Crystal clear sky since yesterday in the evening and no cloud in sight even now - but I only read about it this morning four hours after the event ... someone throw me an app or newsletter to "warn" me of such events beforehand in the future!

What Are Things You've Heard That Made You Facepalm?
KerbMav replied to michaelsteele3's topic in The Lounge
Reading the high school stories remembers me of my own school times (in Germany and a regular German school, no US-military for a change ) In the 90's there was a TV commercial for a perfume for men, Galileo - and as it seems to be an unwritten law for perfume commercials to show anything unrelated to perfume at all, it was simply a guy dressed like a church official stating that the earth is a disc and an oh-so-manly other guy hammering his fist onto a table shouting "No!". Classroom, history lesson, teacher asks about Galileo (the person) and one of our less sharp mates basically retells the commercial's story, complete with emphasizing it by bumping his fist onto his desk! He did not say anything "wrong", yet ... *sigh* -
I cannot decide who of you two is more cute right now.

Edible mushroom would be the way to go, I think. -
Deep in stage two, arent we?

So by your logic, one does either do everything to sell the exact same product to every market there is without adaptation or ignore other markets completely? Let's see, there is a Batman video game like Arkham City - and there is LEGO Batman ... for sure releasing a product more suitable for children will severely hurt the "Batman brand" and we will never hear or see anything of it again. Squad has been "warned" countless times to change PC gameplay in favor of consoles and they have assured the players that this will not happen, that console development is being outsourced and independent from PC development at Squad HQ. The public backlash of not keeping this promise would be harsh. While avoiding this specifically by withholding even the tiniest piece of information regarding unreleased features still in the planning phase, why should they say something like this now if they plan otherwise?

Conspiracy has it, the change to the bar scene was a first step in getting Disney ... what? who are you?! Let me GOOOO!!

Help me, I cannot remember, what was the reaction to giving KSP to a third party to develop KerbalEDU? Was it also all "oh noooes" - or more like "yes, good thing, make this great game accessible to more players, even those with no own/capable PC at home, so they can enjoy and play at least in school"? Lets say for different consoles the game would indeed have to be cut down a bit to run: lower graphics, simpler "wobble physics", fewer planets, restriction on part count maybe - what still will remain is a fun simulator good enough to teach about rocket science and space flight. My thoughts exactly, not all the comments of course, but a large portion of them. Even a lot of the comments containing technical concerns are filled with less ... lets say "objective expressions". This is the only part that gives me negative thoughts actually, how much of the brand will be controlled by third parties and how will it impact user created content? Maaaax?! Marketingelingeling.

What the title says. Anyone got any tips? Production lines and ressource generation (mines, farms etc.) and transportation, but not only transportation as in Transport Tycoon. Basically something like Settlers or Banished but more detailed and with a currency based economy.

Will length of season vary depending on earth's orbit?

Just because the weather can be winterly - winterly as in story books from our childhood - does not mean winter starts with the first snow. -
You are all so fast readers ... even the audiobook took me weeks ... looks like I am not allotting much time to literature in any form anymore ... I will miss R. C. Bray's voice from the audiobook, but Matt is a good choice I think. And I also think that the trailer is just cut in a way that implies the Hermes crew knows it right away. How I see it, they dumbed down the digital magic trick from hiding a message in a picture to something more visually appealing for the big screen and the photo snippets they rearrange in the trailer is said hidden message. Whoow, we will se Sean Bean breathing until the closing credits!

Everytime I think about the so called reasons my relationship got thrown in my face 19 days ago. Are they? Or are they just the pleasant faces reading from a prompter? -

RoverDude to the rescue!?

Oh, there is more than one?! This is one of these websites that are designed in a way I do not like, to much left and right and moving about.

Is it a photo from set or a pre-post-production still? Because there is no plant life on Mars!

Dude, where do you live and do you have a couch to crash?! Even without a telescope the nightsky at your place must be breathtaking! Forget the couch, I will bring a tent. Last year we went hiking on Corsica - would have made for a beautiful nightsky for sure at 1000+m high, but we had really bad luck weatherwise.

As I understood we can reserve Win10 but delay the actual update as we see fit?

You really must love the "Favorite Old Game" thread ... I know I do ...

Should quitting my job and having more time for gaming really be that easy ... ? I am so lucky that I never had to deal with stubborn teachers like that. It seems they are really more like priests, preaching third-hand truth from their old text books. -

Just edit the launch clamps instead? -
You really should not do that - they hate it.

What is the absolutely first game you remember playing?
KerbMav replied to 11of10's topic in The Lounge
Sim Life - but fun ... I always have been quite bad at establishing a surviving eco system in it, so the nostalgia did not last long. But I played both old Interplay Star Trek adventures again when I got my hands on the versions with voice acting by the original actors. -
Since I do not have US TV over here ... your cooking shows must have a completely different level?!
