Is anyone else hoping the planet gets named Rupert? But in all seriousness I'm hoping they call it Persephone.

What Is Your Biggest Accomplishment in KSP thus far?
DerpenWolf replied to TheOfficialStorm's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'd say this was pretty good I was also the first to do a duna Ion lander SSTO which are now broken in 1.0 -
Sadness. Just found another thing that was broke in 1.0

Welp, Apparently the changes the ion engines and solar panels in ksp 1.0 just barely broke duna ion lander VTOL SSTO's. Hopefully we can get an atmospheric isp change for the ion engine or a solar panel buff so we can continue to build these ultra light flyers. Here are some pics of the fun while it lasted. -
I honestly never thought this would happen... Welcome back Macey! Also wasn't HatBat planing on finishing Macey's series at one point? Well, either way we now get even MORE epic ksp military stuffs!!!

Welp, almost already have 2 new 1.0 ships nearly ready for release! Going to probually finish up some bigger ships before putting up anything but for now have some pictures! Got a nice SSTO fighter that can drop its jet engines to shed weight (and potentially hold more fuel in their place) and has a nice range upon reaching orbit, front bit could use some tweaking though. And a flying wing bomber that will be needing a BD armory pass when the mod gets updated Got a few other concepts/updates in the works but hopefully I can get a nice little 1.0 updated fleet up soon! Also another random question, will kethane station remain kethane as we now have stock resources?
-
Whats your plan for the future and 1.0? NERVA's now only use liquid fuel and well... a lot has changed in general (mining, new aero model, etc). I'm assuming your probually going to finish your current series with a previous save before jumping into anything with the new update so should we submit new craft from 1.0 for future use?

KSP Has taught me more about life than life itself has.

Ksp has taught me that even though your space-plane looks cool its probually not going to work -

Post your epic creations here

Here are a few of mine: My first Mega station which I launched way back into a duna orbit And Here is what succeeded it Was the first to make a duna SSTO with pure ion power(literally the first thing I did in .23.5, Actually I did the math before I even made the craft) Don't know if I was the first to do this but this was my second priority after the ion lander. Only an A-Class but considering how hard it was to make a vehicle that picked the asteroid up right this was a miracle of design! I also have my mega carrier with a functioning mainsail powered launch tube -
Bring Fish -If they die you don't really care that much and they are pretty disposable, They might make a nice snack actually. -They breed faster than mammals so you can get a lot of them fast -With a good tank setup they probually won't have any trouble in a zero-g environment as they already sort of lived in something like it and they probually have a better understanding of living in a 3d environment than most other creatures. -They can function as part of a simple ecosystem by turning plant goo we won't eat into fish goo that plants eat Basically what I'm getting at here is that fish are food and friends. My childhood has lied to me

Ok so there are a lot of blank buttons in the current IVA's and I think it could be pretty cool to utilize some of them for things such as the abort, landing gear, lights, and other action keys (1,2,3,etc...). It would also be nice if the views would be made more useful for things like docking and atmospheric flight (Mk1-2 Command Pod could be better for docking and the Mk2 cockpits, though nice could be altered slightly to give a better flight view. It would also be cool if the command seat got an IVA! Thoughts?

Ok so I'm looking into finally doing a single stage to laythe and back SSTO and I have a few quick questions 1. How much delta-v do I need? I think I have a few craft capable of making the trip but I want to make sure first! 2. What was that trick for making it so that both turbojets flame out at the same time that was floating around a while back? Just want to know this for another interesting design I have in mind! Thanks for your time!

I knew I've seen the ladder somewhere else before! Very cool!

A 1.25m Motorized Rotary Bearing should defiantly be in the 1.0 release mainly due to the fact that its incredibly useful and that many have been trying to build work arounds to not having the part (helicoptors, planes, doors, rotating engines, etc). The part itself would probually look a lot like a docking port and would be able to operate under power and holds positon (consuming an electric charge) or it could be set to a free rotation mode where it can freely move! My current idea to how it would work is as follows: Things you can adjust with tweakables -Inverse rotation direction -Change rotation speed (slide bar like that for fuel or thrust) -Free Rotation (toggles motorized and non motorized mode) Things you can adjust with action groups -Toggle Free Rotation -Rotate clockwise (effected by inverse of rotation direction) -Rotate counterclockwise (effected by inverse of rotation direction) Feel free to suggest better ideas onto how a system like this should be controlled and make sure to give me some feedback on wheter or not you think including this part in 1.0 would be a good idea or not!

Love the starburst rounds! Very cool idea!

Kerbals being more petlike
DerpenWolf replied to ceauke's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I would really like seeing something to add more character to kerbals implemented! At the moment even with the new rep system kerbals don't really feel that personal. However if you don't want to bring bob because he keeps eating bill and jeb's snacks then that's much more fun! A few more traits for kerbals could be Curiosity (do they wander off and look at shiny rock? Maybe they make a big discovery/extra science?) and Clumsiness (Jeb dropped the goo sample again) -
I like the part but most of my designs don't need it. If we had a extra button that prevented even alt-f12 cheating and I could put it on top of a shielded docking port then I think I would use it more but for now... nope.
-
I have to admit I am a bit skeptical but if it works then that's absolutely fantastic! If we can get a decently powerful model working we just need to put a nuclear reactor up in orbit and away we go!!! Also I wonder if this could possibly cut down the time needed for interstellar trips by a large degree? Finally does anyone have any clue why the drive works as I would think that a equal force would be pushing on both sides of the drive despite the two different ends due to the slope of the walls?

Whats the stupidest name you've given to one of your ships?

Just watched a live stream of United Launch Alliance CEO Tory Bruno at a Stanford University event. It sounds like they are considering just reusing the engines by bringing them down on parachutes as they are pretty much the most expensive part of the rocket and easier to bring down than the entire thing. He didn't talk much about it and we can really be certain what they are going to do quite yet but sound like this could be very interesting to see develop. Also sounds like they will be releasing info on their next generation of spacecraft in April. Thoughts?
