  1. My vote goes for the second of your statements, just a release from SQUAD that says: "These items are roughly what we want to address before the final 1.0 release: 1. Aerodynamics retouch: We know the aero is wonky, we're going to make some passes to fix it 2. MOAR PARTS 3. BLABLA 4. BLABLABLA" Obviously replacing all the numbered items with SQUAD's hopes/intentions for the "gold" copy.
  2. They are talking about the test builds in steamdb: http://steamdb.info/app/220200/history/ Each of those is a specific update/change to the game uploaded by the devs for the testers to test. Now all versions have been updated and released. They will be tested as a Release Candidate and if found to be lacking in bugs, etc...will be released for use. If you are not a tester, there is nothing for you to download as of yet.
  3. If I recall correctly (heard it in a video I believe), you may have to download the x64 version separately from the 32 if you're getting it from the KSP website. I cannot confirm however, as I am a STEAM user.
  4. Sadly, you're right FleetAdmiralJ. SQUAD sounded a lot more confident when they released the original video on .24 than they have each day since...getting a little less confident all the time (unless that's just a ploy).
  5. Yep...as if the hype train wasn't already chugging fast enough now we have devs stirring the pot with their own personal twit accounts
  6. This is exactly what I was trying to say earlier..but a bit more succinct.
  7. Correct, if you're only running 4GB of ram, 64 bit should make no difference...in fact you may want to continue running 32 as it's less "buggy" supposedly.
  8. Did you listen to him? He was answering questions that he figured would be frequently asked. He never even attempted it in the video...he said he tried it before he made the video and it didn't work. He probably just missed the fact that funds were applied to his account but there was NO MESSAGE that told him of those funds being added (hence his "doesn't appear in the popup" message he added into the video AFTER I had watched it on Monday).
  9. True true RIC! Maybe "assumption" was the better word...as it was not officially stated, but stated by a Youtuber and assumed to be true?
  10. To clear up the debris recovery stuff...4kbShort had stated in his video that debris was NOT recoverable for funds originally. It now states (I made this same mistake LethalDose) around 28minutes in a Youtube overlay that he (4kb) was mistaken and you may actually get funds back for debris, but it just doesn't show up in the popup window.
  11. And I never said I read it in the FAQ...I said I heard it on a video. It was 4kbShort's Lets Learn to Play KSP .24. Video Here: Was around 28 minutes...but now he's added an addendum saying that debris was recoverable but doesn't show in the popup. So my apologies for disseminating information I heard in 4kb's vid.
  12. In the Tracking Center, do they show up as debris or as ships? I have heard (from one of the Youtube videos) that DEBRIS is NOT recoverable for funds...so if it broke off the ship when you landed and was registered as debris it would not be recoverable for funds (even thought it says "Recover" in the Tracking Center).
  13. Yes, and it's also only 8:00 AM Central and 6:00 AM Pacific. No changes would likely go in until at least the guys get back in to work.
  14. If it were me and I were concerned with the looks but not the launches, I'd remove SmokeScreen. I believe the Smoke at launch can be a cause of some major lag on occasion. Also, ATM shouldn't have any affect on framerates, it just reduces the memory footprint KSP uses when loading.
  15. Yep, if you remove just the Part folder from the Squad folder in Texture Replacer, you'll only remove Proot's retextures of the stock parts. All the rest will still be there (visor reflections, skybox, planets, etc...). Also, sorry for my delayed response. Was outside all day today...finally got a beautiful weekend in Minnesota this spring!
  16. To remove the SQUAD retextures, remove the Parts folder from the TextureReplacer/Default/Squad folder in GameData.
  17. Actually, I think if you go into the ActiveTextureManagement folder, then edit the config.cfg. Search for the lines where it says the following: ### Resize the texture by the scale specified. Use powers ### of two for best efficiency. 1 is no scalling, 2, is 1/2 ### 4 is 1/4, etc. scale = 2 Change scale = 2 to scale = 1 and reload KSP. This should fix your issue.
  18. TextureReplacer\Default\Squad\Parts is where you'll find the stock replacement textures. Delete that folder and the stock replacement textures are gone. P.S. your answer was literally between 3 and 6 posts above your own...
  19. Don't know if Proot is available to answer right now or not, but his part changes can be found in: GameData\TextureReplacer\Default\Squad\Parts. Each is then catagorized from there, so you should be able to remove ONLY those items that are an issue if you wish. I believe you should be able to get rid of the reskinned parts by just removing this folder. I don't believe there are any .cfg files to change, but Proot would know much better regarding that. Edit: Ninjad!
  20. I'm not at all trying to be dishonest. You came in on this thread complaining ENGLISH semantics to a NON ENGLISH native speaker...then you go on to attack myself, and others, who are trying to set the record straight. You also edited your post AFTER I posted mine, so I didn't even have a chance to comment on your point. Also, if you want to get semantic about it...technically EVERYTHING that Proot posted was a dependency FOR THE KSPRC PACK...if you want the pack AS INTENDED, you need all those mods. Mods are mods and no mod (unless created specifically with something in mind like Cacteye Telescope, which requires multiple mods or it will not function) are dependent on one another. Common sense and even minimal knowledge of mods is all that should be necessary to determine that...
  21. Hahaha, emotional much. "Someone responded harshly to me so I'm going to take my ball and run away." If you'd bothered to read through the thread, Proot already apologized for his harsher responses and stated it was partly because English is his second language. He (and others on the thread) has also explained that there are no real "dependencies" to KSPRC, but that if you remove pieces you'll not get the full immersion that you would with the entire pack. He could list out all the features that are enabled by the specific components, but you could also go in and check out the package and figure it out for yourself...it's not hard. It took me about 2.5 minutes to figure out what different effects were added by what mod and it's easy enough to pick and choose which you want to include and which not. Why should Proot assume that you're coming here to only get part of his package?
