  1. Classic KSP drag bug/oversight... it's like the one where the Mk2 cargo bay has less drag when opened... OP can you also test out empirically if the different drag readouts correspond to actual drag? Something like max height or distance in otherwise identical craft?
  2. Like others here I used it for my mini-pollo build I did for fun, using the mk-1 capsule as the mk-3 equivalent and scaling everything from there.
  3. I really am still bummed out about the barn. I honestly feel that it was a 60-40 decision but the 40% group was much more sophisticated and eloquent in their opposition.
  4. I think the OP is best served by focusing on his Eve landing and less on stirring up non-existent drama on the forums. That being said, cubic struts, is that not a thing anymore?
  5. KSP2 would presumably be a full release separate from KSP1 so I doubt anyone's fabric would be destroyed. As generous as the updates may be I would be shocked if T2 just gave away a sequel to all OG owners of KSP
  6. Are people now longer in favor of the OG trick of using the small cubic struts as mounting points? Or does it do something wonky w the aero?
  7. I think the craftbuilding is kind of the fun for a lot of us I would love a KSP2, not built on Unity, that looks great, has multi-thread physics and can take proper advantage of GPUs, etc. I would gladly pay 60 bucks for that
  8. My friend I have watched that asteroid landing video (several years ago now, wow how time flies) and I know that's false! Ever since the nerf I don't find the nukes to be worthwhile; for that small an increase in ISP I'd rather just send off a flotilla including refuelers and do the burn in a third of the RL time. That's basically my move with my lander. Glide to a nice landing where I want, top off, and go. My initial eve sea level TWR is a touch under 1, so the wings stay on until TWR reaches ~1.3 then they get staged off and the craft just follows a rocket profile. The whole thing is sort of sigmoid shaped.
  9. Is no one else a fan of HTOL (or I suppose more accurately HLTO) on Eve? I could never really consistently land vertical rocket landers on Eve without cheesing reloads
  10. My dude this is impossible to see. Can you plz also consider using a common service like imgur?
  11. It's just for fun in an otherwise (frankly) moribund forum community, as long as no one gets too carried away in believing the fantasies I don't see the harm?
  12. I mean at this point I feel we need to make a hype train
  13. I agree that MH makes my random theory less likely. However we DO know from Squad's old data that most people don't venture outside of Kerbin SOI, so it would seem reasonable to continue to focus on things like the Mun. Personally, I would love for KSP to get one final visual overhaul (including clouds, etc), quash remaining bugs, and call it a game. I would probably pay for that as its own "DLC"
  14. Might be a play on Tranqulity Base/ Mare Tranquilitatis, the famed Apollo landing site?
  15. I don't understand, orbital construction is about as complicated as... docking
  16. This is something I've been thinking about for a while. For landing gears (I won't at all venture into the scary world of wheels), is it prohibitive to simply swap out the suspension-equipped legs for rigid, statically locked parts when you click on an option to "lock"? Like, it can even be a completely different part that just happens to look the same, that just gets substituted in instantly.
  17. Ah yes.. that moment when all of a sudden the camera zooms out to reveal your docked behemoth in its full beauty.. never gets old!
  18. I'm sorry but I don't at all see the utility in this probe core method.
  19. KSP definitely has steam cards, or at least they did.
