  1. It also needs to not have a small connection in the middle of big parts, with large force applied at one end... (See "Shake it Up" link in my sig)
  2. It's one way of keeping the Kerbal population down (Have your Kerbals spayed or neutered, or send them on a ballistic re-entry!). It also encourages rescuing those poor clods stuck in space, although that would go counter to both Darwin and Bob Barker
  3. I suppose this should be in the Support forum: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/127662-active-contracts-disappeared
  4. Well, it happened to me again today. The first I noticed a problem was when an invisible-ship bug cropped up. That's when I realized the contracts were gone as well. Going back through the KacBackup saves, I saw the contracts had been gone for awhile. Running VOID, KAC, Ast. Day, Chatterer, ForScienceContinued, Stock Fuel Switch, Docking Alignment indicator, TCA, A whole afternoon gone to waste, as my last good save was before a Gilly landing/science/mining op, followed by docking and rescue ops. A more recent save doesn't lose as much time, but the contracts are gone. And it happened somewhere in this log...
  5. Stock Fuel Switch lets you make any tank LF only. I didn't even want to use nukes because of tank restrictions until regex suggested this mod.
  6. Yes, this is the part of time travel we mortal humans have mastered: The ability to capture moments in time, from instants to hours, and replay them at will.
  7. It seems my ship didn't like flying with the service bay doors open; the Hitchhiker above the service bay kept shaking off everything attached to it, even after quickloading and trying again. Closing the doors before liftoff after a quickload seemed to prevent that from happening.
  8. That trailer racing does look hilarious, if messy. Watching WRC videos is what got me into Linkin Park When I searched that vid just now I discovered there's a WRC remix for that song, but I still prefer the original. Of all the WRC music vids I've watched, that's my favorite; it's also the first one I ever watched.
  9. After three aerobraking passes to lower the Ap from near Ike orbit, I finally landed my mining ship on Duna, complete with 1000 units of Ikean ore to complete a contract. It "only" took 6 sorties down to Ike to replenish the monoprop and ox aboard the tug /CRV orbiting above, as well as adding some fuel for the Nervas (I don't even want to think how many more trips it would have been to completely fill that Jumbo tank (Stock Fuel Switch, all fuel in the Jumbo). But the science! Once Jeb gets back to Kerbin, it'll finish the tech tree and then some!
  10. It's happened to me. Maybe your last quicksave is from before the contracts disappeared, or since you have KAC you should have some earlier saves to go back to, before the contracts went poof. See what you have in the alt-F9 window. It's saved my bacon
  11. Yeah, I was all excited when I heard about Shadowplay and realized I had an nVidia chipset that should do it, until I found out that it's not supported by the m-series (mobile) chipsets. So yeah, no Shadowplay on laptop, er, notebook computers
  12. I have to remember to look outside a little later. Still just at sunset here on the NAWC (North American West Coast)
  13. The only flames I saw were from propellants reaching the first stage exhaust. To me, the 'explosion' appeared to be the rocket finally ripping itself to shreds and appeared surprisingly flame-free
  14. You can also compare the time to the Ap and Pe, that should give you an idea of which way you're going. But that only really works with the focused ship.
  15. Leave it to a moderator to fight all the recent hate with some KSP love.... That feeling you get as a noob, when you don't know how to fly the navball. Dithering over the Mun, trying to eyeball when horizontal velocity is gone, trying to descend at a safe speed, closer, closer... still drifting sideways when making contact, it's trying to fall over downhill... but it settles back on the landing gear! You did it! The first landing on the Mun! :cheers!: That is what I love about KSP Now whaddaya mean the hatch is obstructed?
  16. Stuck pressure relief valve? Or something trying to crash through the tank from above? (looking at you, IDA)
  17. What a lousy thing to wake up to, I was hoping to wake up and see Falcon standing on a barge, instead I see pieces raining down and Dragon did not go to space today. My heart goes out to the hard-working staff at SpaceX and everyone whose hard work was aboard Dragon. But this is the rocket business, where it doesn't take much for the whole thing to go boom. "The Powers That Be" know this, and life will go on. I don't expect this to seriously affect CRS or ComCrew aside from the proverbial fine-tooth comb treatment going down to micro-sieve.
