So, is there any answers to my questions? 1. can I create and edit maneuver nodes in IVA? If yes, how? 2. can you transfer fuel between the tanks? (I just arrived back to my fuel-tank and I would like to refuel my lander and go for the next moon) 3. I have several external cams but only the first two works, all the others are plain black. Is it a bug or my mistake?

1. this mod is a good idea. This makes the precise atmospheric landings easier which helps only at Laythe somewhat in JOOL-5 but I like it so it is allowed. 2. there's no rule of the Grand Tour outside of JOOL SOI so yes, you can do that or anything like that. The only rule is that your JOOL-5 ship has to go from Kerbin to Jool as one ship, additional ships cannot be sent, and the Kerbals from Jool have to be able to come back to Kerbin with their (remaining) Jool-5 ship safely. But if they continue their journey to other worlds then it's a plus. 3. putting something on with a "hided strut" is allowed as long as that something on the strut is not clipping. So i-ii-iii is allowed but please try to avoid iv. If you lower your struts at iv until the xenon tanks doesn't clip then it's okay.

You are not allowed to hide a part of a part inside an other part (hehe). In other words, the volume of the whole ship have to be the same as the volume of the parts all together. If you show me in a private message what you mean by editing a craft file to center a part then I can decide about that. Using the debug menu is cheating so prohibited. And putting anything inside an other part is part clipping, so prohibited too. Everybody have to suffer the same problems!

I have two more question: 1. can you transfer fuel between the tanks? (I just arrived back to my fuel-tank and I would like to refuel my lander and go for the next moon) 2. I have several external cams but only the first two works, all the others are plain black. Is it a bug or my mistake? btw I LOVE this mod! I enjoy piloting my Mun-Minmus expedition from IVA very much! AWESOME! Respect and Thank you!!!

I have MechJeb installed and there's no node creating stuff like "hohmann-transfer" or "fine-tune", etc... or is there and I just missed it? but anyway, I would like to have a way to create some simulated engine burns with simulated orbits to see how it would work. Right now I'm doing a Mun-Minmus 2-in-1 mission with a LM and a CM but I waste some fuel to try things out instead of looking for the best solution (like we do with a maneuver node ).

Overfloater: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 Challenge on Jebediah's Level! Nice and well planned mission with a simple and very efficient ship/lander design. Maybe lander could be smaller with wider legs for more convenient landings but I saw you are okay with the slow and steady landings (and the ASAS helps you out if needed). And nice easter egg visiting landings without any mod, it seems like you've already been there some times. I usually don't like video submissions because they are slow but your video was dynamic, that was good! Also congratulation for the additional landings! Cool, thanks for participating!

Yeah, I just meant that you two made some amazing Grand Tour missions so I'm sure you will not try anything cheaty. I would like to allow the B9 HX huge rockets and parts if they would be used to make something huge and complex which is at least that hard as the normal challenge. But allowing a huge rocket would mean to many beginners that "my landers are too heavy but it's not a problem because I can use huge rockets to send them out" and I want to avoid this thinking. I'm bored of the "put more rockets there"-style missions. And I didn't say I will put your mission into the normal list... if you use some too extreme mods (like the HX parts from B9) then I would put it in the "Mixed Solution" but with some distinction text, if the mission deserves it.

Hi, I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm looking for the answer since a while and still nothing, so: can I create and edit maneuver nodes in IVA? If yes, how? ...or, how can I know when to start to got the Mun, to Jool, to one of the moon of Jool inside Jool's SOI, how to aim at target in the same orbit, etc? (I know how to target something, I just need the node )

This rule is for avoiding missions where one or more lander or ship part is sent to Jool later, separately. That way it would be easy to correct mission planning errors but a good planning is part of the challenge too (so it should be treated like a real life mission, in real life you cannot send additional stuff to an already launched mission). If you want to do a Grand Tour then it's only the JOOL-5 ship which has to go to Jool on it's own. The important thing is that your Jool-ship has to be able to go from Kerbin to Jool, land on all moons and go back on it's own.

parzr ix right, if the given mod makes the mission harder then it's allowed, so TAC life support is allowed. SCANSat doesn't really change anything so you can bring that if you like. I'm not sure about the new massive parts at B9, I didn't try them yet so that's a good question. I guess it makes the launches easier, and makes the building of huge ships easier, so maybe I will not allow it. This challenge was started when the orange tanks and mainsails were the biggest parts and when there was no science lab, so the Lab and the big ARM already made it easier. But otherwise I like the idea of huge moving interplanetary bases so if you would like to use those HX parts then you have to balance the hardness of the mission with additional goals or mods. But this should be a personal case every time, discussed with me before the mission!

Only-ion lander or with a little first-stage normal rocket? Is it possible to make it all-ion? I didn't try. But I made a minimalistic almost Grand Tour mission, mostly with an ion lander... Edit: I see you meant glider. Yeah, why not, go for it if you can do that! But don't ride the infiniglide-glitch please! Edit again: I have made a simulation and it is possible. It looks like it needs a lot of dV, my glider needs about 4500-6000 m/s worth of xenon gas to leave Laythe surface into a 80 km orbit.

I didn't get it, what do you mean?
-
You can bring one but you are not allowed to transfer any science, only those science points counts which were delivered back to Kerbin's surface. And yes, these small clippings are not a problem. It's about that your ship's volume have to be the same as all the parts's volume together. So no fuel tanks clipping inside each other, no engines inside other stuff, etc.

Luovahulluus: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 Challenge on Jebediah's Level! That's funny that the crew missed the launch! I guess that happens sometimes with the HHS+Lab... about the Laythe plane: the procedural wings are not in the allowed mods list and I don't have experience with those, are they stock-alike? Hmm, leaving the main ship in an eccentric orbit between the moons could be dangerous... but looks like you avoided bad collisons/orbit changes. And why did you put an other Kerbal onto a chair outside? For more science? That was a nice solution with the modular lander that you were able to detach the ion-powered command pod and it was strange that you had only one big solar panel... Your Tylo landing was a close call! And Bop even more close! Pushing the huge main ship in EVA for sunlight for the solar panels were cool! good job, thank you for participating!

SkyRex94: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 Challenge on Jebediah's Level with a new science points record! Yeah, that suborbital flight at Jool with the external seats was epic! At Laythe you shouldn't aerobrake your main ship into low orbit, an high-eccentric orbit would be saving more fuel, but as you had already a lot of fuel at the end of the mission this doesn't really count. At Laythe that's clever that you drove your plane into the ocean for more science points! Pretty cool modular landers, well done. That's fun that you used the ARM claws to hold your Mk1 during Kerbin return. Very well planned and executed mission with a new science points record (is there any way to achieve more points??), well done!

No problem, if you have any idea to change something then let me know. I will use it in my signature because I like it!

I think this challenge is hard enough already on every level.... there were some people who wanted it the more hard way, they used FAR, DRE, brought more lander than needed, did extra science, probes, or went to other bodies too in the same mission. And if you want more, there's the JOOL-5 Jebediah + Grand Tour level, I can't really think of any harder mission than that in the Kerbal Space Program.
