Chaka Monkey - Closed Development Thread
AppleDavidJeans replied to YANFRET's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
How fast are your rockets going into the gravity turn, especially under MechJeb control, if you have it? Cause I've observed in vanilla KSP that when in MechJeb control, since the autopilot focuses on getting onto the trajectory as close as possible without regard for the integrity of the rocket, if you go in too fast, you will flip out. -
[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
AppleDavidJeans replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Wait, so the Delta IV family is basically ready for release, except that it needs to have YANFRET's textures installed? -
I have this idea for the LLV (or a family, to be exact): http://www.russianspaceweb.com/kaskad.html Comes in variants of 2, 3, 4, and 6 boosters. The fifth one's got a beefed up upper stage. Figure you should give a shot at that.

[0.25] Lionhead Aerospace Inc. - Icarus v0.4 updated
AppleDavidJeans replied to Yogui87's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Whoa that's huge. Is the solar sail involved with propulsion/electricity or just decorative? -
Rosetta, Philae and Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
AppleDavidJeans replied to Vicomt's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Philae did NOT FAIL. Just you know, in a sub-optimal place, but still good enough for SCIENCE! And ESA landing on a comet? BADASS -

KOSMOS 3/14/2015 RD-170 Family Released!
AppleDavidJeans replied to CardBoardBoxProcessor's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Excellent! I prefer KerbalStuff. Less messier than CurseForge. -
Hey Beale, I noticed that ZodiaK hadn't yet provided a craft file for the Vostok (Almach) orbiter, so I quickly whipped one up for it. Here's the link: https://www./?qs6m307cvuzm266 Should be close enough to that Almach depicted in your album on the OP.

I reviewed the footage, focusing on that little bang. The launch tower started moving away just moments after that bang occurred. Therefore, I'm not sure that little bang isn't related to the launch clamps releasing. I'm currently trying to find footage of previous launches this up close to determine if that bang did occur on the other launches.

I have reached the same conclusion.

Apparently, a rapid unplanned disassembly (R.U.D.) happened in the engine section of the Antares, and so the rocket lost velocity and fell on its tail. Apparently, 200k pounds of fuel + a rocket falling to the ground shortly after launch on its rear end tends to make 5,000 pounds of science and classified equipment go up in flames. Oh, btw, Wikipedia is quick to update things

[1.1.0] ORIGAMI foldable antenna dishes for RemoteTech v0.9
AppleDavidJeans replied to IGNOBIL's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
What if I don't want RemoteTech but want the dishes only? Would they still work without it? -

[WIP] Space Launch System (SLS) and ORION (MPCV)
AppleDavidJeans replied to Stevincent's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Certainly hope this didn't die out. It looks to be a very promising mod. Just an update on the status of this mod will do for now. -
Beale, the Vostok didn't land on Earth with the cosmonaut inside. Rather, the cosmonaut was ejected from the capsule at 7 km and descended to Earth separately. Are you gonna do that with your Vostok? Maybe you could put the kerbonaut in a cylindrical capsule within the Vostok with a built in ejection motor and parachute?

Oh, so you're writing programs for calculators just like me! Looks like you've made solid work in those programs, even though I don't read whatever language that program is written in, only TI-BASIC. This is good work, even though not many have an HP unlike LameLefty up there. Only calculator that people think of when they hear graphing calculator is the TI-84. I could draw some inspiration from these programs though and write my own programs based upon them. I actually am writing programs like these in TI-BASIC, or at least a dialect of BASIC, for my project.

Note about the 0.25 update: This project will not be affected by the 0.25 update since none of the physical or orbital characteristics of any body in the stock KSP game have been changed in the update. So as long as your TI-84 or 83 can support this project (aside from the wonky text behavior), you'll be fine.

I'm currently working on a file that will be the backbone of the KSPREFER program that I'm gonna write. It's a table of values (technically a matrix, but intended to behave like one) that lists a body's characteristics. Here's an image: Will contain 578 points of data (34 per body for a total of 17 bodies). The values are taken from KSP Wiki.

orly? Any chance of a collaboration with Beale on this one, especially on launchers and space stations?
