  1. As stated above, the ion engine is not a good idea You wont be able to kill your speed fast enough to avoid crashing.
  2. Just found out that if you make a small rover with a probe core, an antenna and a command seat, and mount a kerbal, you can take surface samples and make EVA reports and transmit them all without getting down of the rover. Its fun to take surface samples while driving lol
  3. Cool easter egg! Pity the game aint that cool tho
  4. Mine's currently chilling in the lounge while others die testing the different stages of my latest death tra... erhm ship.
  5. It is an issue if you plan on transmitting your science instead of doing return trips. Although you can use additional pods for extra battery and torque.
  6. Although flying the desingns you make is the actual point of building them, i seem to enjoy more the building proccess, with all the planning, designing and testing, so i guess im a builder.
  7. You mean you are assembling it in orbit? If not, what you need are more struts! If you are trying to assemble it in orbit, theres not much you can do to add strength to those docking ports... I think there are mods like KAS that allow you to add struts with kerbals on EVA, but havent tested myself...
  8. I envy you, i've been playing since .19 and cant for the life of me design a competent spaceplane (or plane for that matter), much less land it safely Too much rocketing i guess
  9. I flipped the first time i tried to land on Jool.... Yeah yeah at that time i didnt know it wasnt possible I was in shock when my lander passed through the "surface" and started going down the blackness...then exploded at about 250m under it heh
  10. Found a picture of my Kerbin station in 0.21. Its lacking the escape pods from the 4 small docking arms, and those two big things at the bottom are an habitat and a greenhouse from the H.O.M.E plugin. I still havent started building a new station in 0.22, maybe i'll start this weekend if i feel like it
  11. I think one of the new planets in Krag's Planet Factory plugin already has rings, so i guess it can be done. Havent tested myself tho, i dont know how its done, nor how much it might affect the CPU...
  12. I remember building an ion probe with loads of deltaV, and then abandoning it miserably due to the absurd burn times. Never came back to those engines.... they are not even suited to be in "utility"
  13. Took my Jool Probulator to Jool, carrying 4 science probes stuffed with experiments for exploration of the system. Braked until i got into a highly eccentric orbit and undocked the first probe. The probe then deorbited, and sank into Jool's atmosphere, transmitting lots of good data about the atmosphere before it got crushed 250m under the "surface" of Jool. Now the plan is to try to plan 3 more encounters with some of Jool's moons and plant the other 3 probes on them
  14. The batteries and the solar panels, so i could start doing some serious science! Also, there was much rejoicing the day the struts were unlocked
  15. I'd use Futurama's Alien font one, from here http://www.futurama-madhouse.net/fonts
  16. Same here, although im starting to miss my 0.21 sandbox save now that i have all the parts again
  17. Get to an escape from Kerbin. Time warp. Get to solar orbit. Set your manouver node. Time to point to that node, but ship doesnt move..... Electric charge=0.00 So much for opening those solar panels lol.
  18. I made it to Duna with no nukes as soon as i had the "poodle" and the 909s. First time a one way trip with a science rover, then succesfully got there and back in one launch. Managed my landing with the radially mounted 909s, then launched to orbit with what was left of the 909s, detached, and finished the mission with the "poodle".
  19. I got pretty obsessed at the beggining too. Nowadays I try to balance my game time between KSP and the other titles i might be interested in playing at that moment (currently Hearthstone and Arkham Origins). But still, when im playing something else i typically have some KSP idea, and switch to it
  20. What i did in the beggining of career mode to be able to actually transmit experiments was using several pods instead of one for the added battery. Also you get some nice additional torque.
  21. My first try was on Duna some time ago, with a periapsis altitude of about 10-11 Km.... Didnt end well, the orbit ended up not returning and i crashed with a crapload of lateral speed
  22. On the new 0.22 save I'm currently on a program of interplanetary manned missions with return home, hopefully picking the solitary kerbsi left stranded on different worlds on my manned rovers. Current mission is landed on Duna very very far away from the rover, waiting for it to cover the distance to get there to initiate return home
