The bacteria which migrated kill the colony as they were not immune to the effects. The bacteria living in the highlands evolve into complex organisms, migrate, find the colony and develop a religion worshiping it.

After an impact with the 2nd moon of the planet, a third moon comes into the system in a synchronous orbit, this moon creates unstable tidal forces and life on that side of the planet dies, that was the side with all the bacteria and creatures:P

These migrate to the area with the deadly bacteria, these were not the creatures that developedan imunity, They died.

A mutation in one of the cells wipes out 33% of the bacteria while the remainder develop an immunity to the cell. They are evolving!

An asteroid hits one of the moons sending it into the atmosphere, it breaks up creating rings. however as the lower level grazes the atmosphere the area underneath it is inhabitale.

The heating from tectonics releases gas from heated rocks, giving the planet an atmosphere, cooling it back down.

The gravitational forces stops meteors from hitting the planet and it forms a solid surface.
