  1. Bahamuto Dynamics' GRS2 The GRS2 or Giant Robot Suit Mk.2 is now available to the public. Download: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/103148235/Gundamesque%20Mk2.craft Craft requires the following addons: MagicSmokeIndustries(Infernal Robotics parts) B9 Aerospace 3.3 KW Rocketry Procedural Wings Procedural Fairings Dromoman Robotic Arms (will replace this when I get a chance) If you try to load this and the game is missing a part, let me know so I can update this list. Action Groups: 1, 2: Legs (Important for balancing CoM with CoT) 3,4: Arms (Not as important but may help with balancing. You can also mount weapons to the arms) Flight Instructions Note: This is just a toy. It can not get you to orbit or anywhere far at all. You can not walk. 1: Right when craft loads, enable RCS and SAS and try to balance the robot. After it settles, it should stand on its own without input. 2: Set throttle to full before staging. 3: Stage to enable thrusters. Immediately, hold action group "2" untill the legs are between the exhaust jets. If you don't do this, you will pitch forward and crash. 4: Try to adjust the leg position to balance the CoM with the CoT. 5: Fly around a bit and use the parachute to land. 6: To land on your feet, apply SAS and RCS in an upright position and use the leg and arm controls to create a balanced posture. Flying! Jump up, jump up, And get down!
  2. I finally got a new computer (my laptop got fried.. probably by high part count ships in KSP). I've been itching to try the new hinges and what not, and this is the first thing I came up with:
  3. Mad props. I wonder if I can use mechjeb to help with the aerial docking of my two airplanes.
  4. This is probably the hardest thing I've tried in KSP so far, and have not succeeded. Since I haven't seen anyone else try it, I'm sharing this video of my attempts.
  5. Today, I tried (and as of yet, failed) to do the most difficult thing I've ever attempted in KSP: Aerial docking to refuel a fighter jet. Teasers:
  6. I'm going for style points since I have those rotating engines, which I feel obligated to use haha. This is the landing profile I want to do:
  7. I can upload a .craft file but it uses several different mods so it might be difficult to figure out everything you need to fly it. Anyways, it's still a work in progress since it can't land yet, so once I have a version I'm happy with, I'll gladly post it. Edit: Also, its a framerate killer, and causes my computer to go to sleep to prevent overheating haha so progress is slow. Aren't both sides moving in relation to each other anyway? Does it matter? Anyways, that rover probe with the folding parts... I like. That gives me even more ideas
  8. Why does getting to the moon without doing proper Hohmann transfer or using the Oberth effect, or using proper g-turns for maximum efficiency flight paths have to be 'nooby'? I for one would be impressed by a craft that could launch straight up and land on the moon without orbiting. In fact, ill take that as a challenge.
  9. I am really liking where all this is going. The speed setting is going to be soo useful! One suggestion: a small feature that could be useful would be rotation angle limits. Say you have an object that you only need to rotate 90 degrees max (like engines on a vtol) then you could set the rotation angle, and even if you set the speed to be pretty high, you wont mess up and it will stop rotating at the set angle. I'm guessing it wouldn't be too hard to implement since the "zero" button kind of does something like that. Anyways, great work all around! I built a ship using the docking washers and the adjustable rail in another interesting way: Edit2: That folder belongs in the "GameData" folder, not the root.
  10. Well they certainly still have control in the vacuum. In this video, I'm locked and remote control connected to a ship about 5km away and all the missiles home in on the target. Edit: Its at 2:42
  11. Here's an interesting bug: While on the ground, if I target a craft and fire missiles, it almost always hits the craft dead on. While in orbit, if I fire a missile at a targeted craft, it flies way off and misses completely. However, if I target the craft AND connect with remote control, then the missile will home properly.
  12. I put a couple of these on one of my ships, and about a minute after taking off, the camera zooms out as if my CoG is far away from my ship, then stuff explodes and I get ejected from the Kerbol System at several times the speed of light.
  13. Awesome! I tried making a B2 before and it didn't come out right, but yours looks perfect.
  14. The docking alignment rotatrons from MagicSmokeIndustries.
  15. One day... but for now, there's nothing wrong with addons
  16. First working prototype of my massive carrier VTOL SSTO: Album: http://imgur.com/a/1unLP
  17. A few days ago I made a pretty good VTOL SSTO, but It could only really get around Kerbin and its moons, so I borrowed some ideas from Starwars and put this together. I think its a pretty sleek setup. If only space was this effortless in real life..
  18. Thanks! I used the little hublet and arms from the "DROMOMAN" modular arm pack to make a bridge from the front rail to the center, and used a 2.5m radial mount from the Spherical tanks pack with a clampotron Sr on it. Then struts from the big crusher to the other two rails in the back
  19. Shuttle adventures: That wasn't supposed to happen... take two: Success!
  20. A huge YES to sounds. KSP is lacking in sounds. On a side note, another testament to the power of the adjustable rail:
  21. I eagerly tried this out, but when I got to the first gate, it broke in half, tipped over and smacked into my plane. Is this the "glitch gates" you were talking about? Is there any way around this on my end? On a side note, I get a huge FPS drop (down to 5-10 fps) while looking towards the horizon, which you are forced to do for this race... Looking straight up or down I can get 30-60 fps. Any info on this would be helpful too. Until then... I'll stick with space!
  22. The arm worked better than expected. I expected massive wobbles and glitches since that tends to happen when you stack robotic parts in games like these, but it held up quite well, even with the violent nature of the electromagnet (it wobbled on connection but didn't break). It completed my Space Shuttle build! The only problem was that it clipped through the bottom of the cargo bay when I landed pretty hard and exploded into the ground. Not sure if theres any way around that other than quantum struts..
