Better SSTO Spaceplane Challenge (0.23.5+0.24) Fin!
Sirine replied to Sirine's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@ Hodo : Somehow I know, sooner or later your will be in this challenge. You space-plane are legendary. But, well what would you bring out to attracts more votes? Hints: It depends on who your competitor are. So far, 1 Mod heavy, 1 Purely stock. -
Thanks for the clearification. Heading to VAB now. Craft file -->> http://www./download/doe9dokkyb1v795/Simple_SSTO.craft Scoring: -Achieve Orbit: +2,000 points = yes -Safe Landing - 0 parts broken: +3,000 points = no (yes, if on land) -Rocky Landing (less than five parts broken): +1,000 points = yes (if on water/land, Just retrieve on of the landing leg. And it will naturally fall down and break the parts.) -For every 10m maximum altitude you achieve over 70,000: +1 point (I actually achieve 74x90km, but missing that screenshot, I will take that 74km.) +400 points -If you somehow reach Kerbin Escape Velocity, +5,000 points. Make sure you reel it back in, though. = no -Every part beyond 25 will reduce your final score 1% = Total parts 10. Total: 2000+1000+400 = 3400 Update:- Scoring: -Achieve Orbit: +2,000 points = yes -Safe Landing - 0 parts broken: +3,000 points = Yes -Rocky Landing (less than five parts broken): +1,000 points = No -For every 10m maximum altitude you achieve over 70,000: +1 point (Achieve 71x90km.) +2000 points -If you somehow reach Kerbin Escape Velocity, +5,000 points. Make sure you reel it back in, though. = no -Every part beyond 25 will reduce your final score 1% = Total parts 14. Total: 2000+3000+2000 = 7000 (Same craft just add in 4 batteries. For SAS "reaction wheel" control.) Updates 2:- I have achieve Kerbin Escape Velocity. 3431.0m/s. With the same craft, remove SAS unit and add in another fuel tank. Thats all. Total points...well I'm too lazy to calculate the altitude marks. (Over 83547K). It took more than 141days (Kerbin times). With the auto parachute Pre-open back to 1st album. I have confident that I can land back to Kerbin 1 in piece. Perhaps you should add a rules about "Manned mission only." Else I think I have already achieve you maximum points available.

Better SSTO Spaceplane Challenge (0.23.5+0.24) Fin!
Sirine replied to Sirine's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@ GluttonyReaper : Well done. Your main point for selling are the Hitchiker module? Fully stock are much appreciable by non-mod heavy player. And detail flight profile too. Wish you luck on getting more vote! Update:- Tested your craft. Nose heavy at the beginning, but after at high altitude >10km, it become very stable. Easy to handle. A thumb up design. Below are some of my suggestion. Perhaps you should include "press 2 to turn off the Air-intake". And tuning on the control surface, will guaranty more safe landing. -
Heavy Payloads (Thanks everybody!)

Sorry, but what was your question again? -
Better SSTO Spaceplane Challenge (0.23.5+0.24) Fin!
Sirine replied to Sirine's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@TJPrime : Looking forward for your entry. @Voculus : A very impressive entry. However, please be realize that there will be only 1 entry per participant. Your may promote both of your craft now and see which is more popular (higher chance of getting vote). Later before the deadline, please let me know which one to put for voting. @Pecan : Space-plane it is. Added. However VTOL is acceptable. As long as the craft is look like a plane, rather then rocket with wings stick on both side. -

When do you do your Gravity Turns?
Sirine replied to Tank Buddy's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
On launch pad, switch the Navball mode from surface to orbit. Hit the launch sequence, notice the Prograde marker raise to 45 degree, start turn and let the marker maintain at 45 degree all the time until your desire altitude high, example 70km. stop engines. sail to 5 second. and perform orbit movement. If you have a slow rocket (low TWR) you may consider 60 degree. I find this method to be the best. It apply to all various type of rockets. and maintain a stable and good reference. -

Can KSP / Unity simulate Pluto & Charon orbital method?
Sirine replied to Sirine's topic in KSP1 Discussion
One interesting point.. .Pluto and Charon are facing each other 'as always' the same direction. Like in synchronize orbit. (Check the image) -

33m/s are a bit harsh for new player. -
Better Stock Crafts 2: This Time it's Personal!
Sirine replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I dont know, but for me, mostly RCS are for fine docking movement. The SAS reaction wheel are for turning. -
Only promote own craft at initial post. Noted that. Thanks.

Better Stock Crafts 2: This Time it's Personal!
Sirine replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
All previous "Better Stock Crafts Challenge" do have participants presenting their own ideal on how and why they vote for certain people, and they do put it in spreadsheets, with various 'technical data' base on their own judgement. So, you want other to just shut up and vote? Or It just me. -
Well, I apologies if offended you somehow. Much appreciated if you could explain a little bit of my non-intentional rudeness. However, promoting own craft so other could vote for you. I don't see thats a problem.

My vote as above. My point of view. http://www./download/2kkvrw6rm3c0wrm/Book1.xlsx -
It seems that the rules no.5, is contradict with rules no.6. It sounds to me like. Hey, don't tell how good your rocket are, but explain what your rocket can do.... And seems the challenge targeting new player, a launching craft 'lifter' should be included. A complete ship. Not just the Mun Lander. (not mentions in the OP). What should we presume:- New player capable of achieve Kerbin Orbit? New player capable of targeting Mun, and understand Hohmann transfer to Mun? New player capable of capturing Mun orbit? New Player capable of landing on Mun? New Player capable of back to Kerbin?
