  1. Well, you could move it into a higher orbit, that's what I'd do. Honestly, my mindset would be 'I didn't put it up there to bring it back down', but that's just me.
  2. Wasn't aware of the series, thanks for that!
  3. I think the 'squad are chasing the casual crowd' comments that have been popping up since the last update need to be considered in this context, but i digress. You'd be suprised how much a wide base on your lander helps
  4. When you find the monolith, walk round it twenty-three times *clockwise* and then click on the monolith. It will be full of stars. This is the secret developer galaxy mode. Do not walk anticlockwise, this will anger the kracken. This works for 20% of all monoliths in game. It randomly chooses the monoliths when you start your game.
  5. Is that an option for the Kerbals when they run out of chocolate? Seriously though, I'd love to see resource gathering sometime soon.
  6. If I was going to play an MMO that charged a subscription, EVE would be the one I'd play. You can pay for the subscription with ingame currency afaik.
  7. Well there's: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/50394-Campaign-for-a-Kerbal-X-LEGO-set! http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/49900-LEGO-KSP-Rocket-Lander http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/47758-Kerbal-LEGO! But nothing official as yet afaik. I'd like to see it happen though, I had a bunch of lego space sets back in the 80's.
  8. It's a theory that's fairly well accepted, close enough IMHO. That's a misunderstanding stemming from the use of the word 'cloud', very similar to the term 'asteroid belt'.
  9. How many cards do you have so far? As far as I know, you only get 4 cards, and have to trade for the rest.
  10. Having more than 4GB of RAM would probably help slightly insofar as reducing the usage of your swap file, but the CPU is probably the real bottleneck.
  11. PHP <?php echo "hi there!\n"; ?>
  12. Did I mention I like this game?
  13. It was a toss-up between necroing this thread, and starting a new one... Anyway, according to the ever-reliable UK Sun newspaper, the implants from Deus Ex are real:
  14. You still want some RAM left over for the OS, surely? I'd say 8GB is the minimum needed these days. No. You can game on a laptop, you can own a laptop specifically for gaming. However, long-term a desktop is going to be far better suited for gaming, as it is far easier to upgrade.
  15. Quick bump, Terraria is 75% off on Steam at the moment - €2.49
  16. The main issues I have with 8 is the 'fixing' of things that were not broken, like full-screen notifications, dumbed-down 'something went wrong' error messages, and the new event log. (Admittedly the event log changes came in somewhere along Vista to 7, but the old version worked perfectly well, now I get to use 1/3 of my screen to see the events.) Oh and the gesture support. Someone really needs to have a talk with whoever came up with that one - lead pipe style. Metro is another great example of change for changes sake, but as it apes the Unity/Gnome 3 interface I'll give MS a pass on following the herd for that one. Frankly I care that my PC runs sanely more than an extra bit of performance or quicker boot time. But yeah I've held onto it, that's the curse of having to support it, much like yourself.

    Nightmares

My nightmares are a lot more mundane than OP's.
  18. I had a teacher in the 90s that claimed to be a member. It is a long-running troll community, much older than the usage of the word 'trolling'. Now the International Discordian Conspiracy on the other hand...
  19. If it's really that important to you, you do have the option of installing Ubuntu in dual-boot, and running the 64-bit version of KSP.
  20. Irish here, born in Dublin, moved to the north for half of my childhood, came running back to Dublin as soon as I could. Thankfully the situation in the north has improved rather dramatically in the last decade or so.
  21. I'll be playing both modes. I'd enjoy being able to do science in sandbox. Even though the science points would be useless from a gameplay point-of-view, they would give me another point of reference for what I had accomplished, other than flags and (debris of failed) landers.
  22. If only there was a way to play these games on PC, rendering these issues irrelevant...
