  1. I won't say it is smoother or better. With my current list of working mods, the memory footprint is just stupid. Without ATM my 16GB RAM capacity is smashed with almost 10GB of KSP when it is running. Which is just stupid, when I had the EXACT same number of mods running before with ATM in under 2.8GB of RAM. So KSP went from looking like a nicely formed Jello mold, to looking like a Taco Bell mudbutt spatter.
  2. May have to test it out on my RO install. But really don't want to break that install, as it is the only version of KSP I have currently that works.
  3. No offense but this was one of the hardest to read replies I have seen on these forums in a long time. Calm down, when you type it may come across a bit more clear. You don't like his post fine, but does your response make you any better then the OP? Nope, you are just responding in like kind to the OPs ragequit post. So I think the saying is, "Pot meet Kettle, Kettle meet Pot."
  4. So does Pwing .8 work in .23.5? Or is it a strict .24 thing?
  5. Several reasons this is happening. 1- The drag of the aircraft is quite low, and you are running NEAR. Even in FAR this would happen, but if you were running FAR you would have some serious dynamic pressure to contend with at this altitude and would probably blow apart if you tried to do the slightest thing. 2- Stock Turbojet engines are WAY overpowered compaired to real life jet engines. To fix this either download and use KIDS, or AJE. 3- Stock KSP orbital velocity is only about 2.4km/s. Real life orbital velocity is about 9.4km/s, not to mention the atmosphere for the stock KSP is at 69.1km while the real Earth is just about 180km, so nearly 2.5 times as deep. So is that behaviour normal? For KSP-Stock+FAR/NEAR yes.
  6. I solved this issue, by removing the modstatitics folder all .dlls associated with it, and removing Kethane and any mod created by Majiir till it is removed or created with a better more visable opt-in option. I will not be endorcing anything made by Majiir until this happens. Pretty simple. I don't like, I don't use it, I wont promote it for use.
  7. Stock is boring, plain and simple. At the very least, stock aerodynamics is uh... laughable. EDIT- I myself have tried to play .24, but the number of bugs and problems with all the mods I am running on that install is just making it unplayable for me, so I have chosen to continue to play on my second install that is the full Realism Overhaul .23.5KSP. I am not mad at SQUAD, I find that the changes made and bugs caused are definatly part of the growing pains for the game. This mated with the "issue" of the Majiir-modstatgate I find it far more relaxing to actually play in a version that works. Instead of fighting with new bugs, issues and crashes. Like currently if I load KSP 32bit it crashes due to memory issues. If I run 64bit it loads fine, but takes up a HUGE amount of memory , because some how they made Active Texture Management plugin incompatable?! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot over? Just because I have 16GB of RAM doesn't mean I want KSP to run all 12 of it. I play with mods, because the stock KSP, is meh.... The aerodynamic model is bad, and that's being polite. The limiting number of parts, is ok if you only build rockets and those you can build without clipping are often hidious. The lack of propper aircraft parts and cargo bays is equally bad. But it doesn't help that aircraft in KSP fly like super powered submarines. Then the weak atmosphere re-entry model, which anytime I can fire a Kerbal from Duna at Kerbin and have him survive re-entry only to die on impact with the ground is uh... bad. So I play with mods to add challenge, and variation to my gameplay experience. If all I did was make bad Youtube videos in hope of making a few pennies and slap together parts and scream horribly at the mic laughing manically at the screen as my fail contraption failed violently, sure stock would be fine.
  8. Ok still can't get KSP.24x64bit to load past Real chutes with the latest Real chutes patch. No output log to give, it just hangs at one of the real chute files and sits there. Left it last night for 6 hours while I went to sleep, the game never loaded, never gave the "Not Responding" error, and never crashed.
  9. While I do not, disagree with the intention of this plugin, I do however disagree with its implementation. It should be optional not mandatory. Right now it is pretty much, you use it or you figure out where it is and remove it manually.
