The Tantares Non-Replica Repository
Foxxonius Augustus replied to Foxxonius Augustus's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The right part for the right job! I must say it is a gorgeous probe and I don't think I'm alone in saying I would love to get my hands on the craft file. Although sadly I don't have a craft file to share ether... But I do have some early pics of a new station I am working on. Most of the structure is there, I just have to go over it with the offset gadget to make all the docking ports line up right. After that it just needs greeble and some lift vehicles to get it up there. -
The Tantares Non-Replica Repository

I don't really use RSS and you will have to elaborate on "TMK matters" but, possibly. I do find that building challenging craft is what I find most satisfying in KSP. -
The Tantares Non-Replica Repository
Foxxonius Augustus replied to Foxxonius Augustus's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Well I have a new craft for you guys, it's called Kom-Stat Alpha! Given that it is a station meant to strengthen and provide local control for a Kom-Network and I am not great at naming things (hence *Alpha*). It has living and working space for 6 kerbals and facility's to allow it to control robotic craft independently of KSC (in remote-tech anyway). It's not very big and not really meant for use out side of Kerbin's SoI, although there is room for expansion to allow for use deeper into to Kerbol system. An interesting feature is the use of T-OM's as docking nodes, also their angle makes docking *interesting* but fun! No download yet, I have to pull out some TACLS parts first... -
The Tantares Non-Replica Repository
Foxxonius Augustus replied to Foxxonius Augustus's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I love seeing Tantares part use to make craft the were never designed for (obviously) and the N-IMV-II-III dose count. Hope to see some pics at some point! In the mean time, I made a Mun probe. The [sFS] Eksplorer mk-1! [sFS] Eksplorer mk-1 Download Look out for the mk-2 soon! -
The Tantares Non-Replica Repository
Foxxonius Augustus replied to Foxxonius Augustus's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Wow the first contributions and a nod from the Bread himself! Why have N-1 when you can make something all your own out of the same parts? In that vain, feel free to use this. [sFS] Rockets Download -
Alright, I've done it. After a days work I have started The Tantares Non-Replica Repository, a place for me and any one else to post all the wacky and wonderful craft that Tantares lets us build. The first few craft are already up and I hope they get added to. Also don't just post craft on this new thread, one of the best parts of the mod thread is all the cool things everyone makes!

Salutations! Welcome to the place to post all the preposterous things you have built with the excellent Tantares Mod! With this thread I hope to show how creative this mod in particular lets you be, and I can't wait to see what others have come up with. There are few rules: 1. The craft Must have Tantares, or developmentally related parts in it. (AB Launchers, OMSK Space Products, Q Orbital Systems or Tantares and TantaresLV textures for ProceduralPart.) 2. Try to avoid replicas. The Tantares pack includes the perfect parts for TKS, Salyut, Mir, ISS, OPSEK... They have been done. By all means make them for your self, but lets be creative shall we... 3. Have Fun (No Exceptions!) I figure I'll start off this wild ride a few scratch built craft made from NOTHING but Tantares parts! Thats right not even stock parts in these babys. I Present, The Kom-Sat Range! (Download at the bottom) (All broken with the current version of Tantares.) Kom-Sat Download Alright now lets see some creativity!

On the subject of antenna. I was recently tempted to start a Non-Replica Tantares Craft Repository on the spacecraft exchange. As some of you may know it is customary to include your own contributions when starting such a thread so I set to work. I thought I might make a few com-satellites to start things off and add some more substantial craft later. Trouble is, me being me, they had to work with Remote-Tech (a mod I don't normally use), in-case some one wanted to build a working system with them. I did some digging and found that the current RT config for Tantares is out of date and not terribly well balanced with the other RT antenna, so I set out to redo the config. Long story short, Beale if you would like to use the new config just let me know. The Craft Repository will soon be going up one way or the other though!

The trouble with that is Beale can only change his own parts. What if we want to use the docking ports with otherwise stock craft? Or craft made with a different mod that conforms to the 1.25 standard?

