  1. Your station point calc for being built with shuttles sounds reasonable.
  2. Actually, now that I think about it, I wonder if I could modify the Proton U to be a KAS and Karbonite modcraft for use with your station challenge. Hmm. I might actually have a use for a Proton Utility shuttlecraft...
  3. any special points for launching and building a station almost entirely with a space shuttle?
  4. I just dusted off my SSI crafts. Proton IV, Neutron III are practically ready. The Proton T needs some offset attention, but the Proton H needs me to fly it again to Duna in .90 to prove its capability before publishing. Proton U is practically written off with cupcake besting anything I could ever have done in turning it into a utility dropship. I want to get you a new Proton T. Still working on it but these late nights are starting to take their toll. I need a small break from late night KSP to recoup. But I will try to get you a new Proton T this week if I can.
  5. Awesome! I still have them too. I have a Proton IV (1 seat) and a Neutron III (2 seats) built for .25. I also developed a Proton T2 (3 seats) which flies fine but needs some offset love to hide a few edges. The all new Proton H (1 seat) is practically ready for flight trials from Kerbin to Duna. It make it to Duna in .22. The Proton U was um... ok. But the Proton series is just too small for utility dropship work. I guess I will have to cede that niche to Cupcake. Besides my dream of inspiring engineers to develop subassemblies has sort of moved into the STS, which is actually which I prefer now for most of my medium to heavey tonnage LKO utility and space program needs. However before I work on the tedium that is laid out above to make them all .90 aesthetically ready, I have an itch to build my first STS Fuel Pod capable SSTO spaceplane... inigma style... to my exacting design requirements. Rune has a huge lead in this area, as do a few other engineers. But that was true of the state of space shuttles before I went shopping for one and couldn't find one that satisfied all my needs... heh. Necessity is the mother of invention, eh?
  6. I saw that Proton T. Looked very familiar indeed! Now you've forced me to republish my SSTOs... I know what I'm doing tonight! Your station is looking great so far!
  7. So awesome to see another Proton T docked orbit! you made my day.
  8. That sucks. Reward yourself with your next level of Mission Specialist to console the families of the lost crew since the shuttle was destroyed by bad weather at KSC. - - - Updated - - - Looking fantastic!
  9. Here is my latest STS mission, delivering the STS Hubble Space Telescope for my Mission Specialist IV mission: 1st attempt: 2nd attempt: A mission to deploy the HST developed by xoknight. This mission also was run to test the new KMU MMU developed by Rune which unfortunately nearly goes all HAL on him. Inigma unintentionally demonstrates the water landing emergency procedure for the STS-4 Space Shuttle. Earn your Astronaut badge today. 13. I will have my revenge. One day... EDIT: The shuttle was named Enterprise if you want to put it in the registry Bad weather at KSC. Bug in .90. Wings like to sheer off. Land at the island to avoid the uh...bad weather. Lol great attempt! You have been added to the astronaut corps!

  15. Congratulations on a very well done flight! You have earned your Astronaut badge and all three qualification badges! Nice job, Commander! Very beautiful album too! I will make one of the pics a desktop pic! Here are your badges:
  16. Ooh please make a subassembly! Btw, everyone: I have updated the STS Space Shuttle Challenges OP with the entire merit tree. Now you can work on your missions to earn all the way up to a Commander IV forum badge! Enjoy! http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/112399-STS-Space-Shuttle-Challenges-PROVE-YOUR-PILOTING-METTLE-Earn-a-Badge!
  17. New OP! Current winners grandfathered in. I indexed all the awards, including the honorary awards such as Flight Director. To make running this program easier, simply post what you want me to review, or award yourself! I essentially made all the badges follow a logical tree that anyone can follow. Let me know if you have questions, else post your submissions for the Hall of Fame, and/or post your mission progress for all to see!
  18. Unfortunately only an honorary award to keep it fair to the STS Astronaut Corps and Hall of Fame contenders. However you've earned the following honorary award! Awesome job! Making shuttles is not easy.
  19. Awesome mission! Love the KSC Island landing for your first time. Now THAT takes skill. Congratulations, Commander! These are yours: STS Astronaut STS Mission Specialist Qualification STS Pilot Qualification STS Commander Qualification Feel free to wear one or any of them in your forum signature or show off elsewhere! I have added you to the STS Astronaut Corps! I hope to draft the remaining missions in the next two days.
  20. Great job! Welcome to the STS Astronaut Corps! You are also now on the leaderboard! You have also earned the following: STS Mission Specialist Qualification STS Mission Specialist I The Pilot Qualification and Pilot I ratings now require a true-to-NASA-fashion roll program between launch and your gravity turn, essentially flying the shuttle with the tail facing the ocean upside down until about 50km MECO (Main Engine Cut Off) with a roll over to separate the tank downward. Since it may not have been clear when you did your attempt, these are yours too. All further posters will be required to do a roll program tail facing ocean after launch and before a gravity turn, and a roll back up for MECO and External Tank separation. STS Pilot Qualification STS Commander Qualification STS Pilot I
  21. A docking adapter to attach with the STS Operations module would be really useful. The adapter should attach to the rear of the bay so it can undock and then the pilot could the dock the Ops or Service module to it and then dock with a station or another shuttle. Some people have asked that the ops and service mods be extended in this way. And perhaps a Station in a Cargo Bay 3 module package for use with one of the STS Challenges. Also would like to see a cargo bay sized ssto capable of landing on kerbin and back up and redocking in the bay. And then there are real NASA STS mission cargo replicas... I dunno. The imagination's the limit!
