Its a good model bu ti weren't talking abou that, i was talking about something not-a-faring and not-an-aeroshell, an intermediate thing, that will prevent of damage parts like batteries,

I don't know if its such a godd idea, with a mod to have it... Its enough to me
-
I have the following mods: -mechjeb -Kas (lastest version, kas still working for me) I have version 1.0.2 I started my gilly landing mission, i have my ship covered with a fairing to secure its aerocapture on Eve... when it passed the atmosphere, i detached the afiring and... The state of my ship changed to Landed, at 287 km above gorund. The ceontrols didnt work and eva was inoperable... So I decided to play as god... I changed the state of my ship using persistents.sfs and then, wjen i try to load the savefile, it doesnt work, i started a new file. Can anyone hel me to fix that? This is the persistents.sfs, the name of the ship is Gilly landing Mission https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz5__uS_MPu0czhWeWtWdVNrX1k/view?usp=sharing

One curious story abiut moon race was that Von braun didn't like the Lunar rendezvous trip for one reason: It was too simple. he liked the earth-rendezvous Trip for the contrary reason: It was difficult, expensive... and it will require an orbital infraestructure. If US would follow the Von barun model, probably were more difficult a cancellation, because it was an infrastructure assembled and working and it should be used... What do you think about that?
-
Based on my - primitive - concepts of aerodynamics and the observations made playing badminton, I came to one conclusion: The form of the wheel of badminton is aerodynamically very stable, so ... Why not make a heat shield to be deployed , raising a barrier wall similarly to this? What do you think? Can any of you do it?

ISS was the hugest waste of money (yes, waste) oin al space exploration history. The resources of 3 of the largest space agencies of the world are being destinating to mantain a giant orbital godzilla that don't generate many science. They are doing expermients, yes, but they are doing experiments too in tiangong (1 or 2? It doesnt matter) and taingong costs less than a 10%. Yes, we re mantaining a constant human presence outside Earth, but i prefer a trip to Mars. Beacuse, trust me, wiht the money spent on ISS and managing it well, we don't have a mission to Mars, we could have missions to Mars regularly, because, i think that Mars is like a droge, once we started send humans to mars, we can't stop. Public will not let that. in addition to that, we could have a surface base on mars, permanently habitable. In Mars there's water, from water we can get water and O2, and Hydrogen, ISRU! And I think that an orbital platform in LEO is important too, but we should have enough arguments to have it. Seriously, a thing more like OPSEK, will be all that we need on LEO. That and a shipyard with refuel capacity.

What if: Hammer and sickle on the Moon
stellarator replied to FlyingPete's topic in Science & Spaceflight
In addition USSR spent less money that US. As example, they still use their lunar ship, Soyuz. During this time, US developped another -and not cheap- space ship. The STS. As example of that, the only launch of the USSR Space Shuttle -Buran- cost less than the reutilization process of the main engines of the US Shuttle. And they needed to do one of these after a landing. Another USSR landmark: Mir. Us never had a modular space station until ISS and i think they wont build another soon. US did many good things on Space, but they spent more money doing that. -
What if: Hammer and sickle on the Moon

If you speak Spanish, http://danielmarin.naukas.com/2012/09/05/una-realidad-espacial-alternativa-2-y-si-los-sovieticos-hubiesen-sido-los-primeros-en-llegar-a-la-luna/ if tou don't, Google Translator could do a quite well job. Its a really enjoyable read! -
Humanity is going towards home instead of expanding itself to the space. The budgets of the Space Agencies all over the world dedicated to mantain or expand the human presence on space are lowering slowly. In 60's we sent a man to the moon. In 2020's we're going to send an human with a technology years-light of distance to Apollo to Moon Orbit to retrieve a little asteroid. How embarrasing! The ARM is only an excuse to keep SLS alive, because it's a rocket that hasn't sense. It was desgined, and now, they have to search a mission for him. It isn't the way to make a giant rocket like SLS (i think that a launch of this monster costs many millions dollars, not 6 or 17, im talking about 600 milliosn at least (i dont rememeber the exact cost)). The ARM Mission is a mission that scientist don't want, it will be more cheaper send the asteroide to the moon, refuel the probe and put it near ISS, where a normal ship like Dragon v2, CST 100, Soyuz or PTK-NP can reach it. But Russia isn't better. The giant rocket of Russia has been cancelled (another like SLS). I think that this is a godd idea. Instead, they will do a 35 tonnes-to-orbit rocket. With two of them, they will sent a new PTK-NP to Moon orbit. The Number of Russian cargo ships delivered to ISS is going to be reduced due to the arrive of new commercial ships like dragon or CST-100. ESA is another history. They haven't a manned program with their own space ship. They pay seats on other ships. And China... I put my hopes on China. Because they can reach moon on 7-10 years with their actual technology, if they use their resources properly. Unmanned exploration is another story, but it isnt enough. I don't feel comfortable knowing that today, only 6-8 humans are outside Earth's atmosphere. What do you think? post your comments. Also, if you understand a bit of spanish, i highly recommend you this web: www.danielmarin.naukas.com

[0.90] KSP Interstellar port maintance thread
stellarator replied to Boris-Barboris's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I have a couple of suggestion: 1- A special docking port that, placed behind a reactor, can transmit Thermal power to a generator, docked with other "Thermal'o Tron? That will made easy to build an orbital ship. 2- A Fusion reactor configuration more estiliced for aircrafts? -

I think that one planet more will work fine with x64... When it will become stable.

I set a period of 15 days for answer the pol so.. I dont know what's happened

As many of you knows, Squad is planning add moar moons to Jool (maybe 16) and a secon gas giant, 50% larger tthan Jool, with 4 large moons and many tiny moons. My question is: Will it be soon? Soon: V1.1-1.5
-
I'm not sure that this post should be here so if any moderator see this... Please, tell me where i should have posted it. Im waiting this for a long time. Is still planned the introduction of a Second Gas Planet? I think that is one of the most important things that should be added to the game for -maybe- version 1.1. The main reason is that instead i havent explored all the planets, i want more. I have the horrible sensation that KSP is getting boring because i dont found any location of interest... And i dont' want to find ksp boring!;.;It is my favourite game! So... Any news about it? With all respects to Squad, who has done a very well job. PS: Sorry for any writing mistake.

You have created the most awesome aircraft-spaceplane ever but it happens that it hasnt got enough speed to take off. And it happens that it starts to turn to one side of the railway. How to stop these two things atsame time? Navy did it for nearly 60 years. Its called catapult and its used on carriers to give extra speed to the aircrafts. Why not an extra upgradeable building on the runway to give extra speed to the space planes and lock the front wheel? It will be extra expensive and only upgreadable when the runway is at maximum develop. What do you think? like this http://algoqver.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/f18e_takeoff.jpg

Intercambio de diseños en español
stellarator replied to stellarator's topic in Spanish (Español)
Creo que tengo justo loq ue necesitas: El STAIRWAY TO ORBIT. -
Mk 1-2 docking bay
stellarator replied to stellarator's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yes! that was im saying! And the paper... i foroget to quit another paper that was on the scanner... -
I don't know if the title is apropiate, but... Here it comes! part that will be the inverted of a Mk 1-2 pod (2.5 meters wide). It would be like putting the reverse one of those cabins. Thus, created as a bowl in which if a docking port 1.25 meters inside it were placed, shape or create illusion that a ship ports comprised 1.25 at the end of cabins Mark 1-2 away completely so (2.5 meters wide). thus would be more stable and ... More Kerbal! I don't know if the translator worked fine, so... a very bad draw will explain it better!
