  1. So I will vote no, as I think the VTOL crowd should either get a seperate "L-shaped" engine with a 90° rotated outlet or a tweakable maybe even inflight movable outlet.
  2. Cant I leave you alone for a few hours?! 3 ...
  3. Yup, no television in this Dyson sphere ... http://www.seti.org/seti-institute/ata-checks-out-star-kic8462852
  4. Looks like RTGs are indeed quite safe during accidents?
  5. They called it an experiment though. And yes, they are most likely well informed of this latest uproar.

    Riddles

Yay! But I do not know any riddles, so lets wave the three-day-clause and let someone else step up right away.
  7. Modding is not the question here, as developing any game should focus on making it stand on its own, so we should drop that part of the discussion and concentrate on a "stock" solution. So PorkJet said - I do not visit reddit usually - that the part would not vanish in any way? Did anyone suggest a second part to remedy the VTOL situation yet, like the same part in a variation with a 90° rotated outlet - an L-shaped jet engine so to speak? Placement of the attachement node(s) would need some thought still.

A stone in your shoe or something similar?
  9. Yeah, me too ... Well, a rocket build in stock KSP wont get to orbit in RSS even if the engines tanks weight less, no? It would need more fuel - more mass to through behind itself - and to carry more fuel the tanks would have to be bigger - or we need more of them, like I see in lots of RSS videos that do not use procedural fuel tanks. And to avoid having to use more fuel tanks, glueing together stacks and bundles of orange tanks, I thought if it would help to just increase the size - and of course mass and fuel capacity - of every part by some factor similar to the factor by which the planet was enlarged. (Would the textures even still work though ... ?)

Which is the way I learned to do it in school actually ...
  11. Oi, dont you confuse us with facts while we rant over which series is betta!
  12. Rereading pays off - just an experiment you say? OK, the model may offer more realism in the form of showing jet engines to be more than a nozzle, but do we not trade this against a combustion engine that will in most cases be swimming in its fuel ... ? Regarding VTOLS - it really is time we get at least some robotic parts in stock, no?
  13. What was the word? Anthropocentrism? We cannot sit with them in a room, but we can send them our plague ridden food? Maybe we could irradiate it first to kill any germs, now that would be seen as polite, no? Just because we perceive a flower/puppy as beautiful does not mean they will do so as well. Sending them philosophical texts - starting of first contact with a clash of cultures/world views? Also, as always they would have to understand our language first, but I guess the OP assumes they do - although I do not conform to his view that they are peaceful just because they are willing to communicate. What do we have in abundance ... hopefully their spacedrive uses lots of weaponsgrade plutonium and uranium, were they willing to trade that for their superior knowlegde of genetic medicine, rocket science and/or energy production ... we could a double-win/win situation!
  14. What still puzzles me is that you ran out of power exactly the moment you entered Mun's orbit?
