  1. Fuel load is your only real launch tweak. Try using less fuel first. Then add until you find the balance. SAS always needs to be on. If you really want to get technical, try to move just a bit of fuel from the top to lower tanks. Also load your payload lower. Also feel free to engineer payload bay ballast. I find the balance usually by only adjusting fuel amounts. Experiment. It should work to make the lurch less. I engineered this shuttle with the idea to keep it simple - namely only fuel amount tweaking is all that is or should be needed.
  2. Glad to hear it! I've landed in the ocean many times... heh. And yes the cockpit always seems to survive if you do it right. - - - Updated - - - That sounds awesome! Come back here and post a link to your entry so others can know! - - - Updated - - - Thank you SO MUCH Starwhip. You're awesome! I did discover this: Looks like the fuselodge for the OMS is shorter than the adapter plate and the nosecone, and thus looks disconnected from both. Is this something that can be fixed? If so, then you'd have an absolutely perfect render. Here is my cropped version if you want an idea on the crop result I was looking for:
  3. Rocket builder threads are not listed since there is a separate forum for them (and i dont feel like duplicating already excellent work). If you have a main spacecraft exhange forum catalog though, that's different. Do you have one?
  4. Thank you Sampa! I like the feedback. Makes all this work worthwhile. Video soon! Starwhip and DMSP, your advanced copies of the unreleased STS-4 and its secret subassembly have been PMmed to you for your contributions to this project. Everyone else, STS-4 will be released, video or not, by Friday this week if not earlier. Keep a look out!
  5. You know, I was reserving post #100 (which is the entry level to being nominated for Epic Engineer in the Master Showcase thread), to post a magnum opus of magnum opuses - an epic video I'm working on (now 80% complete) showcasing the all-new and yet-to-be-released STS-4 Space Shuttle with sub updates and and all new amazing stock elevator sub, but... Your support request is more important. Anyways, yes it's intended for the nose landing gear to be recessed into the cockpit via the offset tool. You will need to hit key G for landing gear to deploy all three. I'm not aware of there being a defect in the STS-3 gear design, but just in case your copy has it bugged, you might need to zoom into the cockpit, and enable the nose landing gear for the Landing Gear action group. STS-4 is right around the corner and it is perfect. I mean it. Over three weeks of testing it and putting it through its paces while shooting 100s of video takes (for a 9 min movie), it will probably stay STS-4 until 1.0 comes out. I hope to release it this week along with the subs, and my all-new amazing awesome epic STS Space Shuttle showcase movie. Stay tuned. Let me know if you have any other issues with the STS-3.
  6. 60 metric ton Lifter - Note: full credit to Kurotenshi for the fairings and inspiration for the ullage motors comes from GusTurbo's Saturbo V. I suck at making them so I just stole borrowed his. This one takes inspiration from the Proton rocket in its first stage setup, but lifts much more payload and only uses four engines instead of six http://i.imgur.com/lG0GvRl.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/JrL8B74.png Edit: so yeah, I accidentally overwrite the 60t lifter... quite angry about that. Will have to rebuild now, shouldn't be to bad but it's still frustrating. Can I haz craft file pls when done?
  7. That was the best Kerbalized approximation of the astrovan that looked still awesome and...didn't explode.
  8. The STS-4 and a scene from a new video I'm making for it and all its subassemblies (the elevator is a subassembly too). The shuttle and subs are all done. The video is still a WIP. 90% of my filming is complete. Lots of work.
  9. I made a van. (new video soon. this is one of the scenes - you get an exclusive sneak peak as Inigma Kerman, Naito Kerman, Westi Kerman, and Rune Kerman are one of the four mission specialists pictured. The command crew are Jeb, Bill, and Bob, of course.)
  10. Inigma Kerman, Naito Kerman, Rune Kerman, and Westi Kerman prior to filming for the all-new STS-4 Space Shuttle Intrepid launch. I already filmed the launch without it, but I'm adding this modified elevator as a subassembly to the STS Space Shuttle.
  11. The all-new STS-4 Space Shuttle Intrepid undergoing a dress rehearsal docking with Spacedock (SSI HQ) in preparation for a video. All development and testing is done. Now its time for a video. STS-4 will be released and all existing modules updated when filming is done and the video is published. My best shuttle yet. Here's a sneak peak:
  12. It's been an awesome mod, Bio! Sorry to hear, but real life is real life. Hope you can make it back someday soon! Sorry to hear. I wonder if any of the other mod makers whos mods are dependent on Tweakscale will adopt this orphaned project. I informed the Infernal Robotics thread.
  13. Tweakscale owner and developer Biotronic says Tweakscale is no longer supported unless another mod maker takes up the torch. What does this mean for the future of IR? Will IR take the Tweakscale torch, or will IR's dependency on Tweakscale be its downfall? http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/80234-0-90-TweakScale-Rescale-Everything!-%28v1-50-2014-12-24-10-40-UTC%29?p=1723237&viewfull=1#post1723237 Thought I'd sound the alarm here.
  14. Yukon, this is a video catalog. Need video and craft file in your post if you're gonna post here. Please update your post!
  15. Neat series! You are welcome to use the STS Space Shuttle Intrepid on loan from NASA as a thank you to the Russians for keeping ISS running. Can lift 42 tons to 300km if needed. Comes with subassemblies you might find useful for the rest of your fleet. See link to the STS in my sig below if intetested!
  16. The STS ComSats payload (single subassembly!): The ComSat payload subassembly paired with the STS Service Module subassembly above:
  17. Tonight. Testing the newly released STS ComSat subassembly with the STS Service Module subassembly for my STS Space Shuttle (see my sig for link). Worked really well!
  18. The STS ComSats (STS-5) payload subassembly package is now released! OP updated. Let me know if you have any issues. Here is the STS Service Module and STS ComSat subassemblies together:
  19. added this awesome thread to the Showcase Master Thread (see link in my sig or Spacecraft Exchange sticky).
