WATCH OUT DOWN THERE! - Awesome landings showcase
Overfloater replied to InterCity's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Wow NICE...xD --- I think this is an awesome landing: BUT... THIS is when I thought I've won KSP: No parachutes & no retro-engines Also, this plane came there from Laythe and then returned to Kerbin. -

[SHOWCASE] This should not fly . . .
Overfloater replied to Captain Sierra's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This probably should not fly... This most definitely needs to fly! -
Long range? I recently made just that. It goes to Laythe & Duna & back on one trip. It consists of a whole 494 parts...but that's cause I wanted to carry a four-passenger module with me ;P Be sure to avoid using buttons A and D while in atmospere. Certain death guaranteed. If you really wanna turn, roll the plane about 45~90 degrees degrees and pull up. I could have made it more user friendly, but that would require even more parts! My calculator could't possibly handle that. ------------------------ ------------------------ ------------------------ Here u go

sorry people, I was mistaken - Duna is landable after all Also probably all of my previous planes were Laythe-capable, I was just a thrash space navigator. ...Come on now, no one ever mentions the benefits of hohmanning while still in the sphere of influence! Astroliner IV Comet: Has 7 jets & 2 Atomics. No parachutes, no vertical or retrograde engines. Does not destroy stars. --- --- Have fun (The plane isn't very user friendly...) -
Alright then. Here's a little mission to replace crew members on mobile research facilities on Laythe & Duna, 2 guys at each place. Astroliner IV Comet: Has 2 Atomics, 7 Jets, 72 intakes and looks cool. Does not destroy worlds. ------------------------ ------------------------ ------------------------ Knock urself out

Heya Booly, thanks for putting me on the guest list I do appreciate it and I'm glad U liked my craft ;P Now, my entry here was rather lame. Anyone here can do a round trip to Minmus on a single stage, nothing special. So I was wondering, is it OK to re-participate in your challenge??? (I'm feeling extra confident about my new plane...) Also, does using Kerbal Alarm Clock count as cheating?

*Repeatedly bangs head against a wall* Aghhh clumsy me U know I ment METERS! Pa1983's planes are still downloadable. Try to investigate their design, that's what I'm trying to do also. But than again, designing a cargo bay plane means lots of parts... maybe one time I'll commit the ultimate sin and use mods...? -

Well that's not really the prob, cause my plane was a gliding on Duna like a champ at ~70km/s, AND just to improve my chances I checked "kerbal maps" to find the lowest elevation on the planet, and went there. But then when I touch the ground I'm screwed... everytime I hit the ground, the plane wants to go back up and the wheels won't do any braking. VTOL ability is a good option, but I was thinking about placing an engine that faces retrograde, for braking! xD It'll work, I know it... -

Damn that place, it's unlandable! Those are pictures from different takes.. I tried more than 10 times in a row, with same resaults! But than again... Astroliner I-B had it's landing gear too narrow and I didn't pack any chutes for the road xD -
You Will Not Go To Space Today - Post your fails here!
Overfloater replied to Mastodon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I conducted a Landing-In-The-Wilderness test for my Astroliner IV Comet spaceplane. (That's just the 1st prototype, it has improved very much by now and still looks cool) Daaaaaang... I also wanted to pay a visit to Duna with my Astroliner I-B: That oughta teach me not to make landing gear too narrow. Maybe next time I'll even pack me some chutes, too! Anyway I then travelled back in time with [F-9] and returned to earth. -
totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread
Overfloater replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
You people aren't being waaay too insane with your designs now are you xP I'm working on a SSTO Laythe-roundtrip-capable crew-replacement spaceplane that unlike my many previous attempts, might actually work. Astroliner Mk-IV "Comet": Has 7 jets, 72 intakes, looks cool, lands unpowered. BUT... 1st design wasn't good - the atomics were touching the wings, and therefore spontaneously falling off... other than that, it's pretty good! Prototype #2: The centre wing parts were tilted by 5 degrees so now no wing parts are touching any important parts. It has passed the Landing-In-The-Wilderness test on every try! nothing breaks off! my best plane of that category! Also it now has it's cockpit tilted down by 10%, so now it may be possible to navigate in the atmosphere and land without leaving your cozy cockpit I'll keep no secrets What a clear view! -

I like those little landers as for the album, remove the #0 bit. -
Astroliner III - Not very good interplanetary capabilities, but looks cool Also gave Astroliner III-B a test drive: Right now testing the Astroliner IV for its interplanetary capabilities:
-
Wow! best looking Shuttle I've seen so far! You even made that ugly cockpit look O.K.!

Aaaghh! I keep stranding spaceplanes at Laythe, somebody stop me! That's a rather wild idea... xD but no, the solution is a right balance. If it achieves orbit with less than 1/4 of its fuel it should do fine... Astroliner II-B "Astroshuttle": I don't know what was I thinking sending a plane with almost the same characteristics as the previous one for the rescue... Still a good plane, though. Astroliner III: It's a bird... it's an imperial star destroyer... it's a plane!!! Heavy, waaay underpowered jet stage, wastes almost half fuel and one eternity getting to orbit... I'd be surprised if it even reaches Laythe! This is how I learned I shouldn't have an underpowered jet stage. I just returned it immediately. It almost passed the Landing-In-The-Wilderness test, I lost 1 control surface O_o The Astroliner III-B was almost perfect, has the fuel capacity of 2 big reds, but WHYYY after all these fails I had that urge to put the HEAVIEST cockpit on it and a whole TWO passenger compartments... Now it's a bit worse than the previous Astroliners... And that's only to get a Jool interception! -
Ahh. Good old intake-stacking. I hope they never fix this! xP

U're the best Hey people, tell me something... If I build a craft by using this plugin, will this craft be available on a stock game?
