  1. If you're getting 6-7 frames on Kerbin, you're probably running very memory intensive mods. Try loading it with just Verion, to minimize lag and crashing. In my testing, the only thing that really damages FPS is when you enter Abaddon SOI for the first time due to all those textures loading.
  2. Not much. I haven't tested it on a potato, though.
  3. Yes, they are. If you use one launch, attach a small probe to a BFR (Big Rocket), intercepting Abaddon or Manai, using Cyssor or Verviedi as an aerobrake, and flying from there with your remaining fuel. The method I recommend for return missions is building things in orbit around Jool. It's a very hard thing to do. It is intended to simulate going to Alpha Centauri in real life.
  4. It's been fun. Now I have a license. Download pulled due to Dropbox not liking my file. I would appreciate somebody making a promotional video (I suck.) of this mod when I restore the DL. I would also appreciate some feedback.
  5. New release: V2.1.1 Features: -New moons for Verion -Fix for Weird Texture Bug on Troon.
  6. Kerbal Universe 2 is a mod that adds a lot of happy, fun planets to KSP. Getting to these planets should be a challenge to even veteran players! Thank you for making a mod spotlight, PTTGRW! (Subscribe to this guy and spam him with likes!) Screenshots Vovacat17's Verviedi landing! Cloud Mod Support! Beautiful, Beautiful Verviedi now has clouds. Planet List: Contained in "Abaddon" folder- Abaddon - A hot, bright star nearing the end of it's life. Fierbinte - A once habitable world destroyed by Abaddon's first phase of stellar expansion. It is now a radioactive cinder. Verviedi - A dead world with an oxygen atmosphere and high radiation. Verviedi is the site of the ancient Verviedyn civilization, which was destroyed by a massive nuclear war. Diamas - Verviedi's first moon and a captured comet. Briefly, it contained interplanetary missile silos before their destruction. Phobius - Verviedi's second moon. It was once home to a scientific colony of Verviedyns, but was razed by interplanetary missiles. Cyssor - A large, purple gas giant. Contains high quantities of Iodine. Ceti - The first moon of Cyssor. Has a large, world-spanning ocean. Corvus - The second moon of Cyssor. Very rocky. This moon may have been a base for Verviedyn naval vessels, but records are spotty. Evon - A purple moon. It may have absorbed compounds from Cyssor in the distant past. Talon - Another rocky moon of Cyssor. Nothing special. Folion - An oxygen-atmosphered gas giant. Contained in the "Manai" folder - (Planets created by Sylandro) Manai - The second companion star of Kerbol to be discovered, and it has stirred up a huge controversy shortly after, how is Kerbol getting all of these companions, anyway? Egar - The innermost planet of the star Manai's planetary system. To make it simple, it's a scorched wreck, but how did Egar get it's name? A kerbal scientist snuck into Jeb, Bill and Bob Kerman's room and found that Bob Kerman was sleeptalking. Tyvor -A formidable world, with seismic activity and majestic sulfur dioxide plumes. Having a barbeque here is one of Jebediah Kerman's various desires. Brachios -This place is relatively dangerous, obviously and prominently. So, yeah. Oh, and did i mention that this place is dangerous? Jamona -A dark gas giant rich in history. So rich, in fact, that it is several times denser than Jool. Skrii - A yellow world named for the Kerbal god of Procrastination, Riard - A light-colored, rocky and cratery body. Tintai - A planet with a large amount of craters. How is that even possible, anyway? There is more crater than moon! Pershina -A blue gas giant. Appears to have a mild cognitohazardous effect that makes subjects not want to write about it. Meh. Pershimu - Another dark, rich planet. Thought to be discovered by Jeff Kerman, but a filled out