  1. I was thinking categories more along the lines of what one would shop for like launchers, rovers, landers etc.
  2. Was wondering if we could poll various best known craft designs for different categories to make shopping for a craft or idea easier for newcomers to begin their space program or reverse engineering journeys. Feasible for .90 package? Stock only? What crafts do you recommend for new players looking to complete career or reverse engineer designs: Apollo Recreations Launcher Series Rovers Space Station Packages Ground Base Packages Planetary Landers Runway Based SSTOs ...any other categories?
  3. Has anyone here tried downloading and reverse engineering my successful mk3 shuttle? 0-42 ton payloads to 300km orbits and higher. 282 all stock parts. No tweaking necessary except fuel amounts. See link in my sig for the STS Space Shuttle download. SAS is a very Kerbalized solution for lack of gimbal. 300k credits per flight, 2/3rds of that are recoverable. Glides well.

  5. Anyone have any pics or craft files for a descent cargo plane with KAS winches for securing cargo? Larger the better. Ill turn this into a showcase thread as soon as I find a pic. I'm just looking for ideas people have come up with for transporting through thr atmosphere heavy loads. Our gaming group has a need for one, so craft files would be appreciated. Here is what I made on the gaming server before .90: Cargo Airlifter III I used it to transport anything I could winch to it. Winched above is the UtilityCat truck I designed. Very useful truck. The airlifter was even more so. I could carry a large tonnage with it winched in, which I used to transport various bases, and modules, and Karbonite mining rigs with. Beautiful and capable drone cargo plane, but ugly as all get out. I know I can do better. I just need ideas to uh... borrow.
  6. When updating your winners list, you should hyperlink to their entries for easy comparison.
  7. You know... someone could create a Buran launch stack and attach it to the STS orbiter as a subassembly. There is a single mount point on the Intrepid orbiter just for this purpose. In fact the tank and boosters are held by the single separator. Ill publish any successful tank and booster stack subassembly anyone comes up with.
  8. Thanks for the suggestion, but personally I'm not all that interested in the Buran design. You guys seem to already have a good design collaboration going though and I fully support it! Feel free to use the Intrepid orbiter and tweak it as necessary if desired. My focus now is on subassemblies for the STS (STS 51-L is next) a new modpack for my KSP multiplayer gaming buddies, and updating my SSI vtol ssto shuttlecraft for a much overdue SSI catalog reboot. I'll be glad to test fly anyone's Buran though!
  9. Wow. Shuttle name? Also, if you developed a better arm and module, is there a subassembly? If so share the subassembly download link and I'll publish it in the OP! I only need the tonnage of such, and the mods used, to complete the index.
  10. Help me understand this. Is KIS a replacement for KAS then? Or are you saying in order to keep KAS in the future and use containers, I need to now also install KIS? Could KIS be merged with KAS so we don't have to manage two additional mods for what KAS was already doing before?
  11. Thanks for the heads up. I am not sure I follow though. Is KAS saying they are no longer going to be having containers in future KAS versions? And if people want containers they will have to install the separate KIS mod? Can KIS do the same thing as KAS when its stand alone?
  12. I'm not fond of Realism, but I guarantee that if you fly it with RO, and draft a flight profile, I'll spoilerize it in the OP.
  13. Maybe the Architect should compete. Unlisted of course . Roll program and all.
  14. and then I made this bigger brother... and not to forget the Proton base model: and of course nobody can forget the SSI Ion, the Tesla Roadster of the skies: could never decide which one to submit, but now that the challenge appears over, I'd thought I'd crash the after-party with this Duna capable VTOL SSTO, the Proton H
  15. Challenger will be remembered in a separate video, with any 1.0 shuttle dedicated in such memory.
  16. Rebuilt my SSI Proton T SSTO shuttlecraft into this, an SSI Proton XT:
  17. Rebuilt the SSI Proton T Type-3 Shuttlecraft from .23 to this SSI Proton XT .90 Beta Type-4 Shuttlecraft:
