  2. Thank you, I was afraid you'd show me that page, I had seen it before. The problem is that that ranking is mission dependant, meaning that their rank would change every mission. Unless anyone can provide a rank (if there is one at all), I shall invent my own, depending on their time at KSC and skill bars
  3. Hello! I am not sure this kind of question fits here, and if it doesn't, please move it mods. So, IRL, are there any astronaut hierarchy? Like in the military? I am asking this, for I am using that mod that allows you to write notes in-game, and I want to start a Crew Ledger. Obviously, the highest rank belongs to Jeb, followed by Bill and Bob. But that is were I crashed. Commander Jeb, and then what? Lieutenant Bob? Engineer Bill? What comes next? Even tought that there isn't a hierachy, that astronauts are just Commanders/ Engineers/ Scientists, is this correct? BONUS QUESTION: If there is a hierarchy, what are your highest ranked Kerbals, perhaps beyond the orange suits?
  4. First place: unless really close, due to radiation dissipating, no living species would "hear" us, just background noise. Second: As much as all living creatures have natural xenophobia and aggression, as basic survival methods, the more evolved they get, the better they get at reprising that natural capability. We don't murder our neighbours when we run put of food, we developed ways to repress that instinct. Advanced alien life forms would be no different. Third: Think from their point of view. Even if they did scan us and come to the conclusion that we are technologically inferior and they could wipe us, wouldn't someone get a little paranoid about "secret arsenals"? Any civilization advanced enough fears to attack each other due to mutual destruction. We wouldn't nuke aliens on fear of them striking back and same for them. Lastly i do not believe we are ready for meeting other life-forms. We barely live at peace with eachother, we must sort out these problems before that
  5. Compared to other animal species, Humans have a higher intelligence and ingenuity, allowing us to create tools and means to solve our problems, ways to give us strengths we don't have. However on the Physical side, humans are surprisingly weak. For our size and considering the amount of food we ingest, humans are slow (a cat can out-run us), we are weak (any chip etc is stronger than us), we can't stealth (even slow steps are noisy has heck, and our tall structure doesn't help us hide). However, without some kind of physical strength, we would never have survived long enough to actually develop said intelligence. Most specialists agree that we have two major strengths: 1st: Resistance. Most animals, suffering from heavy physical damage, just enter pain shock and die. Chop a horse's leg or a lion's leg off, and it will mostly likely die from just that. Humans however, if motivated, and fuel by enough hormones, usually just die when the hearth or brain is hit. How many examples of soldiers having their limbs blown and cut off, and they just hold the stump and press onwards. That is a major strength. 2nd: Hunt by pursuit. A cheetah hunts by hitting 90km/h and snapping the victim's neck. Sometimes they escape. Humans hunt by pursuit. Slowly, yet steadilly, at a constant slow speed, almost not stopping for food or rest, we just follow the victim trails. There is evidence of humans walking the equivalent from one tip Florida to the other on hunts, with less than 3 hours of sleep and some berries. No matter how hard you fight, how fast you run, how good you hide. We will follow you. And we will find you. In the end, what I most like about Humanity is our ingenuity. We solve problems, we find ways to give us strengths we don't have. A human introducing himself could indeed say: "I solve practical problems"
  6. I Cri evari tiem. Now seriously, the community is great and friendly, but I seriously doubt seeing this would stop any country in the world from chasing goals like key position or resources. It sounds unfair, because it is Unfair, that's how the world spins. Let's hope the Kerbals live in a more united world. Perhaps their 6-hour day cicle won't allow them enough time to think about that

  8. Hmm... looking at this mod, I am intrigued. How would it work with other mods, such as engine and tank packs, FAR, interstellar, Kethane, any major mod incompatibility? Or things like having two of the same yet different fuels (Like two hydrogens, one from one mod and one from the other, and not interchangeable)
  9. How amazing! I just found this writing, by my will and totally-not-because-I-was-dragged-in-the-middle-of-the-night-and-drugged-with-pink-pills, because that sort of thing never happens to XAC! Can't wait for more awesome-and-totally-not-exploding-missions because every single mission goes so well! That leaves me to wonder... Xacktar could probably land on the Sun, given he is soo coool, cooling the sun's surface enough for him to land, as if he would ever need that, he is ethernal! Keep up the good work!
  10. Hmm... I would, but my art is reaaaaly bad. It doesn't need to be too fancy, if you can't find anything just the KCT letters are fine. Personally I would suggest a wrench and a clock. Also, I know this might be a little annoying or rude, but could you pretty please release a quick small patch to add kerbin hours? I am not going to play kerbal again without this, and having my rocket much up about a month of time makes me shad . Of course, if you don't want/can't/are currently being attacked by the kraken, I can just play the patience game and take a small break from Kerbal (jebbediah wont be dying 10 times in the same day for a while)