order form in orbit of it has raised controversy. Contained in the "Kerbol Expansion" folder- Verion - Verion is the result of a long and frantic search for a second gas giant. Blalo - A near perfect twin of Kerbin. Troon -A very rocky, gray moon. The cracks spreading across it's surface have an unknown origin. Fantoma - A strange, recently discovered moon of Verion. When flyby 1 passed it, it's Giant Carnivorous Space Sponge detector went crazy. Kethos - The largest moon of Verion. And very yellow. Camna - Camna is known for it's low gravity and light-colored surface. Excellent dining, horrible neighborhood, bad humor. Folion - Folion is a small Oxygen armosphered gas giant with three moons. Foem- A flat, rocky moon with bright blue patches. Athao- A high gravity, no atmosphere body with rough, sharp terrain. VERY hard to land on. Hephus- A flat, brown, speckled planet. Cleathea - A turquiose giant with one moon. Ostarth- An icy moon with pockets of Methane under the surface. These pockets often explode, creating huge craters. Kydros - The third-to-last frontier. An icy planet twice as far from Kerbol as Eeloo. Download: http://kerbal.curseforge.com/ksp-mods/222534-kerbal-universe-2-0-24 Just drag and drop into KSP folder. Contents: 2 star systems far from Kerbol, and three new gas giants in the Kerbol system. License: GPL-3.0 (http://opensource.org/licenses/GPL-3.0) Same as PlanetFactory CE. Excessively Asked Questions (EAQ) Does this mod work with FAR or NEAR?: It depends on which planet packs you are using. Please notify me immediately if this mod breaks anything else. Is it possible to have the other stars not orbit Kerbol?: No. KSP is coded with Kerbol as the center of the universe. I am waiting on StarSystems to implement planet making to include this feature. Are the planets really that close together?: No. My pictures seem to fail to address this. My game crashed, what do I do?: Install Active Texture Management. If this doesn't work, ask me again. This is normally PFCE's fault. How far away are the star systems? Are they even reachable by stock parts launched from Kerbin? They are extremely far away. (5 times, give or take, Eeloo's orbit). And yes, they are! Stick a tiny probe on a massive rocket and burn away! All the stars are in equatorial orbits, so I recommend assembling ships in orbit of Jool. Something something KSP interstellar: Go for it. This mod gives KSPI a purpose! Something something resource mods: Yes, resources will spawn on these planets. Hopefully.

  8. Learn to spell, learn your grammar. This hurts to read.
  9. Doing the final debug pass now. Prepare your installations.
  10. Alright, Manai and Verion are in. Absurd spikiness bug is fixed. Major SOI bug on Manai was fixed (22000 meter SOI? What?). First alpha will be released today.
  11. I actually saved that, so I just need to make clouds and copy/paste. All assets from the original Kerbal Universe are still on my computer, so expect quicker development.
  12. They clash with the planet's surface.
  13. Now that school's over, KU2's development can finally continue. It is very buggy, and does... interesting things occasionally. This mod requires PlanetFactory CE. Due to memory limit, this mod is incompatible with NASAmission. Screenshots Cloud Mod Support! The red clouds are a texture bug. Will be fixed later. Beautiful, Beautiful Verviedi now has clouds. 14. Having trouble with low res planets, even though I am now using 4096x2048 textures. Besides this, pack is progressing nicely. Space Engine likes to crash when I export 4096x2048, so progress is slow. Only 8 celestial bodies to go!

    Cartographer

Added more stuff; fixed paragraph two's repetition.
  16. So I set my resoution in SpaceEngine export to 2048x1024, and my planets look like goddamn Goldeneye. Help! What do I set it to to not get a pixellated mess?
