Aircraft carriers are already equipped with an net to land planes without carrier modifications. If you want to land a carrier this is what you want to modify.

I use Mechjeb for flying around Kerbin. I have a Jool ship sitting in orbit because I'm afraid it will fail. On one of my SSTO launches, I forgot to pause the game during the orbital insertion and it ran out of fuel while I was Walking my dog.

My second Attempt, with both a payload and landing at KSC. The B has more batteries, a cube sat and an RTG.

I began launching payloads on my already built SSTO. I'm in the process of building a cargo SSTO and a space station to be launched on the SSTO.

The Chinese got here before NASA and they both have positive results so I hold this in high hopes.
