  1. The faster an object goes the more mass it has. Closer to the speed of light the mass increases exponentially until approaching infinity. Since E=Mc², the amount of energy would also approach infinity. Even if we had infinite energy, the mass of the object would also be infinite, so what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Is it either impossible or is it just improbable that the object would move?
  2. There was a "documentary" on National Geographic about this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8SaPPV4Ov4 (Off topic: I really liked the population zero of the same series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJLVUWEmayQ )
  3. There is a very good theory that every black hole contains a universe, and our universe is inside a black hole. http://www.insidescience.org/content/every-black-hole-contains-new-universe/566 It has some holes, like whether there is a "mother" universe or if it stretches back for infinity.
  4. Not at all http://www.bubblebox.com/swf6/20131391/long_way.swf Right click the link, "save as", open the file in your browser. What game do you want? Edit: tested that game and it seems it does not save.
  5. You can only do it to people in full view, and the authorities decide to lock you away to prevent it from happening again. Nice reference. I'd like the power of the improbability drive.
  6. Since there is no wish I wish to work on night shifts with my japanese sleeping pattern
  7. Death beckons with its bony finger. You are dead. On your grave lies a 20x20x20 rubik's cube. I wish I could have a normal sleeping pattern
  8. To expand the topic a bit, what is the point of researching n-dimensional mathematical objects, such as the hypercube?
  9. E=Mc²? I'll probably be harshly put in place by K^2 for my assumptions
  10. http://www.comicsanscriminal.com/ The user below me couldn't agree more
  11. Multiply the speed of light by 10, just for the morbid curiosity of watching how the universe would collapse.
  12. I was in the Jool system for the first time a few days ago with a science probe. I didn't think much about it and I was happy when I got the SOI change, so didn't notice I was entering a retrograde orbit. I circularized low around Jool and did some science. Then I thought I'd visit one of the moons and see them for myself. Made a node and wow! That was easy. So I zoomed in for the SOI change and Vall sped by me like lightning. This puzzled me a bit, and when I zoomed out and saw the massive, skewed, elliptical orbit I realized I was going retrograde. I was hoping to land somewhere but that was definitely out of the question. My orbit extended over half the moons on the periapsis side and four times as long on the apoapsis side, so I thought I could get some science by randomly stumbling into a moon. I got one SOI change (that wreaked havoc with my Jool orbit) and started waiting for the next one. By the time I noticed I HAD a SOI change it was too late, and passed over it at maximum timewarp. My probe then promptly left the Jool system, going escape velocity from Kerbol. Having this episode on tape wouldn't be so interesting. But I really wish I had my reaction on cam. I imagine I pulled off a good Kim Jong-Un face
  13. Boosters, I see. You just put it on a radial decoupler and add a strut at the top then?
  14. Nope, never heard of it. Push button to have unlimited money (without causing inflation) but you can only eat ONE dish of your choice, forever. No other food than the dish of your choice.
  15. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_%28betting_system%29 This is a good way to get banned from many online casinos and will get you thrown out from many real life ones.

  17. Hahaha I read a few good math jokes a while back, a quick google found them A physicist, a biologist, and a mathematician are sitting on a bench across from a house. They watch as two people go into the house, and then a little later, three people walk out. The physicist says, "The initial measurement was incorrect." The biologist says, "They must have reproduced." And the mathematician says, "If exactly one person enters that house, it will be empty." Infinitely many mathematicians walk into a bar. The first says, "I'll have a beer." The second says, "I'll have half a beer." The third says, "I'll have a quarter of a beer." The fourth says, "I'll have an eighth of a beer." The barman pulls out just two beers. The mathematicians are all like, "That's all you're giving us? How drunk do you expect us to get on that?" The bartender says, "Come on guys. Know your limits."
  18. I see satellites as a utility and the ion engines part of it. I feel the engine belongs there in the same way RCS belongs in control, even though RCS is technically propulsion too.
  19. Von Neumanns remind me of the old 90s game Machines, by Acclaim. The story went that the Earth was getting desperately low on resources and decided to send machines capable of setting up an infrastructure to extract resources and create the foundations of colonization on planet after planet. They lost contact with the machines, and so decided to send more. Upon arrival elsewhere in the galaxy the new machines eventually found the established machines. The two Controllers each staked claim to completing the mission, believing the other to be faulty. The entire dialogue lasted a fraction of a microsecond, and led to an interplanetary war on a MASSIVE scale, with tons of resources spent on weapons development. Sadly the story declined when the game got going.
  20. Ah, this could be very effective. How much dV do you get when pooping out of a 1.2 ton pod?
  21. Me and Jeb had a great time testing out our Jet Buggy
  22. I imagine there existed at least one Soviet cosmonaut with the same mind-set as Jeb
  23. That's exactly what I was thinking Haven't got docking ports or nuclear engines on my career save yet. Some mods gave me trouble a while into the .23 update and I did a fresh install and a new save.