  17. An idea I had a while ago. Please submit constructive criticism. Cartographer Part One He walked the rim of the thin brass catwalk surrounding the intricate machine below. Below lay nearly 6 kilometres of machinery. Gears, photon conduits, and fiber optic wire were combined to create one huge device. He looked up from his brisk pace around the upper walkway, searching from the nearest bridge into the inner sphere. He located one quickly, and walked over it into the inner sphere chambers. It was silent, here. The constant clicking, humming, and buzzing was dampened by the sonic nullifiers in the walls around the sphere. He didn't understand the technology, and he did not care. He was here for one reason, and that was all. In the middle of the sphere, suspended by impossible means, was a delicate-looking assortment of brass and titanium wire rings, and floating holographs each representing one star. He was not interested by the scale of the Cartographer, for he had been here before. He looked down off of the catwalk, and saw the arcane devices that powered, updated, and suspended the Cartographer in place. A delicate, complexly jointed mechanical arm extended from the floor, and extended a needle. He did not resist as the arm took a biological sample. A small light on the arm's end, next to the needle, lit up purple, and a bridge of solid light appeared in front of him, allowing him to walk to a floating console. Reverently, he took a black data storage device from a pocket in his grey robe, and inserted it into the console. There was a brief pause, and then more lights started appearing on the Cartographer's map. One was smaller than the others, too small, in fact, to be a star, but it was. He turned to leave and took a step back onto the light-bridge. An impact on the back of his head was his only warning, as another mechanical arm swung into it's cradle, and crashed into him. Knocked unconscious by the blow, he fell into the put containing the arcane devices that maintained the map. There was an energy surge as the Cartographer's systems detected a falling object. With a high pitched whine, a large wire apparatus on the bottom of the pit began to spin and pointed towards the falling body. There was no sound. The body vanished, with a sharp scent of ozone and exotic flourocarbons. Part Two It was midnight here. Two moons hung above, and the sky was a dark black-blue, with many stars. A body lay in a small crater in the ground, with a black data storage device embedded in the flawless grass beside it. The body stirred in the crater. He looked up, and noticed the concerned-looking face staring at him. It was not far above him, and was shaped like an ancient can, with huge eyes protruding from taut green skin. The creature watching him blinked once, and stretched out it's stubby green fingers to help him up. It opened it's small mouth, and said one word. "Ogargótarc." He took the hand and stood up, and brushed himself off with both five-fingered hands. Disoriented, he swayed and steadied himself to speak. "Who are you? Do you understand me?" The alien nodded enthusiastically, and smiled. It repeated the same word again. "Ogargótarc." When the alien saw his confused expression, it replied again. "Cartographer." He awoke suddenly, at the time he had programmed into his cerebral implants when he had worked on the Cartographer project. He looked around wildly, wondering where he was. This was not his sleeping chamber in the outer spheres of the Cartographer. His eyes scanned the room he was in. The walls were black and grey, with a single yellow door at the far end, and a painting depicting two of the alien creatures standing on a huge bluish iron pyramid. In the background of the painting, he could see a huge green sphere. The caption below read "Kerbals on Vall". His mind stored this as useful knowledge. He sat for a few minutes, staring at the strange material that made up the walls and floor. It had a strange texture, and seemed to be completely flat, despite having a rough texture. Finally, after what may have been an hour or ten minutes, a single Kerbal walked into the room, and extended it's hand. In the stubby four-fingered hand lay a robust-looking headset, with a microphone and ear covers that looped around his skull completely. He put it on, not willing to offend the being before him. The Kerbal reached up, extending it's arm far more than he thought possible. The appendage pressed a button on the right ear cover of his headset, and there was a sharp noise and suddenly a clearer sound. The Kerbal nodded and sat down. It opened it's mouth. "My name is Wernher. We have much to discuss." Part Three "We have explored our entire solar system,"Wernher began. "But we have not explored all of space. When I helped found the Space Program, I swore an oath to help Kerbalkind expand into the stars. We explored our entire system, but all we found were sterile planets. Kerbalkind could never live on them. But then, we found you, and you are what we have been looking for. Proof that we could truly expand. Tell me, what do you say to helping me?" The mapmaker at the other end of the table was unfazed, and replied. "I will help you, but only if you promise to teach me about this world and this system. All I wish is knowledge."
  18. Working on stuff. No further data is offered, but I just blew an hour and made 6 celestial bodies. My fingers are killing me. Try using textures from Space Engine. Pictures from above please. I want to see what this hunk of meat looks like.
