  1. Achievements Plugin 1.4.1 is now available for download, with minor changes and new achievements as usual. Update note: When updating the plugin, make sure to keep the achievements.dat file in the plugin's folder. If you delete it, all your earned achievements are lost.

  3. You don't need those wings in the middle. In fact, they will make it harder to turn the rocket in the atmosphere.
  4. Wrong. While ascending, what's keeping you from getting into orbit is drag. So the faster you get out of the atmosphere, the better. Also, as long as you're not in a stable orbit, gravity is pulling on your vessel. You need to burn fuel to counteract that. So again, the faster you can leave gravity behind you, the better. As soon as you start your gravity turn by leaning to the side at 10 km, go FULL throttle.
  5. I don't. But I'm not implying he's stupid just because of scarce information.
  6. Perhaps you two guys shouldn't post at all if you're not wanting to be helpful.
  7. It doesn't matter, as I have been trying to point out. The total number of science points you can get from an experiment, be it by transmission or by returning, stays the same.
  8. You forget that you can return the rock multiple times, too. It does not matter if you transmit the data or return it, the total amount of science you get from a single experiment stays the same.
  9. Which doesn't diminish the total amount of science you get from doing an experiment. You just need to execute and transmit it more often.
  10. As soon as the Kerbal holding the surface sample climbs into a pod, the surface sample is stored inside that pod. You need to recover that exact pod to get the points. Recovering a different pod will gain you nothing if it isn't part of the same vessel.
  11. You cannot save anything as a subassembly that has the root part of the craft in it. The root part is the part that you started to build the craft with, usually the command pod.
  12. Rather than going through every part of the vessel, use this: vessel.FindPartModulesImplementing<ModuleDeployableSolarPanel>();
  13. That's just how players (and people in general) are: Lazy. If there's nothing to contribute, they won't. If the barrier to contribution is too high, they won't. You could get a million downloads of your mod, and if everything is fine and dandy, you wouldn't get a single feedback post. Time to come up with a "catchy" title then. You can also always try and improve the overall presentation.
  14. Quite a lot of players seem to be confused about diminishing returns on doing the same experiment again and again versus the transmission penalty instead of recovering the vessel. As you correctly pointed out, it does not matter if you transmit the data or recover the vessel. Transmitting it just takes longer.
  15. Yesterday I did a single trip to Jool and its moons. I've visited them all except for Bop, most of them in either high and low orbit. I can't exactly tell how much science I got, but it must have been over 5000. All in all, I had a lot of fun doing the mission, Jool's moons are pretty easy to use to navigate around the whole system.
  16. FWIW, my advice would be this: Get used to it. Yes, it's pretty darn frustrating if you get down and do something, and share it with the world, only to find out that only a minority is interested in it. Or even if you get quite some thread views, only a minority of those readers actually posts on the thread. Do recognize that the KSP community is quite large. This means the actual audience "share" for a single mod author is only so small. It will get even smaller the more "niche" your mod is. That's just the way it is. Get used to it.
  17. No. There's a folder Achievements-1.4.0\GameData\blizzy - that's the one you drop into GameData. In general, I think that goes for any mod currently, just look for a folder named GameData. Whatever is in there, drop that into your GameData folder. Sometimes there are other folders besides the GameData, drop their contents into the respective KSP folders. (Except when they say something like "DO_NOT_INSTALL," of course.)
  18. As long as you don't have access to the radial parachutes, just bring two. After that, mount it at the top where the stack mounted parachute was.
  19. Hmm? Try right-clicking the file KSP\GameData\blizzy\Achievements\Achievements.dll, then open the "Details" tab. Under "... version", it should say "1.4.0.0".
  20. I don't like the tone of this. But that's just me personally.
  21. Oh ok, sorry, I saw that one. Anyway, as Jack Wolfe said, the detail is just amazing.
