  1. Floor 825: you're finally here. It's just another generic, uninteresting floor. You weep sadly.
  2. They really could expand a lot on the devnotes. And also, stuff like this: is completely useless. This is about what you've been working on, not some crummy (unfortunately worldwide) sports tournament.
  3. Just a question now: what would it take Squad to make the game "complete"? I mean if they had to finish it now, how much work would they have to put in to polish the game so it could be sold as "complete"? I don't mean "get all the features we really want into the game quick", I mean a polish/bugfix of 0.23.5 and a re-labeling of the game so it can be called complete? Obviously, there are half-implemented features, since they work on the weakest bits of the game first, but ignoring those, would the bugfixing be a lot of work?
  4. Could the forum people add an exception of the censorship of a certain four letter word which is used as a slang word for *ahem*, as it prevents people from writing the word c o c k p i t (the place where planes are controlled from) EDIT: spacing seems to work, but it would be nice if it were changed... Without spacing: pit
  5. pit? Maybe it has to be written in one word (which is the correct spelling) EDIT: nope Kerbpaint There is SpacePlanes Plus for the pit, but it has no IVA AFAIK.
  6. That's the issue I had... Annoyed to see it still hasn't been fixed, after much blame-shifting onto my installing, then onto my mods, and following that a refusal to attempt to deal with the issue... And the "freezing on the processors" issue is still there and has been experienced by others. Such a shame, this mod would be so nice if it worked for everyone...
  7. I would actually recommend AGAINST Cacteye. It took days to stop the game from deleting all the parts (including stock ones), removing every flight and asteroid... Then when it finally "worked", the game froze on startup.
  8. Found the link to the original thread. Looks like it was abandoned http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/51624-WIP-KerbolQuest-Jetpacks-Beta
  9. Seems like the best way to do it. Now, to avoid being a hypocrite : I definitely think that the various APIs should be added to the game. AFAIK it doesn't affect the game itself, so they don't have to integrate it fully with their own code (causing problems) and it would help modders hugely. Clearly they care about modding (if they didn't the game would have fallen on its face IMO) as they changed the file system in 0.20 so each mod could have an individual folder, instead of merging the mod files with Squad files. Oh, and guys? Who rated the thread one star? RETALIATE! VOTE IT 5 STARS! (Please do, I don't see anything wrong with the thread)
  10. There used to be a jetpack mod, which was part of a project to turn KSP into an RPG. Does anyone know what happened to it?
  11. Refreshing the page sometimes works, is there anything I can do when I get the 502? EDIT: the irony... While posting this I got a 502... Chrome warned me about navigating away from the page...
  12. Maybe they should just release smaller updates more quickly, with bug fixes in each one, so every small update is an expanded bug fixing patch. Then they can work on the larger updates properly. EDIT: whoops meant to edit the first post...
  13. The Soviet spacecrafts had inferior instruments which couldn't handle the vacuum, so they developed airlocks. The US spacecrafts had better instruments, so they could just depressurise the cabin.
  14. I actually did Kerbol but voted wrongly in the poll. Isn't Mun harder than Minmus too?
  15. Yeah, I noticed that too. It's pretty cheap, since we are technically the testers: we pay earlier, play earlier, and in return, get updates much quicker and help in fixing bugs. And about not being obliged to release updates, yes, they could technically just stop, but the negative publicity would kill their business and reputation. It would be hard for them to start another project because no one would have any faith in them... And why do they never give release dates or give us much detail about what they're working on? Sounds like the perfect recipe: "work" on an update, get more people interested in the game, wait until you gather enough cash, never release said update, close business, split the cash and leave, and avoid legal trouble because of a disclaimer. This might be extreme, but the lack of a release date might be slowing them down. With no specific target, they can always drag out the work for a bit longer, since they are under little pressure to get anything out at all, except for the community they interact so much with (sarcasm). About releases: we get the worst of both worlds: disadvantage of buggy updates (early access) and slow updates which are few and far between (finished games from large publishers)
  16. Budget is really important here, I want to keep the price as low as possible. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/PkT4Bm I've followed the advice from the above post.
  17. How's this? http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/RXsH8d Lowered the price quite a bit
  18. How is this for a gaming computer? http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/P4C2bv
  19. How is this as a gaming computer? http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/P4C2bv
  20. Computer building is very daunting for me, but I'd love to build a proper gaming PC. Does anyone have any tips?
  21. Edit post, go advanced, check box
  22. I'm vaguely considering building my own gaming computer, so I can finally play games at a bit more than 15 FPS... Does anyone have any advice, links to good sites, recommendations etc for me?
  23. Rename it the "Space Launch Missile" and get more funding! Say the explosion was actually a test of the latest non-nuclear missile! America should also realise that the SLS is pretty much their only hope for an American way of getting Kerbals humans into space. They shouldn't cancel it. Plus, as has been said before, a test flight should point out the problems so they can be fixed. It's 100 times better if the main engines fail now than when they do get people on it.
  24. There seems to be a lot of concern for new players. The thing here is that the game is not friendly to beginners. At all. If you don't do any research before playing the game, you might be able to launch a rocket after loads of attempts. You still would have no idea about science, or even right-clicking. The tutorials are outdated and incomplete (part 2 of the Mun landing tutorial, anyone?) to top it all off. With that lack of help for new players, maybe we shouldn't be worrying about them so much.
