  1. I believe it will be 9 pm EST, assuming that the teams are picked as soon as the application deadline is past.
  2. True, but nobody has updated their posts to say if they still need a team or not (now that I think of it, I'm a culprit too here.. oops).
  3. Anyone still looking for a team? Feel free to pm me, I believe our team has one spot left. *Edit: All our slots are full.
  4. We should make a few threads to help get organised. We could make a voting thread with team captain nominees, and a roster thread for people who want to join teams.
  5. Okay then. I volunteer! I'd like to believe I'm a pretty good well rounded player. I play stock (90% of the time), my favorite craft to build are space-plane ssto's, sstmo's, and Apollo recreations. And I will say the control tower operators have developed a nonchalant attitude about my habit of landing things on the tower :] . My weaknesses are forgetting to quicksave, forgetting power supply systems, forgetting the pilot, forgetting 2+2=4, antagonizing the kraken, melting my computer by making ships with too many parts, and moar boosters (upsidedown). For special skills I'd say I'm pretty good at making out of the box creations, such as a working stock submarine, and launchers for payloads anywhere from 0.1 to 1000 tons.
  6. Wow, this challenge sounds like it will be fun! Seeing as only the most active and popular forum users will be ale to join the teams, is there anyone out there who wants to make another informal league of their own?
  7. I absolutely love this mod, and it's great to see how much it has developed, however, I am having some trouble saving changes I make to layers. Whenever I close KSP and re-open it, all the planets have reverted back to their default cloud layers, and reseting to save doesn't revert it back to how I left it. Does anyone know what might be causing this? (I am making the changes with the in-game GUI and using the save button).
  8. >_< I am clearly not thinking straight,oh well, that's what I get for playing so late at night. I'm glad I posted in the forums before doing anything radical. Thanks for clearing that up! ( P.s. I really like your mission report series )
  9. Hello fellow Kerbalnauts. I don't know where the appropriate place to make this thread is, so if it's in the wrong place, please tell me. I Just noticed that the wiki page for Laythe has listed the Semi-major axis, Apoapsis, and Periapsis as 27 184 000 m, when it is actually 21 184 000 m. I would change the wiki, but I want to make sure that the wiki is messed up, and it isn't just my game. (Also I don't think I can edit the wiki). So far, 3 kerbals have died due to this error.
  10. I take it that you would have to live close enough to commute, or is this something that can be done through online communication?
  11. This made me laugh, so I thought I'd share Original link here: http://pbfcomics.com/archive_b/PBF248-Transmission.jpg
  12. I am a big Larry Niven fan, though I don't think I have read that one yet, I will be sure to put it on my reading list. I also think that using the message from aliens as a "wake up call" to develop ourselves would be the smart thing to do.
  13. I doubt that they would try to take over the world, or harm us (intentionally at least). If they are similar to people, in order to be technologically advanced enough to travel to other worlds, they would very likely need to be advanced in other aspects of their lives, and would not need to resort to direct warfare to achieve their goals. If they are not similar to people, then they probably won't have the same concepts of war and attack in the first place. Although they could thoroughly enjoy killing and be searching the galaxy for new victims.. ..So many "if"s. At any rate, I know we will answer the "phone" regardles of the danger, it's just in our nature to open Pandora's Box.
  14. I was going through some old stuff of mine when I came across my rocket stomper. Does anyone else remember these? I used to put baby powder in the rocket to look like smoke when it lifted off, and I tried filling the pump with vinegar and the rocket with baking soda once.. (didn't work well). If you don't know what it is, it is an air powered rocket launcher, with a pump that you have to jump on to launch the rocket (the harder you hit the pump, the further it launches the rocket).
  15. I watched this video the other day; I thought it made some good points and made me think about what would actually happen if we received contact from an alien life form, and I thought you would enjoy it. Backup link if video does not work: The thought of actually contacting an alien is actually a bit scary. What truths will be unveiled about our world? How will it change the way we think, the way we view ourselves. I can not even imagine the implications of such an event... though I think we would gain a lot of knowledge from them, and I don't think they would invade earth (at least not until we tried to spice up their ships with boosters and struts).
  16. This is more of a re-introduction, I have been a part of the community since February, but lost my account this April and haven't made a new one until now . I hope to become an active member of the community again. What has changed in the last couple of months, and how is everyone doing (taking good care of Jeb I hope )?
