  1. The all new STS Service Module v.3 is now available for download! KIS Containers all around. One of them plays an April fools joke on Jeb.
  2. They fixed the freeze for KIS. not as buggy. STS Service Module v.3 is right around the corner.
  3. No worries. Glad to hear others are able to fly it though. I'm guessing he might have FAR? Either or, I recommend anyone having difficulty getting the empty shuttle up, to try instead filling all tanks and installing the STS Fuel Pod cargo and lift that up. - - - Updated - - - No worries on the spoiler, but you can do (spoiler=name) some text here (/spoiler) and use brackets instead of (). Congratulations Mission Specialist! These are yours: You need to give your shuttle a name though (or you can use an existing name) in order for me to install your name and post in the Astronaut Corps. Do you have Space Shuttle name?
  4. Are you using FAR? Try a different approach. Fill up all the tanks and slap in the STS Fuel Module. Lift off with that. It should be easier to fly.
  5. You know, that's not really helpful. A FAQ on the OP would be even more helpful. Perhaps you can assemble one if you're tired of answering a million times the same question? Also, yes I've read the last three pages already of the thread, and GitHub, and no my quoted concerns you implied would be answered by such were not addressed anywhere (i know there are plans for smaller containers, but my intent was more for a "when" than just "yes plans") as that is addressed the OP - before I posted. So what exactly are you saying?
  6. Any way for KIS to allow a Kerbal on EVA to grab and carry items such as containers without having to drop them in space where they might float off? Currently I have to be in range of a floating container and a mount point to grab a rogue container and mount it. If the container floats too far away, I have no means to grab it and carry it back to within mounting range of the mount. Also I lose all EVA controls to the KIS placement controls on grab which means if I am floating out of range, I can't EVA maneuver back into position. Very frustrating. I really wish if KIS were intended to complement KAS that it would at least mimic deprecated KAS container EVA control and carry behavior. It would make things easier to adapt. Also would really love half size containers. Any plans? Great job so far. Loving the EVA inventory.
  7. STS Service Module conversion to KIS would be easy? No?! Heck no. Way no. 7 hours into testing... no. Then KAS bugging the durned textures load ruining some prime screenshot opportunity. Then KIS containers just not fitting. Then KIS being the KIS of death with it freezing while moving containers from one mount to another on EVA. What a bug. At least the KAS modified Xoknight Class (named in honor of Xoknight) Utility MMUs look and work AWESOME!! Here they are in the bay, at the moment of the KIS KSP game freeze of death. Anyways... well... so much for conversion. This "fix" for KAS deprecating containers is waiting for a "fix" from KIS devs. I knew, just knew this wasn't going to be a happy journey... untested mods.... ok, I've got it all off my chest now. *sniff...7 hours... I do it for you guys 'cause I love y'all. Argh. time to play WoT to work it off... oh and here's another pic of the Utility MMUs:
  8. KospY, and company, I'm running into a consistent freeze bug when transferring a container from one mount to another. I can grab free floating containers and mount them fine (sometimes) but I can consistently reproduce KSP freezes the instant I grab a mounted container and attempt to remount it on another mount. In this screenshot I simply grabbed the container from one side and moved it to the other. I did remove one box and it's free floating in the bay behind the camera. Three restarts. Three freezes. All mods updated. Don't mind the white bay texture load fail (another annoying bug with KSP/KAS). This is the moment of the freeze. Everytime. Based on your first reported mission, you have earned the following ratings: Feel free to complete additional missions/qualifications and award yourself whatever you achieve in your forum signature and elsewhere! That wing collision bug with KSC and wing parts will hopefully be eliminated in 1.0 KSP. For now, landing at KSC Island is a safer alternative. - - - Updated - - - Try a fresh download. Maybe it's bugged? Weird. The shuttle should fly easy without having to adjust fuel amounts for any cargo (although cargo of 10-20 tons will require filling the central External Tank tank. If you do adjust fuel, leave the boosters alone except when lifting off with the STS Fuel Pod cargo (in which case filling the boosters is required if you hope to make it to orbit). Have you see the videos that show how to adjust fuel? Watch the STS-4 Showcase File and the STS-1 video.
  11. I 105th nominate the idea of having KIS take up the KAS containers and mounts. I have a number of legacy crafts that would suffer the day KAS gets rid of them. Can you pretty please add the KAS containers and mounts to this mod? If anything keep the size aethetics if you keep KAS (but use the KIS volume formula to manage its items) so I don't have to redesign precious space with the new overly large KIS containers.
  12. Just testing the all-new Service Module with KIS containers... after the Space Shuttle exploded in accidental KIS bomb detonation experiment... It's quite resilient!

  15. Wow incredible video! Brought a tear to me eye seeing a glimpse of the old Proton H over Duna. I still have yet to rescue the test pilot who landed her with fumes to spare. I recognized lots of great craft in there! Cupcake, Kat, and others. Awesome video!

Space Probes: Planetary Rovers: Planetary Landers: (someone made pineapple design.. hunting it down) Mun Rockets/Landers: GusTurbo's Saturbo V - simply amazing Shuttles: Westi29's Stock Shuttle SSTOs: Rune's Whitedart Series (although I have a mind to give him a run for his...um... credits when I work on my own SSTO lifter ) (never really got the hang of Cupcake's dropships) Station Packages: Mad Rocket's Station in a Box Base Packages: In all seriousness this is the most awesome base ever: avaslash Download Motherships: i think it was kat again, this time with a massively awesome mothership from the BBC series Voyage to the Planets. Constellation Pack: Majorjim's Constellation pack is a top contender in my mind.
  17. Did you download Infernal Robotics, Tweakscale, and Kerbal Attachment System? I just redownloaded them all tonight, and installed them with only one ModuleManager.2.5.10.dll, then loaded a vanilla KSP, downloaded a fresh STS-4, and a fresh STS Service Module from KerbalX, opened the shuttle in VAB, and went to the subassembly list, and there the STS Service Module was. Is this what you're doing? - - - Updated - - - Awesome!

  19. Search Google for STS press kit for any mission number and it will show the cargo bay. Useful for making subs!
