You need more than 4000 delta-V to make it to orbit. After insertion, begin a prograde burn when the Mun is about 100 degrees from you. You should have your apoapsis rise and if you time it right will get a gravity assist and freefall back to Kerbin for a re-entry. Hope this helps!
Yeah, that was where I screwed up. I went down to 99,000-ish and slowed down too much. Otherwise I would have attempted to circularize and flyby some moons for extra science. I also made this. It's an edited screenshot, but it looks nice.
(They already do. They project lasers onto the table, and detect if your fingers are there or not.) Granted. You stare at the projector and become blind. I wish for Jool to be easier to aerobrake in.
Put thousands of those Sepatron motors on the stage you want to separate. The black side is an air intake, when you activate it, the white side opens and the fire comes out of it. Your staging will fly away, in a negative direction.
When making spaceplanes, be sure to have the blue sphere (center of lift) all the way at the back, and the yellow sphere (center of mass) all the way to the front. This leads to stable atmospheric flight.
