  1. I'm an avionics technician for military aircraft by trade. At the moment I'm on a team that is trialing a brand new aircraft. So, yeah, I know what is involved, lol Perhaps that is why I like leaving the rockets outside of the hangar XD
  2. Yes, that's what I do. I attach the new probe using docking ports. The rocket never returns to the VAB - the same one is used over and over.
  3. I've made a SSTO rocket like that can take 550kg to orbit. After detaching the payload I'll de-orbit the rocket and land it back at KSC where I'll refuel it after attaching a fresh new probe. It's not a huge payload but it's a start and great fun. I use the KAS mod to do it.
  4. I've only got one file 'cloudLayers.cfg'. I deleted the rest. Edit: Well, I removed the Kerbin1 and Kerbin2 files, loaded the game (which resulted in no clouds) and the quit the game. Put the files back in, reloaded the game and all is normal. Strange, but it worked! All is normal on my Kerbin world
  5. I have an issue. The clouds seemed to be duplicated and spins my eyes out. I've spent a while going through folders, but can't seem to find a reason for it. Has anyone got any ideas or have they seen this before? http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/pp104/Akinesis/Kerbin_zpsf95fd8d7.jpg' alt='Kerbin_zpsf95fd8d7.jpg'>
  6. I don't personally see the need to refer to them as anything else other than days or years. Maybe I'd go as far as calling a day a 'rotation', and a year as a 'cycle'. But, please, no adding K's!!
  7. ...and explodes into chips when it hits the ground!
  8. ...what would they say? They can text you while your playing or while your computers off. It doesn't matter! But what sort if conversations would you have with them? Or what would they say to you? I'll start: Me: Jeb, I'm leaving work. I'll be on as soon as I get back! To the Mun, bro!!! 😠Jeb: No. Not tonight. Take Bob. Me: Why?! You're the main dude! Jeb: First reason, I've been to the Mun, like, six times this week. I'm bored with it. So it's someone else's turn. Second reason, you suck. You don't get the re-entry right and I crash every time. It was a novelty at first, but now it's just boring 😴 Also, buy some more RAM. Your framerate is nauseating. Me: You cut me deep bro. I think you need some time out on Eve. Hot and heavy!! 😠Jeb: You don't know how to get to Eve. And I've just deleted the MechJeb mod. lol Me: 😵
  9. This is not mine, and I can't remember who did it, but I found it hilarious: One more: http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/pp104/Akinesis/Mobile%20Uploads/A8398C28-EE51-4FA1-A222-8F669C79277A_zpskoz7naur.jpg' alt='A8398C28-EE51-4FA1-A222-8F669C79277A_zpskoz7naur.jpg'>
  10. Are you referring to the short-fuelling or the unexpected altitude loss?
  11. The next post is up. I've just discovered Fasa's launch towers, too. This has been greatly missing from my personal immersion experience! So, Aquarius X was successful. Although I have done the Aquarius XI mission, I'm moving house this week and won't have internet for a short while. So there will be a slight delay in posting...
  12. I use the Mk1-2 Command Pod purely because I don't like sending a Kerbal beyond Kerbin orbit on thier own. It seems cruel. And it's this same reason that I never use the Mk1 Lander can. Imagine descending to the Mun for the first time on your own... it would be intimidating (in my view) and pretty pants as there is no one with you to share the excitement (yes, I know this was what the Soviats were going to do). So I will happily go through the extra burden of creating a LV that can deliver the necessary hardware. And I still play in Sandbox only, so parts are not the issue. Anyway, that's my reasons. Perhaps I'm too soft on the little guys!
  13. Another post is up. This was actually quite fun for me - especially as it didn't go to plan!! Link is in the sig...
  14. I cannot believe how caught up I just got on Nassault's Star Stuff film. Just... wow.
  15. They're coming out thick and fast at the moment... This one is mainly a bit of fun, though: Link
  16. First manned launch of the new hardware went smoothly! Post is up.
  17. Actually, it's a natural satellite. Earth's satellite is called the Moon. It's a common misconception that satellites are 'moons'. There is only one Moon, as there is only one Earth, as there is only one Europa, etc. It's just socially accepted that all satellite's are called 'moons' now.
  18. I am done tweaking! No more! The Aquarius Project is finally underway! Link is in the sig... @Specialist290 - the problem is, as well, I finish up and go to bed, but then lay there as another 20 ideas flood my mind. Then the next day I start again! It's so hard to switch off...
  19. And the Munar program is on the cusp of ignition! I'm just finishing tweaks to the vehicles - I can't seem to stop fiddling with finished vehicles! In the meantime, my probe reached Duna. Read about it through the link in my sig.
  20. Glad I can once again deliver your fix! Luckily with this Aquarius you won't have to wait nearly 30,000 years between events! I've done a quick summary-post of the Unity missions. Link in the sig!
  21. Haha! It was fun writing about some paranoid Kerbals! Thanks for the comments, folks!! The second probe-mission to Eve is up for reading! Sig in the link. Edit: Yes, the mysterious LDV explosion! In all honesty, I am really not sure what happened there. Nibbled by the Kraken, I think! But the Eve lander has also shut down. I think something is hindering the exploration of my Kerbals!! But, in actual fact, I upgraded to Remote Tech 2. That caused me a HUGE headache trying to upgrade and re-link all my vehicles. Jeb had never been Hyper-edited so much!! But the Eve lander had served it's purpose, so I thought I'd leave it to rest in peace.
  22. One for the tinfoil-hat lovers. Spoiler alert!!! Link
  23. Yup, same problem here with the tracking screen freezing. I was switching out the old defunct RT1 probes with new RT2 ones using hyper edit. My furthest probe is in Duna orbit. And I think it happened after switching that one out. Not 100% but I will remove it and check again tomorrow. As mentioned in the above post, the work-around is to access the map view by launching a vessel. Not ideal, tho. I, too, have the hot fix dll. Any thoughts?
  24. You should have said - I might have been back earlier Thanks for your interest!! Two more posts have been put up. Link is in my sig!
