  1. Not many people know what's he's working on. Only a few could say for sure. Vehicles come in all shapes and sizes. All of them are interesting, and fun to model.
  2. Thanks for flagging. If you can also add to the github issues it's really handy, as things get forgotten otherwise. Unfortunately your image is broken, do you know which parts have broken description? I think I accidentally published some of the unfinished soyuz parts to the main branch, so it might be those.
  3. Never really know much about the IRL engine, so tbh you can just use any small vacuum engine and it doesn't matter much. A little burnt out on the MEK project, won't lie, so what I'm going to do is: Tidy up the orbital station, electric engine rig, nuclear reactor, and mars ascent vehicle. The Mars descent vehicle will be shelved, until finished one day (tm). The additional orbital tug, and earth return vehicle will get the same treatment, but they're fuzzier. You'll have to BYOML (Bring yo own mars lander). Release this as a nice polished up release. I know this is a bit of a shame, but motivation comes in bursts. And the MPK (Mars Descent vehicle) can be a bit of a frustrating beast to work on. I also have a small KSP side project I want to work on in the meantime. In the meantime I have added system heat support to the MEK nuclear reactor, radiators.

  5. Probably because that upper stage is legitimately like 6 years old lol. Really nice setup. There are lots of weird upper stages out there that would be great to have, they always just kind of get edged out by other stuff I want to work on. One day maybe. I don't have any MEK updates, sorry guys, not in a KSP mood. Maybe picking up again in a little while. There is still to finish (roughly): Landing leg tweaks. Landing engines. Aero fins. Lander deorbit stage (may just say "use fregat"). IVAs Earth Return Capsule (Modified VA). General balance pass. It's clsoe, it's nearly there, but only the annoying unfun stuff now really.

  7. Heya - this is a new one unfortunately, we hadn't really thought about statics... But, should work! Hmmm, that's really weird. It almost looks like they're missing normal maps? Is that right? You could just have a small 16x16 blank dummy normal map to fix this I think.
  8. Btw I'm working on a native PBR conversion of Tantares built into the mod, but using Shabby + Resurfaced instead of TU. The changes I'm making are very likely to break literally all of the above changes, fair warning. I'm currently working on a recoulourable shader for stuff like Salyut stripes. I did get a little chuckle out of this, since these stations were the most not-shiny things ever in space

  10. Ah for sure, I understood the correct shape from the drawings, I just felt the circular was cooler tbh, but it is certainly unique. I would like to see you finish this. Oh damn, you're right. That might be fixable. Their thrust will need nerfing, as it already has an insane TWR on Duna / Mars.
  11. Hey! Good to hear from you once more. 2.25m (about so), the nodes on it are 0.625m. Parallel as far as I know. The module controlling it in KSP does not know what to do with the 45 degree jets for pitch, so we have a fake effect at 45 degree, but under the hood it's really 90 degree. Nightmare combination of: Bad Aero Bad COM issues (easily fixable though tbh) Bad RCS controls (I'm going to fake the RCS entirely and it's going to be cardinal under the hood, just fake FX flares that look accurate). Worst case scenario, I can stick a pair of parachutes in it. We have starship at home

  14. Really awesome, takes me back to when Tantares actually had Fobos Grunt, that would be fun again Finally the aft section is done, so we can have a clearer look at what the full MPK looks like.
  15. Yeah I'm going to try and do that somehow, the original design has a second set of cargo bay doors in the heatshield, but... well I'm treating the original design as more of a first draft since it has a lot of really weird stuff. Will see if something nice middle ground can be had.
