  1. Nope, the science gain percentage from transmissions is fixed (without a science lab). If you want to gain more you will need to recover the craft.
  2. Because there is no storyline in KSP? Because there is no comprehensible dialogue in KSP? Because Kerbals are basically asexual plant-people that just want to fly spaceships? Why should relationships be forced into situations where they don't belong? Fan fiction in general can be REALLY weird though so I don't go anywhere near it and as a result I won't know if KSP "shipping" ever exists at any point in time. People are welcome to do it if they want though, the internet is a broad and free place after all. However, to ask the question why there isn't "shipping" on the forums of what is essentially an E rated sandbox game is a bit weird, you will have better luck on a fan-fiction specialist forum/board/website.
  3. 9/10, I can't see what he's pointing at.
  4. My concern for the environment ends at the borders of KSC, spent stages or debris landing outside of this zone are not in my jurisdiction and and any issues residents of Kerbin have regarding such matters should be taken up with their government representative and local sanitation department.
  5. Sᴄɪɴᴛɪʟʟᴀᴛᴏʀ The custom typeface is probably what did it! Evidently not supported by their new system
  6. Wow, this is looking really good. I think I'll be waiting until 1.1 with Unity 5 to actually use it though since functional mods take precedence for me when it comes to the limited resources KSP can dedicate to them with 32 bit.
  7. Something went badly wrong, please send a rescue mission. EDIT: I think I'll keep it, Jeb works in mysterious ways...
  8. It gives you the freedom to run your own space program as well as the freedom to design, build and launch your own rockets. If you find any one of those things fun then THAT is why you will find KSP fun. For me, its the advanced Newtonian physics system and the sense of wonder I get from exploration.
  9. We humans don't have a great history of treating creatures we consider lesser than ourselves when it comes to scientific experimentation. I don't believe putting your faith in a species that would likely consider us a lesser being is a particularly good idea if you don't want your organs to be dissected on a stainless steel tray.
  10. I really wanted at least one other star system to be in the game before 1.0, I didn't get the impression that there would be from the Beta article. Nearly everything else I want from KSP has already been created by the talented modding community or has already been announced by Squad to be in production relatively soon.
  11. I do forget sometimes that KSP is still in Alpha. I think the addition of multiplayer will bring the desired playerbase growth you mention regardless of when they add it though.
  12. I presume when they were unable to work or look after themselves they would be euthanised and buried or ejected from the airlock depending on the location. It sounds callous but the whole mission is a big suicide pill in the first place and wouldn't happen in reality.
  13. Build a space station in Moho orbit, challenging but fun.
  14. Try putting the resolution down to half res, it can help reduce crashes due to running out of RAM.
  15. That heat retention can only do so much, Titan has an atmosphere 1.2 times the size of Earth's yet it clocks in at a chilly −179.5 °C. How would it get its oxygen-rich atmosphere without plant-life? It would be extremely unlikely to find an oxygen-rich atmosphere without photosynthesis and at well bellow the melting point of carbon dioxide photosynthesis is impossible. Regardless, once you start taking liberties such as dimension changes where do you stop and say Laythe as seen in game can't exist with real world physics as per the OP question?
  16. That isn't the question and they aren't but if you took that liberty you still face the question of why the global temperature on Laythe can reach as high as 6°C. Mars as represented by Duna is -20°C on average and at much further away Laythe should be a snowball. The heating effect from a gas giant isn't that significant with all of jupiter's moons having average temperatures well bellow -100°C. In fact, Europa can get down to around ~-225°C which is bad news for Laythe since Oxygen melts at ~-219°C.
  17. Well NASA can't just quickload if they smash some solar panels.