At the risk of getting on a band wagon, I am finding the new .9m parts really hard to work with. Don't get me wrong they do look cool and certainly more comfortable for kerbals to fit through. The problem I have comes from them not really fitting in well with other parts. We only have one dedicated adapter, one that was really only made with one spot in one spacecraft in mind. If we could get a re-proportioned flat adapter, or better two, one to 1.25 and one to 2.5 or 1.8 that wold make it much easier to use the .9m docking ports with, well, everything really. The other option would be done is to make a version of the .9m docking ports that have 1.25m bases, like what we have for the old .625 ports (same size port but with inbuilt adapter) for use with things other than the Tantares OM and top of Vega. To be honest though, the second solution seems unsatisfying. I really think we need .9-1.25 and .9-1.8 flat adapters to regain the lego feel that I for one have fallen in love with.

Hay Beale! Once again thanks for such an awesome mod pack! I decided to track down the work you did on Zenit/Energia/Vulkan parts in order to fill a heavy lifting void in my ongoing series (found Here). It was surprisingly difficult to find and I was wondering if you might put a link to it on the front page or in your signature somewhere so others can find it easier. Anyway great work on the new LK! -Foxx

A mission a day EVERY day! - BIG UPDATE!!!
Foxxonius Augustus replied to Foxxonius Augustus's topic in KSP Fan Works
Much has changed since my first few videos. My confidence behind the mic has grown, my style has adapted and the format of the videos has been iterated upon. Because of all this and the fact that my first save was bugged beyond belief, I have decided to start fresh! In the new save I will be taking it slow for now but I should be ready to ramp up again shortly. I think that the mission blocks here will be divided more by mod used than mission type. There will be more description here as I have time to write it but for now, on to the Missions! In-game mission name (Real world mission name*) *If applicable. Mission Block III - Tantares! Tantares 3 and 4, Kvant 1b and Kvant 2 and - Later Destroyed by the Kraken Mission Block IV - Baby Steps... HAMAL 3 Mission Block V - Laying down a legacy *note. From this point on, names in parentheses are abbreviations only.- 1 reply

Salutations KSP forums, I have to confess, I have wanted to do You-Tube videos for a long time. I can remember wondering if I could top the great Macey Dean... But nothing much ever came of it, whether it was a lack of motivation or lack of inspiration I can't say. More recently however I found a post by forum user Captain Sierra about a new challenge he had come up with, he called it Kerbal 365. The goal in a nut shell is to complete, at bare minimum, a major part of a mission every day for a whole year. This challenge managed to be both inspiration and motivation for me. Inspiration in that it made me think a lot harder about how to put a mission together and it motivated me, its hard to slouch when you have a deadline to meat every day. For more on the challenge the link to Captain Sierras post is below as is the link to his blog in which he does his after action reports. Original Forum Post Captain Sierras Mission Report Blog As for my missions you can find all of them on my channel by clicking -> here. But I figure I'll post a list here as well. Prelude Mission Block I - To the Mün! Later Destroyed by the Kraken Later Destroyed by the KrakenKolossus I + KL-2b Mün mission and Kolossus II + KL-3 Mün mission and Mission Block II - The Tale of Two Projects! Mission Block IIA Later Destroyed by the Kraken Later Destroyed by the Kraken Later Destroyed by the Kraken Later Destroyed by the Kraken Mission Block IIB Kosmos 4 Launch+Landing and (note that Part 1 dose not contain Kosmos 4 footage)Kosmos 3 Capture and I hope to see you at the launch pad!

Hiya folks. Firstly, First Post WOOHOO!! So I have been lurking on these forums for years now as I have been with youtube, I decided to change both at the same time. I have decided to accept your challenge and I will be doing a video every day to keep track of my progress. I may set up a thread as well but for now a link to my channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuH6tn6g-3xEtl9VhSN92nA/feed
