    I left Kerbin's SOI on a Solar mission before even a Mun or Minmus landing, but still have not done an interplanetary mission. There is a probe going to Jool soon, and I think the window afterward is a Duna or Eve window, so a manned mission to Duna/Ike or Gilly is coming next.

    People on this thread: The weird oscillations in your orbit about the apoapsis and periapsis are caused by the motion of your command pod. It is not random.