I am now using the mod, and i have tested out, there are no incompatibilities with Final Frontier, has it just lists missions AFTER they have ended, thus swapping the crew with crewmanifest works real nice. Awaiting eagerly for the next release, keep up the good work! Just a question, does this have issues with revert? Or with MultipleSavesDA?
  14. Hmm, another thought, would this mod be compatible with FinalFrontier? That mod adds flight records and ribbons, would it properly detect a crew swap? Also, could you pretty pretty please add a setting to use Kerbin hours? No need to tune rates or anything, just a simple setting where a day means 6 hours, pleeeease.

I don't really think we will see a fully fledged war between these powers, there are too many deterrents, aside de usual nuclear deterrence (no country nukes another, fearing retaliation), but economic deterrence. Any country going to war, be it US, Russia, or any European, would have its economy ruined by investor panic, trade connections shutting off, loans freezing, resource trading screeching to a halt and basically screwing up any involved country.

By the looks of things and the enormous ammount of support messages, if things really go bad and they get to you house Czo, just call for aid on the forum and you will get a personal army coming right out of the Kerbal Forum . EVACUATION PRIORITIES: 1-CZO and his familly; 2-CZO computer and AAR scripts (TOP PRIORITY) 3-Vodka recipes; And that's it. Evacuate evabody, Before putin comes ridin on his bear.

  20. Thank you for your answer! I will keep a close tab on this mod, as I think it is a must have, but has you said, requires some more features. I suggested EL support because it could be exploitable, just as using a rover to deploy a emergency launchpad right next to KSC, allowing you to skip building etc. (although i think exploits are mostly the user's fault). As of right now, I will stick so focusing a flag and time warping Also, is the build timer on kerbin hours on real hours (on kerbin a day lasts 6 hours)
  21. This mod is very nice and really useful, but I will just skip it until there is a better crew control and compatibility with real chutes. Thank you nonetheless and keep up the good work! EDIT: Just a thought, is this compatible with Extraplanetary Launchpads? I think it should be, and it would also act as a balancing agent for EL, their pads would take longer to build things than the KSC
  22. I have finished reading all the chapters and I must say, never has a fan-work made me stare at a forum for about two hours or more. Truly amazing, a very well written tale with an amazing story. My guts ache with so many cliffhangers You are one talented writer, and I await eagerly for the next chapters, I really hope we get answers, as well as references to the Space Race and Kadmos. I am just speechless. Of the two I prefer the Grand Tour over the Space Race, because it is fictional, reading the Space Race you already have a general idea of what is going to happen, save some variations and kerbish moments. Both truly amazing works! Keep up with the good work! If this has not been previously asked, what version is this on, and what mods is it using?
  23. Hello, i have an issue to report. Likely due to mod incompatibility i can't use this mod, adding a launch clamp to a rocket creates a really weird glitch on the launch pad were I just see kerbin floating away and can't control anything. I would provide pics, but I am on my cell right now, has anyone experienced this before? EDIT: Weird. Got it now, moving KSP form the desktop seems to have fized it, this folder is located in users after all... Odd, i think you should check the code, never have i had a mod giving toruble about this. Great mod anyway!
  24. NO, this mod doesn't directly affect EL, but as starstrider pointed out, after you set up infrastrucutre, you dont need any more pay to make new vessels. And these vessels are usually very cheap because they dont need the delta v you would waste to take off from kerbin (around 4500 m/s). Right now, MCE only charges you for orbiting the infrastrucuture, not for any assembling or further materials (unless you take off cannisters of parts, if you mine ore and smelt it, MCE cant charge you for that). Right now, a analogy would be you setting up a factory, government taxing you for doing so, but no futher taxing from that point onwards, and you dont pay anything for materials or labour. In fact, a combination of kethane and EL allows you to fully build and gear vessels in outer-space, trow in TAC Life support and BioMass, and you can get everything you need from places like minmmus. The best solution would be some "assembling cost" at these launchpads, altough MCE cant do that very well because of plugin interactions and the way EL creates a new vessel, in Docked mode if i am not wrong

Love the mod, but i will be skipping it for a while, i also have extraplanetary launch pads + the fact that contracts and custom contracts still need some polishing, i will just wait for 0.24, when squad adds it, and i hope you will be able to do a better and more integrated mission controller!
