[1.3.0] OPT Space Plane v2.0.1 - updated 29/07/2017
InsanePlumber replied to K.Yeon's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
"Wow thanks!! Ill definitely use it in future. it almost make OPT loading time non-existent. May i ask what did you use to convert? or just simply rename the png to dds" I am new in modifying the KSP, but generally modifies the game for over 15-17 years. Change the file extension did not effect anything. ( it is not *.mbm texture that can be converted to *.pbm/*.raw/*.png by editing the file header and its extension), texture must be read -> converted and stored in the proper way, I will not describe the entire procedure. (morning laziness ) I must tell you that the DDS4KSP does well in most cases. If an application crashes or any errors, install DirectX from the link provided on the home page of the program. >>> Please refer to the application documentation ( DDS4KSP ) because you can cause yourself problems, and you'll have to re-install KSP <<< Regards -

Please do not take this as complaints about. Just trying to help and explain you the correct execution of textures in DDS format. In the version 0.08 is optimized only one texture AirplaneFins.dds, the rest do not have MipMaps, so they are not optimized as they should be. (MipMaps) Link to optimized version 0.08.

KSP Interstellar Extended Continued Development Thread
InsanePlumber replied to FreeThinker's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I'm new to modding KSP. I noticed that one of the dll files (GameData\TechManager\TechManager.dll) is it really empty file. Is it a deliberate action ? My little contribution. GoogleDriveLink All the textures converted to DDS format, except for a few small files (png), mainly related to the user interface and the PlanetResourceData, ParticleFX directorys. >>> Remember to remove the old textures, they have the same names as those converted to a DDS format) <<< If you want, please use them in the next update. MiniMap for textures on Wiki. EDIT What program do you use to create textures. I'll help you optimize them. (give you a hint what options to use when writing to the DDS format.) EDIT2 Link to optimized textures on GoogleDrive. The original non-optimized without minimap 11,0 MB (11.535.815 bytes) Optimized with minimaps 8,66 MB (9.088.680 bytes) ~20% less memory consumption

KSP 1.0+ now natively supports the DDS format for textures. SPPCC v0.6.0 does not use the minimap in DDS files, and it should be due to the optimization. (unless KSP does not use the mini map in DDS, just starting my adventure with modding KSP)
