Finally landed on the VAB roof with my VTOL fighter. I even did it accidentally: I was trying to land on a building in the R&D center and overreacted with the throttle, which sent me going forward and up. I cut my throttle right when I was over the VAB and found myself on the helipad.

You need the firespitter.dll for B9's animations to work. Try downloading Firespitter and deleting everything except the .dll and see if that helps. Also, it seems that you don't have RPM installed because the screens aren't working. However, the RPM that B9 uses IIRC is a custom version and should be included in the download, so try downloading and installing B9 and make sure to not delete anything that it doesn't tell you to (except for the extracted .zip).
