outdone yourself. -
I've noticed a lot of phantom pulling on my larger crafts (usually ones that have plenty of struts) as they get into Mun's SOI. They just randomly start spinning when before entering the SOI they were steady. Stopping the spin is only temporary, they start spinning again pretty soon. SAS can hold a craft from spinning, but it eventually starts straining. If I don't time accelerate occasionally, it will eventually rip the craft apart. It's done this for a couple of updates so far, but it's gotten worse it seems in 0.21. Another thing I've noticed is SAS cannot hold a plane's wing level sometimes. Here is a test you can do also if you want to see what I mean. Download this stock plane the KT-130 and start a flight. You don't need to go into space. Just take off and let SAS fly it. Sometimes it flies level for a long while, other times it will start rolling to the right. This is SAS doing it not the plane. You can turn off SAS and the plane doesn't roll (most times). Restart the flight and do the same thing. Don't change anything on the plane and do that test several times. It seems to behave differently every flight. I'd say about 50% of the flights, the SAS is screwy. One time I tried it, SAS could fly straight as an arrow, but then I couldn't on manual, it kept wanting to pull hard to the right, yet SAS could fly it. Most times it's the other way. All this without changing anything from flight to flight. I have not noticed this behavior on smaller planes. Could it be the build, the size, or SAS doing this? We could use some feedback on this or else it might go unfixed for some time. I don't know what else can be done to the plane, it was built with symmetry on and full attention to detail to prevent just this type thing.

A Jet engine weighs about 1.5 and the intake weighs 0.1. Squad should make a change, the engine 1.0 and the intake 0.6. That would kind of fix that stacking thing wouldn't it?

It's an old trick I've used many times before and still have some larger craft that I still use occasionally when the mission needs that equipment. I still use some Jet assisted designes even in my modern equipment lineup. Just a couple to look at...

How about Kerbana? As in Kerbana Kuba. -
OP made me LOL, and now you are being bothered. Lovely community we have here btw.
