I'd like to point out to both this poster and several previous ones that I'd already pointed out to some other poster and some other previous posters that Scott has already commented in this thread. You're welcome

Where we're going we don't need OKAY OKAY I'LL STOP NOW.

IIRC it was an old and fairly rare lightning bug. There's been a Reddit thread about this, full of obvious Event Horizon references.
-
You must be here.

I guess this is at least PEGI-35, because I'm not sure I'm old enough to see this thing animated.

I'd like to point out to both this poster and several previous ones that Scott has already commented in this thread. (I was kinda wondering how he'd react, as this is plausibly offensive, but figured [edit: judging by the public personality he presents] he'd be more amused than anything. And the thread isn't dead yet, so I suppose I guessed right. I'm not a fan of "ask forgiveness instead of permission", personally, but I guess no harm done this time).

[1.4.1] Fuel Tanks Plus 2.0.2 (2018-03-14)
ModZero replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Great update, but I wonder if anyone tried to add hydrogen configs for those of us playing with cryoengines or NFP+hydrogen NTRs? Last time I did it (before 1.0) I didn't come up with anything that would give tanks better/comparable to what came out from the stock tanks and the MM config coming with cryogenic engines. EDIT: and I'm not sure how to go about adding more stuff to IF switcher without outright replacing the config. -
Universal Storage 1.4.0.0 (For KSP 1.4.x) 13th March 2018
ModZero replied to Paul Kingtiger's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
There are several experiments that don't give you the full return value, and even less with transmission, and those are mostly the bulky, non-rerunnable ones. But you can't stuff repeats of the same experiment in a single stock container (there are a few mods that do that, AFAIK, but I never tried them). For me the use of a pure science container would be taking a bunch of results from whatever while in a polar orbit around something, then just plopping that in an unmanned vehicle that would be sent to Kerbin. Also, some mods (ship manifest) allow moving science around on unmanned vessels, so that's another place where it could be used. Meanwhile, I'll remain annoyed that results from thermometers aren't fully transmittable. -
There *are* fuel cells, though they eat L/OX, not mp. But mainly, no APU because there's no "need this much power to start this engine" requirement anywhere, in contrast to so-called "real" world, where you're unlikely to start a jet engine on battery alone (apparently, anyhow, I am not an aerospace engineer, I just played DCS a bit), so any wussy battery (or maybe a solar panel the size of a postage stamp to keep the probe core going) is fine. EDIT: also, I remember Kerbal Foundries having an APU in the past.

Nope. But Daishi was asking about ideas for utility wedges in the dev thread (but please don't have too many, I'd like to see a release ;-)) -
[WIP] Nert's Dev Thread - Current: various updates
ModZero replied to Nertea's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
What about a 2-section ramp? Might be tricky to make it appear structurally sound, but something like this: -
No, mining - but yeah, it's probably still more DMagic's cup of tea ;-) If it's about the balance and magicalpowermakingthingy, Nertea has a mod that makes them decay. Not sure if it's possible to keep the decay but limit power output to decayed state, though, and apparently the current heat mechanics hate generating heat while in time warp.

Khrm, I'll just... ...imagine the possibilities.

At risk of being painfully over-integrated: probe cores, kOS/Mechjeb cores (kOS > Mechjeb for me, but you could get a staring eye for Mechjeb, you know you want to), NFE stuff you mentioned (capacitor, mainly, perhaps a tiny RTG, though TBH unexposed RTGs are weird). Generally I often use US on landers, and like using them to keep the lander both compact and relatively "squat". From stuff I use less but want to do more and I think some people would love, if we had "tall" wedges, then I suppose sticking a drill into one could be viable? Animated, like an antenna? I'd personally would probably just coo at the animation, but I'm sure people would actually use that.
-
Nono, you don't get it. They don't *want* the old KAS, they just miss it. Like I'd miss Daggerfall but wouldn't want to replace Witcher 3 with it. Nostalgia, ZZZ's models, and my not-at-all sarcastic will to believe in the inherent goodness of humanity.

I'd love a bit more utility modules  sometimes I'd rather stick utility stuff (now using the "science bay") than heavy resource modules into empty spots. The transmitter doesn't really even have to be long-range, I mean, you're not really going to stick a 5m dish inside one bay (are you?), but it could be nice for e.g. AR mod's lander/orbiter comms.
-
Also, press 'x' to actually use the tool. It's the only part of KIS that wasn't totally intuitive for me, the tooltip that shows up when placing really could use a "press X to mount/tool needed to mount" remark.
-
I hate to break it to you, but I don't think that's a "station" :-) That's no moon, that's a transfer vehicle... Oh, well, I guess that part ain't exactly new. I guess the rest isn't as well (I just discovered that Roscosmos has a YT page). It's a really cozy capsule, though.

I just noticed that Roscosmos posted a video a few days ago, that's showing off (somewhat bombastically, but hey, it's space, it's either bombastic or it's a rover sluggishly moving across the surface of Mars) a mockup of their planned Soyuz replacement. Also a bunch of interior concept renders at around 5:30. EDIT: also, apparently, propulsively landing on Mars for some reason.

[1.12.x] Heat Control - More radiators! (August 18, 2024)
ModZero replied to Nertea's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
He's not the only one that would remember it as "a summer". I was a kid (like, 5 years old) back then, and much further out, but my neighbors family's mother was a head nurse of a hospital's lab (or something like that), so she caught wind when the government started sequestering iodine. Anyhow, my family was out in the community gardens by Warsaw, and apparently the weather was glorious. Now that I check on Wolfram Alpha, it says it was 22 degrees where I lived back then - so pretty much summer by our standards. -

While at it, can we please get a 5m FLAMBERGE sw^Wengine, please? I'm so sorry...
