@KerbalSpaceP 28 Aug People not going to the con can still enjoy the exclusive reveal of the R&D system and many other features in 0.22! That's all I've heard ... and I got no response to my question of "how?"
-
If you find any other source of info please post a link. I'm relying on the twitter stuff they put out and Have searched Youtube for variations on PAX PRIME 2013 "KSP" "Squad" and have found nothing. If anyone finds any gaming news site that does anything about KSP please post a link. I'll try to put as many links up in the OP as we find so everything's in one place.

I hope people with better google-fu than me will find videos and post the links. They were at a Unity event and are at PAX. Unity Talk finally posted. Update 9/13/2013 another PAX interview finally posted. Update 8/31/2013 At 3pm PST or 6pm EST on Sunday 9/1 there might be something KSP related on Twitch http://www.twitch.tv/twitch /Update thanks macegee .22 reveal interview from the above http://www.twitch.tv/twitch/b/454897273 Go to 5:21 for the interview. Just the .22 reveal section on Youtube. Images from the Twitch interview on .22 Update 9/1/2013 Game informer article. Nothing really about.22 but interesting. http://www.gameinformer.com/games/kerbal_space_program/b/pc/archive/2013/09/01/the-story-of-kerbal-space-program.aspx /Update Found a podcast from Gaming Dead KSP discussion starts at 16:50 http://gamingdead.com/2013/09/02/gaming-dead-podcast-pax-prime-day-3 Game Front Article. Yeah XP 32 and 3 GB of ram sounds like your problem.
-
well for 1 we're still on .21.1 a .21.2 has not come out. for 2 Most problems are caused by Mods. The stock game for which I have been playing since .18 has never crashed. 3. There is one know bug I'm aware off that causes a crash during scene changes that is a problem for those using Fraps. There is a workaround for it however... and they are working on a fix. So... what was your problem again? How can we help you?

Most of my mishaps happen at launch. I've had a few messed up staging events and forgotten key parts... Also my most prevalent screw up is forgetting to extend the solar panels and running out of power. I now put a few of those single panel things on to avoid that. But for spectacular things I have these: Rover attempt before Rover parts were added. First landing on the Mun Duna Hates those little wheels. Both of these landed upright and flipped immediately upon starting motion.

My orbit attempts were back in .13 A lot. 1 command pod, 1 fuel tank, 1 engine, 1 solid booster, No fuel flow between fuel tanks. I think my ship that made it to orbit had about 5 stages... and the one that made it to Mun orbit with out an orbital map was about 7. Good times. I always love seeing people excited about their achievements.

My rovers don't rove
FITorion replied to kodemunkey's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
In order to get good performance in low gravity you have to either make them really really heavy or put an SAS on them and get good at switching between docking and regular mode to adjust where the SAS is pointing. -
Who Has Made it to Eeloo without Cheating?
FITorion replied to TJMcCaust's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
easy. Now manned would be a little harder... but not much. The launcher I used for that was the same one I used for everything really... I tend to over build things... for manned I'd just change the upper portion to the larger fuel tanks and that'd be about it. ETA: didn't do the challenge. just responded to the thread title. -
Having an atmosphere doesn't necessarily mean magnetic field. Venus has an atmosphere and does not have a magnetic field. Laythe is the closest moon in to Jool. It would be like IO and Jupiter in our own system and would be in the highest radiation zone caused by Jools magnetic field. It could have a strong magnetic field... it just doesn't have to have one.
-
Well the churning from the tidal forces would cause volcanoes... and the moving internal liquid would most likely also cause a magnetic field. I don't know why it wouldn't... I'll have to check if IO and Europa have large magnetic fields because I think they should. The internal heat from the tides could maintain a warm ocean. Europa has an ocean under the ice... if it were just a little closer to Jupiter that ice could be melted and a temperate environment created. The only real question to me is if such a zone would be within or outside the Van Allen radiation belts of the gas giant. If it is lucky enough to not be in one of the radiation belts then the radiation environment wouldn't be that bad... it would be less than interplanetary space. There is however a decent chance it would be in a radiation belt and then I don't think it would be possible for their to be a strong enough magnetic field to deal with that. If it was in a belt... and had a decent field then the radiation would be high... but not necessarily impossible to deal with. Substances high in Hydrogen ... such as water ... make wonderful radiation shields. Also a few feet of dirt does a pretty good job... Laythe has both. You'd just want to limit your time from orbital insertion to landing and getting inside the protective facilities. I know the Devs have mentioned in the past that the radiation environment on Laythe is going to be significant... But I haven't seen anything that says this will change anything... maybe Kerbals are immune "mostly" to radiation... hence why the Nuclear engines are "mostly" harmless. Upon further research... apparently Both IO and Europa have Induced magnetic fields... induced by Jupiter's... and they do not have intrinsic fields such as what would be caused by convecting internal liquid cores. check out this pic I found.

Landed the first habitation unit on the Mun for my Mun base. It was unmanned... So it's waiting for inhabitants. I also forgot to take a picture. I tested my base ground Solar Arrays and how they'll attach to my base. I remembered to take a pic of that.

I want nuclear reactors for: Space Stations Planetary Bases (think dark side of moho or for that matter the mun with the long nights) Interplanetary Taxi type ships Is there very little that requires electricity right now? Yes. Is the electricity generation devices that don't rely on the sun woefully inadequate to power a bank of 20 to 30 Ion drives at full throttle? Yes. Will the future bring many more things that require electricity? Yes.
-
Steam does not need to be running for you to play KSP. Steam does need to be running and online for it to update KSP. If your steam account is hacked/ banned then you will not be able to get further updates.
-
I'd love a full on Nuclear Reactor.
-
I've never had this happen. Do you have any mods installed? It seems like most problems happen on moded games and I'm wondering if this bug is mod related as well.
-
I agree... something like this: Or this? Also I may just be unfamiliar with how cafepress works but can we get shirts in colors? Grey, dark grey, black, red, blue?
-
CPU speed. 4-6 gigs ram... the faster the better. The game can only use 4gigs but the game isn't the only thing running on your computer and everything else uses ram too. Decent video card. SSD for fast start up speeds. Indeed. I start getting lag at around the 900-1000 part count point with mine.

No one reads the stickies. (rule of forums everywhere) http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/24533-Show-off-your-awesome-KSP-pictures! On the off chance this thread survives...
-
I have no idea what you're talking about. If you're a big fan you must already have some links. Why don't you share those so I can figure out what you're talking about?
-
physics warp (time warp when in an atmosphere or near a planet) can do weird things. here read this thread (it's short) http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/46730-Just-one-question-for-SQUAD

... just leave it running... run it in windowed mode if you do. Apparently fullscreen mode doesn't like it very much when you ALT+TAB out of it. Windowed mode works fine in that regard.
-
yep it's well known. Take a look at the start up screen sometime. Lots of creative funny names for things all over.

a bug caused by a Mod? say it ain't so. kidding. kidding. Mechjeb always blows up my rockets though. Or at least it did and I very quickly stopped using it.
