The Delta IV Orion Launch... RECORDING HERE! (Soon)
Reddragon replied to ZooNamedGames's topic in Science & Spaceflight
This morning sight is beautiful. I can't remember the last time I've seen a launch with this perfect background. -
Hmm.. this is interesting. I didn't know Yutu has an RTG. But of course, to make it work during the lunar night it needs something more than the solar panels.
-
I believe the TMK was discussed before.

Oh, I see. I didn't know where to put 'Mir class'. That's rather possible. I wouldn't be entirely sure about that. There is co-operation but there is certainly a race in the background. The two doesn't contradict each other.
-
The Chinese and Indian space program is closing up to be in a race with each other (if they aren't already), not to mention the tensions between the two countries. Tiangong, as of now is a one module station and CNSA wouldn't let Indian astronauts work on it alone, even if they could. Maybe in the 20's when there will be a multi-module Chinese Tiangong in orbit and politics will allow it but chances are ISRO will have it's own experimental station by then. I don't say it's impossible but highly unlikely.
-
That won't happen but India can have it's own orbital station in the future. And if they are going to use manned spacecraft, they most possibly will have one. It's basically the square one for manned space exploration especially for a spacecraft with only a few days of life support.

Beale! I think 'I' may have found a solution for the Proton 3rd stage vernier issue. I don't know if anyone came up with the idea before. I downloaded Horizon Aeronautics and realized that the Zenit's second stage engine also has verniers and the particle effects on them are different. Here's the link to the mod if you want to take a look at it: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/16866-Horizon-Aeronautics-Development-Thread

To be honest, I don't think you should change the thrust that much or if you do, maybe to 300 rather than anything lower. Engines are tweakable so is somebody want to use them with lower thrust, they can just lower it in game. But to build a 3 stage rocket (Zenit, Dnepr...) without the boosters 250 max. might not be enough for moderately heavy payloads.

If it was in KSP, it would have just fallen back into the silo.

Hmm... so Russian ships can sail through Scandinavia and Scotland. That's an astonishing technology!

Oops! Thanks, it wasn't in the TantaresLV folder. Now it's fine. Yes, there are! ESA is launching Soyuz rockets from Kourou independently.

It's kind of weird but I only get 2 parts in the game. The Tavio SA(1) and the CEM( engine, though all the files are in the folder. I see now: The other parts' own folders have these two's .mbm files. Is that intentional cause of the beta?

I think this color scheme fits to your other parts well. The Almach adapter is also orange like. I also prefer the white on most of the fuel tank rather than the grey.

Or if the ISS won't be continued a possible new independent US space station could house a crew of 6-7 and sending them at once is much cheaper. The Commercial Crew Program wont be halted with the ISS. It is meant to cover every LEO operations of NASA from now on.

PTK NP: future russian spaceship interior (2013 video)
Reddragon replied to 1greywind's topic in Science & Spaceflight
That's why I said the descent module. The orbital module is additional space but it's good to have. So far PTK seems to be a luxurious spacecraft. I think it's inauguration flight is planned for 2018. -

Reddragon replied to 1greywind's topic in Science & Spaceflight
'Real' = mockup. Well, the Soyuz descent module isn't what I'd call roomy. PTK seems to have more room but Dragon may have more if they don't use a 7 crew version, but that isn't meant to be a deep space vehicle. The shuttle was probably the most comfortable. -

Here's a real life picture of the CST: Wasmic is right. The pod is way too flat.

Orbital Sciences Cygnus launch scrubbed because of a boat
Reddragon replied to SpaceXray's topic in Science & Spaceflight
That's true. For some reason I still like the Proton very much. Maybe it's because of it's history with Zond. Soyuz is more elegant though. -
Orbital Sciences Cygnus launch scrubbed because of a boat
Reddragon replied to SpaceXray's topic in Science & Spaceflight
So it applies more for the Soyuz launcher and not the Russians themselves considering the Proton is also Russian. That means this 'joke' makes no sense. I'm just saying, this failure/success debate is getting old. -

How about keeping these stupid comments and attitude out of the KSP community?
