  1. Not impossible, just tedious. A few people posted about circumnavigating Duna with rovers, and I visited three biomes on the Mun in one drive with the smallest wheels. Of course, Tylo's bigger, so that would make it even harder. The "teleport" approach would be difficult to do right because you'd have to take power and geography into account. When and for how long are the solar panels illuminated? Is there an insurmountable slope on the way, neccessitating a detour and prolonging the journey? An option is to take an hour or two each week, start a playlist in the background and drive the rover while listening. Save and repeat next week.
  2. Hey, the magic boulder wasn't imaginary!
  3. It's a meme originating from Starcraft. And no, I never played it either. Your spaceplane looks wicked, though
  4. It's not exactly top priority, but I'd like to see it overhauled sooner rather than later. After flying many hours in various flight sims, KSP's aerodynamic behaviour is... somewhat painful to watch.
  5. Well, there's almost always some sort of noise in our surroundings, so it makes sense we become accustomed to it and percieve it as normal. I don't think I could fall asleep with it on regularly...neither our house nor the dorm I'm in have air conditioning, so any humming is usually coming from a broken appliance. Hard to relax that way =p
  6. During a heat wave, no. Not because of the humming, though. ...but do you keep it on during winter nights, as well?
  7. No. Accelerometers only work when landed on a solid surface. Which is technically still a location in the atmosphere, but let's not descend into semantics.
  8. Love the concept! ...though using chipboard is a bit daring even by kerbal safety standards.
  9. Bringing the mammoth back is doable. Hard, yes, but doable. There are ethical issues (for example, whether it's acceptable to focus efforts on that when many species are going extinct right now), but personally? It would be nice to see a project like this succeed. However, regarding the dinosaurs, prepare to have your bubble burst. It isn't possible to extract any meaningful data out of that, DNA has a half-life of less than a millenium. We're talking orders of magnitude greater than the last ice age, after all :/
  10. Easy way to visualize it: you have two identical hikers, both are equally fit, rested, hydrated... and weighing the same. Now you give one of them a backpack with a couple of bricks inside to carry, and give both of them an energy bar. The one without the backpack will get much further before he collapses of exhaustion, with the same amount of initial energy, though they have equally strong legs. How much further depends on the amount of bricks you stuff inside. Okay, so SPAAAACE! doesn't exactly work like that, but in this particular case it's a useful analogy
  11. Ah, sorry-brain freeze. It's a bit late In most of central Europe, Z and Y are swapped on keyboards. Edit: like that. @OP: Action groups are probably your best bet. If you forget to set one up... Actions on the fly is more versatile.
  12. It's surprisingly clear for having been taken in, I presume, early morning? My phone usually slows down the shutter speed under such circumstances and everything reduces to a blur:)
  13. And then you try to turn SAS on before going into docking mode, press a bit on the right side and end the mission in a fiery blaze
  14. Ooh, nice idea! Though what exactly constitutes an unplanned disassembly might be worth considering. A broken solar panel, or just the most terrifying, flirting-with-death mishaps?
  15. 8/10 Blue dragon...ish thing. Not bad, a bit on the small side though Now THAT gets a 10/10.
  16. YOU. I just tested out your mod. And I think I love you This is going to make probe and other small-scale missions much more interesting! The parts are balanced against stock almost perfectly, and look great. One of the best part mods ever! Also, it appears to work in .23 without any problems, at least on my install. Many thanks!
  17. This isn't exclusive to the gear bay. IIRC, struts and fuel lines are massless during flight as well. Dunno when/if a fix is coming, though.
  18. Fair enough. Giving "female" Kerbals, dunno, long hair and eyelashes would pretty much be the worst decision possible. However, slight variations in facial proportions could go a long way. Kind of like in the sketch, just without slimmer bodies- we don't see them under the bulky suits anyway. Bwuh? I've never seen a female-sounding name in the generator, and the "proper name" list only contains male ones. Then again, except for rare occasions, all ethnic female names in our country end with -a, so there may be some bias...
  19. So THAT is why there aren't any female Kerbals around...it all makes sense now =O
  20. Pardon me, sir, but there seem to be some plane parts on your rocket.
  21. Well, here's some of mine. I use a Canon SX20IS, with hacked firmware to allow some extra adjustment options. But as it's still not an SLR, most shots require slight editing for contrast, hues and white balance. Nothing too extreme, though. This one actually wasn't edited at all Some sepia thrown into the mix: Feel free to criticize, I'm still far from being an expert
  22. Very nice! I literally saw this thread two minutes before launch, barely caught it. Still, the MAVEN launch was more exciting to watch
  23. Well, you're not alone there. Welcome!
  24. Haven't had enough time to test it all out yet, but I LOVE the tweakables! I was stalling the launching of interplanetary ships because the propulsion sections were too heavy to put up in one launch. Now that they can be fueled up in orbit, they will be twice as massive! *cackles maniacally*
  25. Umm... What Biker Joe said. Try using the external seat, that way you don't have to get within grabbing distance...