  10. Sorry I have to chime in on this problem. Majiir, while I am sure you had the best of intentions this is not a choice YOU, as a player and a modder should make. This is a choice that the individual downloading a mod or plugin should have. Otherwise it is no different then if I were to put a GPS tracker on your car and every car like it, because I wanted to know how many miles on average they were driven per day and at about how fast they were driven and when. It is pure and simple, invasion of privacy, which in the United States of America, Canada and the United Kingdom, punishable in the court of law. I have seen used programs very much like this one that are tracking software programs that leave a door open for hackers, and worms. The thing that has set me the most against it, is the fact that it clones itself. This personally sends up giant flaming red flags for me. This computer I don't keep any sensitive information on, nothing you can't find out about me online or if you just ask. But there are people who are not as paranoid or security minded as myself. So I have gone through and removed all the .dlls for the mod, and will continue to do so, if I even download or even recommend any of your plugins or mods that use this spyware program until a option to use it is programmed in and it is made abundantly clear to the downloader what it does, and where it does it.
  11. Seeing as the movie that that clip is from is called "Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag" and was shown on IMAX theaters at the Virginia Air and Space Museum in the mid 2000s. In this video, this is what a REAL GAU-8 sounds like and what it really looks like. No pretty sparks, just dust, fire and death. I grew up on USAF bases, I knew hog drivers and still know them. I have seen first hand, during my time in Afghanistan what an A-10 gun run looks and sounds like. And I can tell you that you sir are misinformed.
  12. Of all the mods to break in my install this is one of the ones that hurts the most.
  13. I can honestly say, I am not having that problem or have had that problem.
  14. For some reason KSP is locking up when it gets to the REAL Chutes parts. I am running 64, and have no clue why. When I reinstall the previous version of Real Chutes I don't have this problem. Odd.
  15. Oh I see what you are talking about. And no I still have not experienced exactly what you are saying, I may just be adjusting to it automatically and fixing it manually. But I don't often have really thick wings, it is rare they go over 2.0 in thickness. Most of the time I start my wings at .2 and add struts and such then expand the thickness back out to where I want it. I also turn off the auto-snap feature when I attach control surfaces, and I make sure the wings are exactly where I want them and where they need to be before I attach them. This way I shouldn't have to move them and mess up the control surface placement. Lastly most of my craft don't have massive control surfaces unless they are massive aircraft. So I think I am a bit hazy over the overall problem you are having other than the CoL moving around... that is annoying but I figured it was a FAR thing and just adapted and overcame the issue.
  16. Two questions. 1- Are you using FAR? 2- How is it wrong?
  17. I am running 64KSP and I can't say I have seen this yet. I have two installs my RO install which is still .23.5 and my main install which is .24. And the Main install has the current version of FAR and I haven't noticed this problem yet. I have had a few test aircraft out and about since it came out. Can you tell me the exact profile of what you are doing to get this bug so I can see if it is a difference in flight profiles? And do you have a picture of the craft? Is there anything clipped into the craft?
  18. First, necrothread it is over a year old. Here is somethings to consider. 70m/s is just shy of a 160mph! Anything hitting the ground at 160mph is going to explode. Considering a Boeing 747 AIRLINER, lands at 77m/s or about 150knots I think you are fine if your horizontal velocity is 70-100m/s. Now if your vertical decent rate is higher than 10m/s then you are SLAMMING into the ground and that is why you are exploding. Try and touchdown at less than 10m/s preferably at 5m/s or less.
  19. This has to be one of the coolest things I have seen on the KSP forums in a LONG LONG time.
  20. Wrong section you should ask in the spacecraft exchange forum.
  21. Yes it works in .24. Not sure about the prices but it works.
  22. They work. Not sure about the costs, but they work.
  23. And .24 comes out and auto updates my current install LOL... So until I fix all of my plugins, which I am not even going to mess with right now, I am going to hold off posting anything.
