  1. I will keep an eye out for the new release and get an RT patch together for the new antenna if needed.
  2. Well my Thor stacks still need some last minute details but I am ready to release my Titans into the wild! Behold! That is 23 Titan variants ready for your launching pleasure! Download A few are missing, namely the 3L2 and 3L4 as they have a different stack diameter and 2B and 2G as they differ only in avionics and other electric dodads. The 400 series is also absent as I have spent my last 18-26 free hours stacking Titans and I am done for now... Hope things calm down/work out
  3. For what its worth I just spent all night constructing every version of Titan ever proposed... and every Thor... and I think I have Juno I kicking around here somewhere... I'll post a DL soon... Man this mod got good!
  4. Not sure if it has been brought up before but could we get an attachment node on the bottom of the the Prometheus-I-640 or Prometheus-II-675 so we could eventually recreate the Saturn A-1 or the Super-Jupiter? Also it would add all around utility. After all, in KSP, a first stage is just the second stage of an even bigger rocket!
  5. I Agree with basically everything here except for the bit about hoping the ribbed style will be gone. I have always like how industrial and utilitarian that style made craft look. Also it will make the non-reentry HAMAL probe cores and the associated tanks harder to work with and as it is I use those things on everything!
  6. Very nice! Are they replacing the current ones? Pretty but I never really felt they needed an update. I honestly loved the old ones a few versions back that have vertical lines and I have only just become accepting of the newer texture. Also any chance we can get them to be functional radiators?
  7. @BealeSo how do you get crew into or out of those new FGB parts with no hatch and no IVA? They do look amazing though! ps: where did you get those sweet solar panels on the Shenzhou?
  8. If you can give me the exact name I can look into it. It would help considerably if you could PM me with a full mod list. What is interesting is that if it lacks a RT config it should lose control on the pad immediately after staging away any launch clamps. I suspect it might be a weird interaction of mods. Edit: Found it! Hamal control C and D does in fact lack a config. I will whip up a fix in a second here. Edit 2: Updated RT Control Config (Note: this is meant to replace _Extra_RemoteTechControl.cfg in your Tantares folder.)
  9. Very nice! Reminds me a bit of the venerable Co-XX line!
  10. Yeah it dose not come with craft files. There are some packs out there of pre-assembled craft though. IIRC Curt has a nice pack but I don't know if it is up to date.
  11. That thought had occurred to me as well. As someone who loved thee old TLV and could take or leave the new one (the old color scheme was awesome!), I have been considering trying to update some "legacy" Tantares parts for the new areo/heat systems. Depending on if Beale is ok with that it might be a project I look into later this year. Also, for clarity, I would be doing a strict function update. I would not be adding any fancy UV maps or anything like that, nor would I be developing those parts in any way, just getting them to work as originally intended.
  12. I use them for both honestly. Right now I have a TKSish vehicle for crew and cargo transport to stations and will soon be adding station modules based on TK-OB05A Orbital Block. If you haven't seen it by the way check it out on my renewed 365 day challenge playlist on Youtube! Link!
  13. Salutations! Over a year ago a challenge was posted by Captain Sierra, called Kerbal 365. I participated in that challenge and loved every minute. I failed however. Today on the eve of Christmas 2015 I reawaken this challenge! The rules are simple, perform a mission or part of a mission every day for 365 days in a row. A part of a mission for the purposes of this challenge is defined as one of the following Launch a craft from the surface of a celestial body to orbit. Deorbit and land on a celestial body. Perform a transfer burn to a different planet. Perform a capture burn around a planet. Perform a complete transfer from one celestial body to another in the same system (ie. Eve to Gilly, Ike to Duna, Mün to Minmus.) Perform a significant mission critical activity. The last two are additions I have made to the original challenge and are there to expand the number of valid missions. The first was added because the difference between going to the Mün and going to Duna is only ~500dV and missions to Minmus are missions too! The last one is a catch all and is there to cover the weird things that don't fall under one of the other defined mission parts, such as EVA construction with KIS/KAS or configuring a massive station for, and then performing a transfer to, a radically different orbit. Mods are allowed and encouraged as, from my experience, it might prove difficult to come up with enough unique missions with just stock content. Feel free to take on the challenge with a stock install if you want but it's not required. As this challenge is more about personal satisfaction than competition there is no ranking system, completion is the only goal. That said I will try and keep a list in the OP of the active participants. My attempt will be recorded on my YouTube channel and I encourage participants to keep a public record also, whether it is with YouTube videos or a blog or even a tread on the KSP Fanworks subforum. I will begin my run on January 1st 2016. Now Kerbalnauts, state your intent and be counted as a participant to take on this epic challenge! Participants Foxxonius Augustus
  14. My gift to you, fellow Tantares fans! My TAC LS Config Overhaul! I had uploaded v1.0 of this config awhile ago but it never got integrated, I think Beale was busy becoming a Papa Loaf at the time and it fell through the cracks. Anyway, have a change log as well!
  15. I can definitely look into it, I am a bit bogged down atm with another config project but I can probably get to it soon. I can at least take a look tonight and see how much work it will take, though as I recall the antenna stats did look fairly solid... Edit: So I gave it a look and to be honest I don't see much to be done. I can certainly do a pass but I think the problem is that the LLL antenna is quite underballenced. Bear in mind that I am not actually calculating gain or beamwidth or anything like that, I look at mainly from a game balance perspective and take ques from any real world antenna the part might be based on so it can do the equivalent job in ksp.
  16. I have a question. If supplied with life support systems (carbon extractor and water filter) how much waste is generated each day per kerbal?
  17. It's ready right now and available for DL in my previous post. Though some/all of them deserve some explanation. The KPS Coordinate-Array and the CONCOM-7 are both antenna from the Galileo GNSS. These took some research to get right. In the real world Galileo flies in three orbital planes at an altitude of 23 Mm with an orbital period of about 14 hours. For a correct orbit in KSP than, the satellites would need an orbital period of about 4 hours, this occurs at an altitude of ~2,047 Km. To determine the range these antenna need is just a matter of taking that figure, rounded down to 2 Mm, plus the radius of Kerbin, 600 Km and adding a further 100 km for good measure and safety for a total of 2,700 Km or 2.7 Mm. The cone angles are a bit of a guess but the angle for the KPS Coordinate-Array cone angle of 30 degrees covers all of Kerbin at the correct altitude. To avoid just copying the stats of the KPS Coordinate-Array, the CONCOM-7 has a much narrower cone angle of 10 degrees but gets a much better data rate at lower EC cost. The HAHM Communication Dish is another story. Its stats are mostly based on balancing it with the other Kurs based antenna in Tantares. It has a longer range, higher EC cost and narrower cone but a better data rate. To summarize. Name Range Cone Angle EC cost KPS Coordinate-Array 2.7 Mm 30 Degrees 0.45/sec CONCOM-7 2.7 Mm 10 Degrees 0.01/sec HAHM Communication Dish 55 Mm 4 Degrees 0.55/sec For anyone that missed it. Remote Tech Config Dropbox Download (place in the Contares folder outside any sub folder, it will override the required parts of the part config files but only if RT is installed.) You are very welcome!
  18. Ok then thanks again Hraban for the quick responses! The config file is ready and can be found Here. Hraban you can either post a link in the OP or package it as you see fit. Just place the file in the Contares folder in gamedata, outside any subfolder. Edit: Just to clarify, the description only needs to be changed for Remote Tech as its stats are unchanged unless it's installed. Any changes to Description or tech node are done within my config.
  19. I wanted to move the Galileo antenna over to the Electronics node on the basis that they are not really used for science and making surer the player has Advanced Electrics and thus has access to decent solar panels. The HAHM I wanted to move to Precision Engineering to bring it in line with other Kurs based antenna. Lastly, the YAGI I wanted to move the Advanced Electrics to bring it in line with other Apollo related antenna. This is a tricky one as that antenna was used for a the ALSE experiment and not for communication, in fact the data it produced was recorded on 70 mm film and had to be retrieved by EVA. Long story made short is this, I gave it 3x the range of Apollo 17s maximum altitude, this still makes it the shortest range antenna in the game, to compensate and because of its real world nature as a science experiment I gave it excellent data transmission stats. This brings me to the only description I feel might need changing for Remote Tech. Given the change to the YAGI I wanted to change it from this "Very low data transmission but better then nothing." to this "Very low range but better data transmission then anything else!".
  20. Thanks for that, it made this much quicker! The Remote Tech config is basically ready, it just needs a few more tests and a bit of polish. One thing I wanted to ask Hraban is if I can have permission to modify the descriptions and placement of the antenna in the tech tree. If so it will only ever take effect if Remote Tech is also installed.
  21. One thing that would help immensely would be knowing what real world antenna these parts represent. I know one and am hazy on another. If, for the sake of simplicity, I could be directed the the correct satellite/probe that corresponds to A, B, C and D in the following image, that would make this process go much faster. A-B-C-D Thanks in advance!
  22. If you would like I can whip up some RT configs for you, I have already done the Tantares RT configs so I can make sure your antenna fit in.
